I had a very unsettling experience at this Dick's Sporting Goods location. I went in with my girlfriend to look for running shoes, and a customer accused us of trying to steal things he had left on a chair. He became verbally abusive toward my girlfriend and physically threatening toward me. The situation felt unsafe. The man kept getting close to us inside the store, and continued escalating until we felt we had to leave. I asked employees to call the police, but they appeared completely disinterested and did not intervene, say anything, or take any visible action. They seemed more like spectators than staff responsible for customer safety. I understand that stores cannot control every customer who walks in, but they can control how they respond when customers are being threatened. The lack of employee involvement or visible security made the store feel unsafe. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location. read more

There was not a customer in the place.. we went there to purchase sunglasses right around 7pm, There were 4 people working there standing and leaning on the counter, three of which were on their phones waiting for the store to close, I assume...Nobody picked their heads up, even though I was literally standing right in front of them. I said Excuse me, and the short and stout woman said "what happened??". And that was the highlight of my visit. Scheduled for next day delivery and despite the notifications I received I received nothing. Oh my credit card was charged but no merchandise. I called customer service and after a few minutes I was transferred to a special Customer Service representative who was "there to handle the issue immediately." "Give me a few minutes to reach out to the fulfillment center and we'll have your purchase Fed Ex'd for tomorrow." More than 24 hours later not a word! Andrea E. I just had an out of body experience at Dick's Sporting Goods in Boynton Beach. After waiting at least 10 minutes with no service in sight in the golf department, I walk up to the cashier space and ask the cashier if she would page someone to the golf area. She does, then I go back and wait another 10 minutes- a sales guy comes back to the area and an older white man walks up and starts talking to him. I politely say that I've been waiting and asked to have someone paged. He brushes me off and starts to assist the 2nd customer and does not assist me even after he finishes serving him. I go back to the cashier and ask if someone was paged for back there because someone came back but did not assist me. She says yes, but now I'm ready to take my business somewhere that will appreciate it and off I go to the PGA store in Delray Beach. This is the third time I have had poor service there. I was advised there was no special walking shoes, but running shoes were suffice. I received valuable information regarding the different brands of running shoes from a shopper who were purchasing shoes. I was dismay there were no bargains during Cyber Monday for the brand I purchased. Nevertheless, when came to counter to check out, I did not realized I picked out the higher cost sneaker. I did not have enough of cash, and told the cashier I had to split the purchase with cash and credit card. The cashier shared with me since I had a reward card there was a $20.00 off on purchases over $100.00. She kindly walk me through the steps on my iphone to obtain the coupon. Biggest mistake I ever made was buying workout equipment from dicks sporting goods. It has been the most stressful and horrible experience for the last 3 months. I went into dicks sporting good back in September to look at a norditack elliptical that I was very interested in purchasing. I was told they had one left so I bought it and took it home. Had it built and found out once installed it was severely damaged. So I get on the phone with dicks customer service where they told me I would have to bring the damaged machine back to the store because I chose not to pay 250$ for the company to deliver it. So my husband had to miss a half a days work and bring 2 people to lift it and bring it back to the store. The machine looked as used ever. So weeks after I spoke to someone where they sent another one. And guess what that one came damaged as well. After dealing with there escalation department for several weeks they told me sorry there's nothing we can do we already gave you a discount so all we can do is come and pick it up rather than accommodating a customer who has dealt with all of this. Waited 20 min for anyone on the floor to help then Sam came and told me he didn't know anything about catching dolphin and said he would ask one other guy. I have never in my life been so blatantly disrespected as a shopper to have someone follow me around and literally stand next to me to make sure I'm not shop lifting as what just happened to me at Dick's Sporting Goods in Boynton Beach. I complained to the manager (who's apology meant very little after I had been both insulted and inconvenienced) and went next door to Sports Authority where I should have gone first. I used to be a regular shopper here but I guarantee that after today I will find other means. What made it so bad is that some other random guy went and got the store associate to tell him about me. All I was doing was standing there trying on weight training gloves. I didn't really catch on to what was happening until the random guy made a point to walk a few steps past me, pretend to look at something and then turn around and walk back past me again. He was so close that I was paying attention in case he was going to attack me. Then as he walked away, he nodded at the store associate who told him "thank you" and then proceeded to watch me. Once I noticed this, and after standing there in disbelief for a few minutes and to make sure that that store associate really wasn't going to leave to go do anything else, I just scanned the item I chose so that I could buy it on Amazon or elsewhere. Then I politely waited in line to speak to a manager. I mean, the associate literally helped another customer by just pointing them in a direction on the opposite side of the store then promptly returned to stand 10 steps away from and glare at me. He even had the audacity to come over and "suggest" a pair of gloves to me by saying "These are the cheapest"! After I told the "manager" what happened I left and went to Sports Authority where they had the same exact item for $2 less and were polite and didn't stalk me. read more

