This brand new Dick's is moving in! These guys have Academy on the run. Their stores are big, brightly lit, with a lot of cool merch! I went for opening weekend, and ended up getting a great deal on a canopy. They were offering coupons and special prices- score! The clerks were friendly and helpful. Their selection was ample and the prices seemed fair. Since the store was brand new, the stuff all looked great. They offer an indoor batting cage here, so you can try things out before you buy. I also appreciated that they have an in-store bike tune service. They were actively tuning some dude's bike when I went by. However, their bike selections seemed rather thin. I wanted to get a chair, but nobody wants "dick's" emblazened behind their chair. I was impressed by the size of this place. went to this location and another one in San Antonio to get my daughter some turf softball cleats, unfortunately they don't carry any of them in store. We were told that they were only online but we could order them and then when they come in she can try them on to see if she likes them. if not she can return them and we can then search for another pair. I don't see the point of ordering a shoe if you can't even try them on I store. Also all of the 16-year-old kids that worked in there who don't know how to speak up. If you're looking for equipment related to the big sports like basketball, soccer, baseball, football or golf- then this place should have what you need. But if you're looking for the smaller sport or hobby stuff like pool, darts or cornhole then you're in the wrong place. Good service though. I appreciate employees that walk around with their head up asking questions to make your experience better. Only issue was this time they didn't have anything I was looking for. The store currently has a sale on Walter Hagen golf shorts, "buy one and get a second pair 50% off". The shorts cost $70 so if you buy one at $70, the second pair would be 50% of $70 for $35 for a total of $105 for two. I tried to purchase these shorts and the discount showed $17.50 at the register. That amount is 25% off not 50%. I pointed it out to the cashier but she defended the amount of $17.50 as being correct but could not explain why. As a long time corporate banker, I have a clear understanding of basic math. Either the register is not calibrated correctly or the store is falsely advertising the sale and they are basically ripping people off. Not only did I not purchase the shorts (I was going to buy four) I will not ever step foot into a Dick's Sporting Goods store again, anywhere. We came in to look at the treadmills. We were asked within 2 minutes if we needed help which at the time we didn't. When we were ready to purchase, they asked if we wanted to try it out first. That was a cool option. Then, by the time we went through the line and paid they had it out front ready to load in the truck. Great service from Dicks all around! read more

They don't carry many budget options, but that's okay, they expect you know you're hear to buy top quality. That does make prices slightly high, but the convenience of having lots to browse and try on is very helpful. Changing rooms are available throughout the store. The only weak point is camping and backpacking gear. They could use more options there, but there are other stores around that specialize in that kind of gear. Ordered 2 shirts that were on sale, I ordered both for pickup and after I checked out I noticed they changed one for shipping and I unknowingly payed for shipping on one of the t shirts. I had ordered a t-shirt for same-day delivery. I was notified that my order had been delivered, but when I checked at my house it was no where to be found. I even checked my security cameras to see when the delivery person arrived with my item and they never showed up to my house. So I checked the tracking number and it shows a picture of the front porch that my item was delivered to and it in fact WAS NOT my front porch. So I called the customer service number with Dick's and they basically double-downed on the fact that they delivered it to the right address. I've lived in my house for my entire life & I know my front porch, so how are they going to insist that I don't know what i'm talking about? They didn't offer a refund or redelivery, just told me to take it up with my bank. They website stated they had a bike in stock and wen I rushed over to dicks the bike is unavailable, it's in stock by there bike tech needed to do something to it the employee wasn't specifying why isn't I couldn't get the bike, it didn't make sense as to why it's in stock I'm looking at the brand new bike but there not letting me take it read more
