Wild experience today. An older creepy guy opened up all the sports card boxes and felt the packs looking for something in particular. Must have went through 200 packs. He picked out 8 and went and checked out. Employees and managers stood by and watched it happen claiming "he's technically not stealing". Obviously, do NOT buy any type of sports memorabilia here. I'm not a big sporting goods person but since I was shopping with two other people today I tagged along here because they wanted to pick up a couple of light weight fleece thingies for the cooler weather that we been having... I've been coming to Northpoint mall since I was in middle school and this shopping center has been here as long as the mall has been here...It's super busy on the weekend and traffic is impossible. Parking is just as hetic. Inside the store however we found the sales people to be really helpful and nice. The store is nicely laid out and the place is massive...you can spend hours in here...which I suppose is the idea. We ended up spending about an hour in here and then went around to grab lunch...had a good experience shopping here...would definitely return again...maybe on a weekday when its less crowded... read more

Complete lack of customer service. Item listed as on sale did not ring up correctly. Clueless cashier, Jalya told me it wasn't ringing up for the sale price. Jayla asked for assistance on her headset and from another cashier nearby. Jayla received no response for her request for help. So I'm just standing there with Jayla who tells me, "it was probably a different item". Zero initiative to assist in finding the correct price or to find a store manager to help. I was then told to go take a picture of the item. So I walk all the way to the back to the store to photograph item-- by the time I return was told, "Oh, the sign was put out this morning but the sale doesn't start until tomorrow". Jalya told me they would honor the price- thanks for the favor! Next time I'll order it on Amazon and loose the personal touch. Eddie is amazing! Thank you so much dicks for having such a gracious employees. My service dog was really tired, and I needed to get her some sort of wagon ;( Eddie checked us out, and I reluctantly asked if he would be able to help me out and take it out of the box and put it together. Believe it or not Eddie called someone over to the line to take over took out a box cutter and within two minutes, took it out of the box and put it together and made sure we were able to use it! This was the greatest Customer Service I've ever gotten in the store and I commend Dicks for all the help I received. I come here about once every two months or so, to get running-related stuff. I'm not a super-frequent customer. I was so put off by the robotic and curt nature from the staff on my recent visit, that it inspired me to leave a review. Kayah was my cashier - at least that was the name on the receipt. I went up to the register. No "Hello, how are you, did you find everything ok, etc." Just an immediate "do you have a rewards card with us" or some question to that effect. When I didn't hear the question well and said "I'm sorry, what was that?" Kayah seemed annoyed at having to repeat it, and very systematically barked out the spiel again at a louder volume. No smile. No thank you at the end of the transaction. No warmth whatsoever. I felt like just another number being cranked out. I'll probably go back the next time I need the particular product I go there for. It's a pretty cut-and-dry visit for me. I know where it is, I get it, and go. But man, they majorly need to improve the way they talk to their customers. I left feeling quite cold. Much, Much smaller than average. Why? It's a long drive to Academy, a Bass Pro Shop, or any other real sporting goods store. They could corner the market in this area. Did I mention it's small? Customer service is not very good here, they are understaffed and have some pretty abrupt people that work here. I took my fishing pole to them to have new line put on, never had issue before - he breaks the reel. I barely got a sorry out of it, no offer to replace it or give me a discount on a new reel - even though this was a nice mid range Pinnacle reel. Oh, and the place is small. Oh yeah, and Dicks in general is overpriced. So all things considering, make that drive and go somewhere bigger and better. read more

