So...absolutely ridiculous! If you use a Cash app card, they will not return to the card and only give a in store credit. Though Cash App is a debit that is backed by a bank. This maybe the case for Venmo as well. Just an FYI save the next guest the hassle. I will no longer shop here or at any Dicks and will take this up with corporate. No where, at time of review, is this stated on their website. It states it will go back to original form of payment. I typically shop Dicks Sporting Goods via app or website but I was interested in getting fit for a set of golf clubs. Obviously, that is something done in person. In steps my golf pro Michael Coddington, we spoke about options and budget then made an appointment. As an amateur I look to professionals for advice. He was a calm fellow and extremely knowledgeable. He had me use my own driver and 7 iron which was analyzed by he and the computer. He then introduced some club options based on my swing speed and distances, each one making a small improvement over my brand of club. Mike was helpful, methodical and a genuinely nice guy. This store is not worth the 2 stars. We came in to return a Jordan backpack that came apart at a seam in an area that isn't even handled by the top. The cashier looked confused at our request. She stated if they couldn't resell it it was unreturnable. Because it is white it shows some marks per usual with anything white and for a kid. I helped her access my receipt on her register because she couldn't do mine on the phone. I told her I wanted a manager and she called for one. When the manager came he did not introduce himself just looked at the bag and smuggly stated did she tell you the policy? I showed him that there was virtually no wear on the bag other than some pen marks on the white. At that point I questioned his logic at not even looking at the damage showing the condition was good aside from the defect. The return/exchange policy is pretty clear online. And we were within our right to return. Been a loyal Chicago area customer since I was a kid spending thousands on all sports but this experience and lack of customer service has helped lose this family of 6. On this occasion I went in to find a basic wooden baseball bat. It is going to be part of a Halloween costume for my youngest. While we were there we picked up a few other things. This establishment is usually calm shopping but it was buzzing with ppl attempting to get Bucs gear. It's a big deal to host the super bowl but the hosting team to actually be playing in the super bowl is huge. So if you need a Bucs Jersey for $100 this is a place to go. After doing some research on the pellet smoker I wanted, I saw online that it was in stock and available for pickup at this Dick's. Just to make sure the website was correct, because, you know, technology, I called the store to verify. The young man that answered was polite and helpful and went to check the stock. Once he confirmed it, we were on our way. After getting to the store, another helpful young man directed us to the stock of smokers. I found what I wanted and notified the same young man at the front door. He requested assistance loading it from other staff members, after referring to me as an "athlete". Pretty comical actually. I guess I'm young and in shape now. The employee that helped, Matt, was a super kid. He engaged in chit-chat with us and helped to load it in our vehicle. He even expressed an interest in using a pellet smoker. His demeanor and attitude got him an invite over for our first batch of ribs. A very good experience in a clean store with friendly employees. But I find the prices really high it is true the products are high quality and they seem to be always busy. I would love to say that things have improved in this store. I would like to say over the years that costumer service has gone up and quality has as well. Would really like to say that. Sadly that really isn't the case. Which is odd. You can go to other Dicks and experience the polar opposite of this. Having to hunt down a sales associate in your store for help to find a pair of shoes for over five minutes gets to a point of just going behind the wall and getting it yourself. The clothing section is barely wide enough for a two year old to fit thru let alone the three feet that needs to allowed for access. Checking out is one step above Wal-Mart. The one step is that it's clean. The speed and friendliness and knowledge ranks right up there. Just go to the other Dicks in the area or sport good stores. Came in looking for Brooks running shoes size 9.5 but this location had a very low stick with limited sizes. I could not find any running shoes in a size 9.5 so after ten minutes of looking for an employee, I finally found one and asked if they could look in the back for a size 9.5. He came back and said there were none in the back. How does a sporting goods store not have a common women's shoe size in stock? Anyway, he let me leave without buying anything. The first thing I learned while working in retail was to always help the customer find something, even if we