No customer service. I came to this store to buy hiking boots. Employees ignored me while I first opened one box with only one boot (the match nowhere to be found), and then a second box (different style) with two left-boots. When I interrupted two employees (who were busy chatting about how little they had to do) to point this out, they both gave me blank looks which suggested they could care less. I took a photo of the Timberland boot I wanted with the manufacturer information and bought them on Amazon (they fit great and I love them). Terrible customer service in the sneaker department. I went in and asked to try on Mizuno running sneakers. " I never heard of those EVER, we don't carry that brand". They have a majority of the products I look for. Their prices are very good compared to other sporting good stores in my opinion but service makes up for anything that may be slighty overpriced. I give this location 3 stars because of the uncleanliness of the men's room. The walls had a spray solution on them that was not wiped down urinal walls were not cleaned and someone had just serviced the bathroom by the signs of blue water in the urinals and toilets yet surfaces did not appear clean. I'm surprised that Yelp didn't have this registered on their site when I went to look for it to check-in on my phone on Sunday. They've been there for maybe 3 years cause I remember they were building or possibly renovating the building when I first moved here. This store is in the plaza next to Off Broadway Shoes and behind Longhorn. I don't mind this sporting goods store as they do carry more individual discs for disc golf while Sports Authority carries 3-sets which are typically for beginners. However, I do prefer Sports Authority for other things and that SA is in a better plaza next to my favorite shops like Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, and a pet shop. When I was looking for USA made New Balance sneakers, I looked at the mall, Sports Authority, and Dick's. I was disappointed that Dick's didn't really carry but like 2 New Balance shoes. Sports Authority does have more New Balance shoes to choose from and my husband bought his USA made NB's from there instead and I also found my pair at Off Broadway Shoes for $50! Dick's seems to be a bit more expensive than Sports Authority and they seem to be more flashy with name brands more than Sports Authority, too. I visited Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday, and experienced a comedy of errors as a result of a faulty website and crappy customer service. Actually, I can't complain about the customer service because that implies that there is some level of customer service. I had researched a Multi-Purpose Exercise Mat before visiting and the website said that the item was in stock at the Boynton location. So I drove over, looked for it and couldn't find it in the fitness area. I asked employee #1 if he could help me, and he pointed and said "yeah, it should be on that shelf, if not you can order it for delivery." He couldn't be bothered to walk the 25 steps to his right. So then I walked up front and asked a cashier/customer service person and he said "yeah, the website doesn't update quickly so we may not have it." I asked if any other stores locally (Wellington or Boca) had it and he replied "you can call them and find out." Gee, thanks for the help! Awesome advice! Don't do anything crazy like call them for me or assist in any way. I suppose with Sports Authority gone they are the only game in town (until they meet the same fate). A regular customer of Dick's SG at Boynton Beach,Fl., & never encountered an employee (cashier named wayne) who obviously does not know or not paying attention when being trained for PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE. He is preoccupied (shuffling a basketball with his both hands) to start with & diidnt even bother letting the customer know if he is ready to take u (which what he should have focused on than playing with the ball while on the clock). Me & my family were 1st in line so we waited for cashier wayne to tell us that he is ready or not, as we were patiently waiting & watching him to do so. The next thing we know another customer walked just pass by us & went straight to him. We see that he just took him so My husband & I said excuse me we were here 1st. As an employee with proper customer service training, you would have apologize to the customer who skipped us & said they were in line 1st but instead he went & argue with us siding the other customer, grinning like it is funny & kept arguing & insisting that we should have just come up to him. He never apologized not even diffused the situation instead walked away. So we called the manager (Brian) & he was kind enough to apologize for his behavior. wayne should not be dealing with customers period. Please note Dick's sporting goods corporate, this guy is not representing ur company well. He needs to be re-trained if not be trained, re-assigned or some desciplinary action. Avoid this Dicks store and forget working with their crappy manager Jim. I called to price a club and when I told them the PGA store had it for $100 cheaper I was told by the Dicks staff they would match the price but they needed to call the PGA store to verify the price. I just wanted a different color. I drove all the way to Dicks, their staff called the PGA store and verified the price. I was ready to check out and all of a sudden was told the Manager Jim said they would not honor the price or their word. I was told because it was a different color. I said that was a bogus excuse and asked to speak to the Manager Jim dircectly even the Dicks staff agreed that was not a reason to not honor the price. Well Jim would not come out of the back to speak to me directly, so he's a wimp. They then changed the excuse to we can't change the price in the system, another bogus excuse.
