We had to exchange a treadmill, which was not a "light" task. Although my husband provided some assistance to help offload the treadmill from the truck, Mark and Josiah were so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, Dick's doesn't have equipment for heavy merchandise, just muscle power. Mark and Josiah had to team up and load the new treadmill for us too. Mark was very thorough when he brought the new boxed up treadmill to us since they had inspected the item in the back stockroom. He showed me the tears and damage around the box, but he told me that everything should still be intact and not damaged. We got home and the treadmill was in good shape. NEVER GO OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT BRAND OR STORE BE CAREFUL OF SCAMS I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience at the Dick's Sporting Goods of 2131 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056. I purchased an item that, upon further inspection, did not accurately match the description provided on its labeling and was therefore unsuitable for its intended use. When I attempted to return the item on May 9, 2026, the store staff Martin denied the return request on the grounds that the item had been opened. What was particularly concerning was that the store refused not only to process the refund, but also to return the item or receipt to me. Additionally, I was left without any reimbursement, which I believe reflects a highly unprofessional handling of a legitimate customer concern. After expressing my intention to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and relevant consumer protection agencies, the situation escalated unnecessarily. A security individual was brought into the interaction and presented himself in a manner implying law enforcement authority, yet he declined to provide identification, a badge number, or his name when requested. During the encounter, I felt intimidated and harassed. The individual also made physical contact with me without justification and attempted to photograph me and obtain images of my identification using a personal cell phone, actions I found deeply inappropriate and troubling. Overall, I found the environment hostile and the conduct of the staff and security personnel highly unprofessional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location to other consumers. I intend to pursue formal complaints through the Better Business Bureau and applicable consumer protection channels, and I will also explore potential legal remedies regarding the handling of this incident and the conduct of the personnel involved. Very nice location! They have a lot of great options and the store is nice and neat. I just wish they had a bit more in stock to choose from, but since it's right after Christmas that could be why the selection was a bit lower. Im kind of in the middle of this location and academy. I always chose to come here tho because there's a lot more selection when it comes to baseball/Softball gear for my kids. The only thing I really have trouble with is shoes, wish there was a larger child size selection but other than that they always have everything we need! I also like that they mail coupons! Super clean store, the electronic interactive component added to the shoe department has a great UI/UX and is simple to use for service. Extremely disappointed. Walked in to the store with my husband and two sons in search of a Astros Jersey for my husband. Immediately got racially profiled and stereotyped! Loss prevention and employee started to follow us through the store. I immediately felt very uncomfortable but also wanted to stand my ground . I took my son to the restroom and immediately a security went inside and checked bins as if I walked in with something. Before walking out my husband noticed a shirt he liked but as we were getting close to the exit I immediately noticed an employee was being told to turn on or make sure magnet detections were on. This is not the first at this store but is the LAST! I will escalate this to corporate as this needs to be a learning experience to their employees. I am a medical employee and walked in in scrubs and a hospital T-shirt coming from work very upsetting that I get profiled just on my race and clothing! Today was my sons birthday and he lost his Spider-Man wallet in the store with his money in the wallet. When I returned four hours later one of Jeff's team members turned the wallet into him with the money. An all around A+ team with integrity and great attitudes. This is my first visit to the new Dick's in Summerwood. The store is fantastic with an amazing selection. Took my son in to buy his first baseball glove. Worked with one of the managers, John. He was knowledgeable and very helpful. Even helped me steam and break in the glove. Was also greeted by the GM, Joe, who was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back. What a Complete Customer service Joke. Find a button, hit it four or five times and maybe someone will come and help you. Second time at this location and the second time I walk out without spending a penny. Called and spoke with the manager and it became quickly obvious where the problems at this location start. Here is my suggestion to the management at this location. Take a store meeting and drive to an Academy. You will not find buttons to push because there are people there to help. You will find the Manager on the Sales floor. You will be greeted when you enter and thanked when you leave. You will have knowledgeable sales staff in every department instead of building displays. You will find cash registers open and cashier taking peoples money not walking out the door empty handed. If there ever is a problem you will not have the manager make excuses and offer a gift card just to get you off the phone. Take notes while you are on your field trip to Academy. Take them back to your store and implement some. Do something different and act like you care about your customer. This location is a complete "Dumpster Fire" and the problem starts with Management.