didn't have what they were looking for. He didn't even attempt to help me. This should be addressed in your store because I left and took my money and bought a nice new pair of running shoes at Sports Academy right after because a nice lady helped me out. I have worked retail for 21 years. This store has beat over my lifetime and I'm a senior the absolute worst humiliating service I have ever seen . they have different rules regarding who is working. if they don't know their job they are embarrassing and humiliating to the customer. Never in my life have I been told I cannot carry ammunition out of the store once purchased they have to carry it. I am sure because I am a lady. don't see men getting their ammo carried out for them. it's not like I can you use it it's the wrong size for my gun. I was told yesterday I can bring my handgun in unloaded of course and check in with the front desk so that he might be able to fit my gun with a laser. about 3 employees freak out it was totally empty the barrel was open they got a lock and put on it then had to escort me to the back telling me the whole time they cannot help me they can't work on my gun as I explained I wasn't having them work on my gun just seeing if they have something that fits. I bought the laser I bought bullet for my son's gun not the same and they would not let me carry it to the front they would not let me carry it out the door the man was such a jerk up front he want to put them in a bag I said I have a bad and he said he has to put it in another bag. so as you can imagine I said no I don't want another bad I want them in this bag he got all pissy He said he had to walk his out the door I said that I bough ammunition yesterday and they didn't do that .He said that's a requirement I would have to do that so outside the glass doors he handed it to me. you tell me what kind of Regulation is that if um yesterday was not a problem. Pretty Poor Went to Dicks in Florida Mall on Labour day, bought a Wildlife Trail Camera which was $180 down to $130 Got it home and tested it, didn't work. Night time photos completely black, daytime 1080 video was pink Went to the Davenport store the following day to change it, as it is a few mins from my house rather than all the way to Orlando again.. They didn't have the item in stock, suggested I changed it for a different model, looked at the selection and the only ones that did FULL HD were $180 (as this faulty item was before Labour day discount) So they then suggested other models which were the same $130 as I paid... Although the shelf price said $99 with $30 rebate by post... Being a tourist from the UK I can't do the postal rebate, so they explained that it used to cost $180 so paying $130 was still a good deal. I explained that if I wasn't a tourist I would get it for $30 less, got the reply that I already paid $130 so it's not like I am losing money... I suggested one of their staff pays the $30 then if it's not a problem... I asked them if they could check if the same item was in stock at the Orlando Mall shop, they told me they didn't know and the website didn't tell them.... I asked if they could call and check and they asked how they could do this. Picking up an imaginary phone, I replied with "Hello, this is Redneck Jim calling from the Davenport store, a customer purchased a Browning Trail Camera Yesterday and before he drives all that way to find out if you are out of stock he would like one put aside for him" He replied that the internet didn't say they had one because it is suddenly a discontinued model so it won't say if they have it in stock...... The lights are on and burning dimly for the masses here, was tempted to ask if he had a valid phone number for the internet, if that is easier than calling another store, but this was complex enough for them already.. Dicks, they sell you broken crap and then think you should pay over the odds to replace it with something else because their stocks are useless. Looking on the website the item STILL shows as current... Customer Service which is Second to None, unfortunately.. The customer shouldn't be expected to suggest THEIR customer service responses to selling faulty goods. I have just replaced it myself in the UK on Amazon prime for £60 / $78 and it is delivered to my UK home tomorrow and will be waiting for my return... Bought a bike online and took it there to be assembled. Tires were flat and kickstand wasnt added. On the way out the guy says if u have any issues u have to pay us to fix it cause you didnt get the 150$ maintenance plan. Got home for test ride..left pedal fell off..handle bars so far down cant see levers..gears wont shift..reflector on seat popped off..Took it to bike shop in Winter Haven 100$ later I got the bike I paid for. They left vmail with 5 or 6 things that were way outta whack. DO NOT have Dicks at Posner assemble/repair your bike!! read more

