Was also great for getting immediate access to Championship Gear when your team is lucky enough to win a Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Title and the like. I wanted a Yetti Insulated Can Holder to keep a can of Diet Coke cold. Normally I'd just order it on AZ, but they had it $10 less, so swung by and picked it up. We stopped here as we were in the area. My husband still needs some more Christmas gifts for his family, and we thought we'd check out this particular store. They had a number of items on sale. And some adorable socks that would have been "stocking" stuffers, but the one pattern I really liked, they didn't have in adult sizes and that's who I would be gifting. They have a bit of everything -- from clothing to equipment -- for all types of sports Anyway, after browsing around, my husband decided to just get a couple gift certificates. There wasn't that big a line midweek and in the middle of the afternoon. So that's what we did at the check-out counter. I received a gift from Dick's for my birthday totalling over $150, which I wanted to exchange for something else. I told the cashier that it was an exchange and had the merchandise on the counter and handed her the receipt. Instead of exchanging the merchandise, the cashier returned my entire gift and put it back on the card that was used to purchase the gift. I was never asked if I wanted the money refunded to the card. I told the cashier that she forgot to exchange the merchandise. However, she told me that once she put the transaction in, there was no way to back out of the transaction and that I was out of luck. I called the manager Brian over, who said there was nothing he could do and that I could not get an exchange or store credit. So I basically left the store without anything and minus a generous birthday gift. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! read more

I can't recall when I've had such great customer service. Our first experience was with Chandler, who was actually walking out of the store after having checked out, but when a colleague told him we were interested in baseball equipment he stopped and proceeded to help us pick out a bat for about 25 minutes off the clock! He was so helpful and answered all of our questions. What a superstar. Our second experience was a couple days later with Chaz in the shoe department when we were trying to find cleats. He was so amazing personable, and patient. My son was in between sizes so we probably tried on about 10 different pairs of shoes and he was not going to give up until he knew we found the right pair. Went to buy my son a bike for his birthday and the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced, sales associate was an older gentleman and couldn't be bothered to help us in any way. Asked about a bike we saw on like line and they guy was just rude, didn't want to help or seat up bike as there was not a floor model and made the whole experience super awkward and my kids left in tears, manager was no help and aloof over the whole situation. Was at Dicks the other day in Boca raton (441@glades). Some older guy back in sporting goods was helping my wife and I with a T101 treadmill. Asked him about assembling treadmill. He told me it's a difficult 2 man job which takes about 2 hours. Told me it's a lot of wiring. So, he wasn't talking to an idiot as I assembled many purchases. I politely asked him why all the wiring as it should just have a wire harness that connects into another. He said oh no it's way more complicated than that. So we left and 2 days later my wife purchased same treadmill at Fort Lauderdale store. She bought it home and i assembled the treadmill by myself and took me 20 minutes. Simple as could be and yes it was just a wire harness that connects into another. Wow do I hate people like this trying to rip you off instead of doing their job to help the customers. There are maybe 25 or so styles on the display rack. And out of all of the mid and high tops, at least 10 pairs, only two were in stock in my size. I wear an 11. Pretty common size. Not only was it a bust for me, but the sales guy was clearly unable to help figure out what else they may have had in stock in my size because the scanning tech they use does not allow him to find what other cleats they DO have in my size. I had to review this place simply because I was so disappointed in their lack of Florida teams merchandise and gear. Their selection is so small and not very diverse... they have like two rows worth of stuff just for Yeti! Seriously? I saw a few things for UCF, maybe a UF or FSU shirt. Nothing in regards to the Florida Panthers, which is what I was looking for. I've always found this place kind of overpriced. I was also looking at kayaks here and their sales are not great. So. It's official. Dicks is the most Un-American sporting goods store in the US. They got rid of everything guns including safes. They said it'll keep kids safer. I've had to go back and forth a few times now to get the rise items for my kids - I had a buy one get one and today - the item was not included in the buy one get one (as it was originally) -but "Brooke" the cashier without missing a beat said we're only suppose to exchange the exact she thing without charging, but don't worry about it. I miss Sports Authority. The employees are not very helpful. They use this complicated colored dots scheme and there is no place in the store to scan the price. Ask an employee and they tell you to go to the front registers to ask (sure- and either wait in line for a price check or interrupt other patrons in line). The store is not friendly for browsing. My first time at this location. Severely understaffed shoe department so they missed out in about $300+ in shoe sales. I needed to buy my two sons football cleats and two pairs of school shoes each (6 pairs of footwear). I guess I'll shop somewhere else for those because I waited for over 30 min and never received any help. The shoe inventory is in the back, I couldn't even help myself. At checkout, Vincent asked me if I found everything okay and I shared my dilemma about the lost opportunity in the shoe dept. He said, "oh, besides that, was everything else okay?"