What these associates make in 4 hours we would spend on a couple of items....but sucks is watching the hourly rate and missing out on sales. One guy in shoes tonight and he was doing his best. I went to look for other Dicks staff members and it was like I was on an Easter Egg hunt on poison Ivy. If i could give 0 stars i would. Drove over an hour to buy a shotgun they had on sale. Had recently moved and not changed license yet. The employee that was working the firearms counter (Sandy) kept insisting in a very rude and abrasive manner on seeing my tax records for that address. When i told her i would not provide that for her, she refused the gun sale. Having owned over 25 guns, i know exactly how the background check works. Dicks, you have lost this customer. I would rather pay 50 bucks more and be respected and valued as a customer than have that experience again. SCAMMED, DISRESPECTED AND LIED TO! On Thursday, June 16th, I went to DICK'S to purchase a new firearm that went on sale that day. After spending 1.5 hours in there filling out paperwork, listening to their bullshit credit card sales pitch and waiting on slow employees, I was told that I'd need to come back to pick up my gun (I understand, the federal government sometimes take a few days, no big deal). I don't recall the man's name who helped me, but he was an elderly gentleman who works with the firearms. He wrote down everything about the pricing and gun purchase and initialed the paperwork before I left. After not hearing anything on Friday at all, I called back to see how the process was going. I was assured that they would contact me as soon as it was ready to pick up and that my serial number and price were locked in for me. Saturday evening I got a call that things had gone through. I thanked them and let them know I'd be in the following day to finish everything and pick up my gun. Everything seemed great, I was happy. Sunday I went in to pick up my gun. In good spirits, I also grabbed a few hundred rounds of target ammo and some critical defense rounds. I got to the checkout and as they rang up my gun, I noticed that it was full price. I spoke with a man named Elvis who was no help at all and told me he couldn't do anything at all. No discount, no store credit, no gift card, nothing. I asked him to check with management and he said that there was nobody for him to contact. At this point, I was so mad and just wanted to buy my damn gun and get out. I'd already ordered a holster, extra mags and night sights so I was committed to buying the gun at this point, even if it was a bait-and-switch that essentially scammed me out of $100. Long story short, I do believe Elvis. I believe that nobody at this company gives a shit. I believe I will ALWAYS go to REI over DICK'S and I will ALWAYS let people know about why. I might just be one guy and I might just spend a couple thousand a year at sporting goods stores, but at least I have integrity. I've never been so impressed with a company. I ordered online and sent to my son in a college town. Tracking number showed the package was delivered and left on the front porch, but my son never received it. It's likely it was stolen while no one was home. The shipping company takes no responsibility after the package has been delivered, so I called Dicks and explained what happened. They quickly and courteously refunded my money for one item they no longer had in stock and re-shipped (to a more secure address) the other item. No charge to me. Poor management continues to hire adequate staff and provides zero training for personnel. . Bought a gun safe online for an easy experience. Arranged delivery from the North Point Parkway Store located in Alpharetta, GA. Four cashiers later, someone figured out how to ring up a delivery charge. Four days later, I'm still waiting for my delivery. This is not a first instance, it's rare to have Dick's Sporting Goods honor any of their 'coupons' that they mail to me.... I really think this is a much better store than the one in Lenox. The store is smaller - only one floor compared to three in Lenox - but the sales associates are MUCH more helpful and they are actually fit, which lets me know they exercise too. I found the selection less diverse, but I like the layout of the store, especially when you walk in, because it is all very bright and enticing. Will definitely be coming back! read more

He proceeded to give me all the reasons he couldn't do it so when I said, "alright, I won't buy the rod then", he raised his voice and got stearn with me. In my mind I'm thinking "NO CASH FOR YOU!" This place is A-OK, to steal from Yelp. :P It's huge, it can outfit you for pretty much every sport imaginable, and the staff is helpful. I stopped by to pick up a swimsuit and goggles for my triathlon training and left not feeling like I'd been ripped off. Nothing about it swept me off my feet, but I also didn't want to run screaming out the door. My husband just left this store, he went in to purchase a fishing rod he saw previously on sale for $59.00 regular price was $119.00. He goes to the register to pay for it, and the young man tell him that he can't sell it to him for that price. There were 5 rods with the same sale price. He then asked to speak to the manager, and the manager refused to come to the area where the rods were on sale. My husband didn't put this sale ticket on this rod, he should have been allowed to purchase it, this was clearly their mistake if they want to tell the lie, to make themselves feel better. My husband lives at Dick's at least 3-4 times a week shopping there, I will venture to say they have lost one of their best customers. I hope no one else is having the same problem with them not following their own pricing! read more

LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE! I am in the market for a reclining weight bench that is heavy weight and of a higher quality than the ones I have seen in other stores. I also need it to have ample width, (for obvious reasons). I actually spotted a nice bench in Dick's that appeared to be solidly built and had the features that I wanted. The tag on this item said "Sale" along with the price but when I reviewed the item on line, I noticed that this is the everyday price and does not reflect a reduction. ATTENTION RETAILERS: IF YOU INDICATE THAT A PARTICULAR ITEM IS "ON SALE" WHEN SAID ITEM IS SOLD AT THAT SAME PRICE EVERY SINGLE DAY, YOU ARE LYING! STOP LYING TO THE PEOPLE AND SHOW SOME INTEGRITY PLEASE! I hate lying and dishonesty of any kind and as a consumer, I should be able to trust that the retailer is advertising honestly and accurately. There was no need to misrepresent the price of this item because it was reasonably priced and quality speaks for itself. Ugggh! That is so annoying! Anyway as a rule, I always verify the price on line and with other retailers before making a final decision. You should too, just to be sure. Although I will likely return to purchase this bench, I am eager to hear their explanation for the fake "sale" sign. Lucky for them, the guys in the hunting/sporting goods department will save them from the dreaded two star rating. I just think that it is interesting that the guys who sell the guns and ammunition seem to be the happiest and most content employees I have ever seen. They are always totally chilled and really seem to enjoy their job. They are perfectly "cast" in their roles. After staring at both of them for a while, I had an AHA moment: Their ID tags both described their passion as fishing. When I think of the key characteristics of the ideal fisherman, (easy going, patient, relaxed), I understand these guys' demeanor. Wanted a recumbent bike. They first overcharged me, had to show them their own advertised price on line. Ordered the bike, even took their offer of a 15% cash back with a new credit card. They used Select Express for delivery... or more like NON-delivery. 14 phone calls, over an hour waiting on hold, never got a delivery scheduled. Went back to the store, cancelled the order, called the credit card company and cancelled the card. Terrible experience. I now have about three-four hours invested in not getting the product I ordered. I see why everyone else is writing such bad reviews. read more

The service at this store is ridiculously bad. I continue to return because I really like the merchandise, but it's a place that succeeds in spite of itself, in terms of customer service. It always takes an eternity to check out, despite there always being 3 or 4 employees standing around nearby, but only one person on the register, with a line 6or 8 customers deep. Get a clue! Roswell location has the worst customer service I've experienced. The prize for the #2 worst goes to Dick's in Cumming. To make a long story short: I went to Roswell to buy a gun on sale - so my issue is with the poorly trained firearms counter help Took them 20 minutes to figure out they were sold out Left me standing there until I asked if another location might have it - it was a good deal They stared blankly at me - I suggested we call another store They gave me a phone number so I could call on my cell...myself. No attempt to call for me Cumming store has the rifle I go there and complete background check which is delayed for no known reason They tell me to call back periodically - No attempt to contact me so I can complete the sale I call back once, twice, three times, four times...I lost count after 8 or 9 weeks of calling They continue to tell me background check is delayed Ten weeks later I'm told my application has expired and I have to start all over No one mentioned that this application could expire - I was told to continue to call in for status I ask: if I do this all over again will you honor the original sale price No they tell me - its been too long Really, through no fault of my own...I'm done. This is why I buy on Amazon, Ebay and other online sites now more than ever. I get much, much better service and prices are more than competitive. read more

Worst location EVER. Their shoe section is a complete joke. They have almost NO shoes for you to try on. When I asked the employee if he had any gel kayanos in a size 8 in the back he just replied "I don't think so" then just wandered away. I approached him and asked if he could look for me.