My brother got a titleist hat on sale in the clermont store. So I came by this store and got the exact same hat. They refused to even admit it was the same hat and would not honor the price that was at their own store. That vksuj was the skunhas to be the exact same. The manager was very short with me and I even brought in my brother showed him the hat. Again, the same hat, still refused. Claimed he "didn't want to argue", keep in mind i was very nice and apologetic the entire time to let them know I wasn't attempting to be difficult. I'll never consider going to this store again. Went in to buy grips for my golf clubs - salesman was rude - pointed to racks of grips and told me to pick out what I needed - I told him I wasn't sure but would leave clubs - he said he is doing a fitting with a customer and he didn't have time - I left and returned 3 days later - I got another salesman who was very busy but took the time to help me and was nice to the 3 of us who were waiting - as it turned out his father Howard worked with me at ESPN - he found the correct grips I paid and returned next day and picked up clubs - TWO suggestions - put more sales people in the golf section - Florida has a lot of GOLFERS in the winter !!! and tell the first salesman that sales may not be his forte !!! read more

Please Read my review. I promise you it is worth it. Terrible Customer Service!!!! The truth is I have never been impressed with their customer service or willingness to help in a purchase but it was never enough to encourage me to write a bad review. They simply do not care whether you buy something or not. Not only do they have personnel with just minimal knowledge about their products but they are also rude to you. I went with my family today originally looking for a "youth" shotgun for my 11 y/o son since I am getting him started on skeet and trap shooting. The guy at the gun section was very quick to tell me that they had nothing that would fit him and that I should go to LeadFeather gun store in Winter Haven if I wanted to look for something for my son. I insisted in seeing a couple of break barrel models they had in stock since I had done my research and one of them actually ended up being really good for my son. The guy was not very happy to have to show me or spend the time. I told him in the end I needed to have a conversation with my son to see how he liked it and the guy didn't even answer back. We left that area and as we were passing by the bicycle section we saw two small children's bikes for my 3 and 5 year old son and daughter that they liked. I took a turn with both of my kids to try the bikes out by my holding them carefully with both of my arms as I was showing them how to pedal a little. I had not moved but 5 feet with my son when I get a salesperson behind me to tell me that I was not allowed to do that. Kind of awkward but immediately I got my son off the bike and put it back in its place. We went to another section and the kids were begging me to go back to check out the bikes again and I stopped and thought for a minute: "Well, if I am considering buying these bikes for my kids, should I not be allowed to try them out?" After all it just seem ridiculous to me to buy a bike without even being able to have them sit on them to see if they liked them. I went back to the bicycle area and looked around to see if the same guy was there to ask him if I could try the bikes for my kids and did not find him (nor were there any signs that said to ask for assistance in trying the small children's bikes). I sat my daughter again on the bike and as I was starting to move a little and holding her properly the guy shows up behind me again and told me he had already made me aware of me not being allowed to do that. I stood up and told him how I felt about not being able to try the bikes if I was considering buying two of them and that it just did not make any sense to me. He answered with a rude tone that he did not make the policies and that it was dangerous even though he saw me holding my kids properly. I asked to speak with the manager and coincidentally she was just passing by (incredible since I am always trying to find help there and there is never anybody available; Again they just make you feel like they are doing this big favor for you). The lady (with zero personality) essentially had heard what the guy told me and said the same thing that it was "dangerous". It was so bizarre and I answered with stronger tone of voice that it did not make any sense and she did not have a response to that. I got so upset. It is incredible to me how these people sell anything there. I guess it is a good place if you're just going to walk in and get your stuff and pay for it without having any major contact with anybody. Otherwise even the experience at the cashier is poor. I am left with no desire to ever go back there and I think that if the owners care they should do something about it. I am not sure why I could not see all the reviews on google but they have 3.9 starts there. Go to yelp and they do not even reach 2 starts there. Obviously I am not the only one. I know unfortunately times have changed but I will never be comfortable investing my finances (that I work hard for) in a place where they simply DO NOT CARE and you shouldn't either.
