When I arrived, I realized that all of the shoes online are not necessarily carried within the store. They did have one of the shoes I had selected. I was able to try it on and walk around the store. The shoes were very comfortable, and they had many sizes between 9 and 12 in stock. However, they did not appear to have many wide shoes in stock. So, I will ultimately make my purchase online, but it was nice to go into the store and try on one of my selections. All of the staff who interacted with me were friendly and courteous. I'll definitely consider returning if I need to try on a pair of shoes, but I'll probably continue to make my purchases online. UPDATE: I went home that night and tried to order my shoes online. The email coupon would not work. It said that the coupon had expired which was not the case. I then started a chat session on their website. I found out that the coupon would not work with the shoes that I was purchasing. Apparently, almost every brand they carry is excluded from the coupons that they email their customers (see below). I don't think that I'll be making another purchase at DSW anytime soon. Fine print at the bottom of the coupon: Additional details: Excludes Birkenstock, Brooks, Crocs, Dr. Martens, Gucci, Hey Dude, HUNTER, Koolaburra by UGG, Michael Michael Kors, Minnetonka, Nike, ON, OOFOS, Rainbow, See by Chloe, Sorel, Stuart Weitzman, Tory Burch, UGG, and Vionic products, plus select adidas, Cole Haan, Columbia, Converse, Keen, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Merrell, Salomon, Skechers, Sperry, Steve Madden, Teva, and Timberland styles.

After striking out at the big department stores, she persuaded me into making the trek to DSW. Perhaps I do not look like the typical customer, what ever that may mean, however; immediately entering this store with the intention of purchasing their park avenue oxfords, I was approached - not greeted, by a stern older man with glasses. In the 15 minutes that I spent in the store, he did not take his eyes off of me for a second. Which made me uncomfortable. When I asked questions to see if he was just eager to help, he answered back short and matter-of-factly with an intense look. I continued browsing to see if he would let me be, but he continued to stare and began tapping on the table as if he were rushing me out. I have worked retail in the past and I can understand employees attempting to prevent theft, especially if shoplifting occurs frequently. This overt aggressiveness was shameful and unfortunate.

I would rate the service hit or miss. Like others have mentioned - sometimes I am delighted and other times I am disappointed, but because I love the quality and selection of merchandise so I will always come back! A salesperson who is not attentive or barely polite is a disincentive to buyers who can spend their money any place they choose. So to the Mgr of Sundance - do some coaching with your associates and select staff wisely. It's the difference between shoppers spending a couple of hundred dollars vs a couple of thousand.

The ones I wanted were not in store, but the sales person said they could be ordered and shipped to the store. When the salespeople rang up the order, they refused to take the 20% off, because it was "on in store purchases only". I call this BAIT AND SWITCH. The sales person brought out two other pairs of Kork Ease shoes in another style, but of course they were not what I wanted. This store is always hit or miss, some of the associates are nice, others not so much. The BAIT And switch tactics are not what I expected from Sundance, and I have no idea why they would do this. Have no desire to go back anytime soon if they take advantage of loyal customers.

Good selection of used equipment for almost any sportsy-type stuff at decent prices. It's not the…read morekind of place for people that absolutely must have a brand-new bat...and I've known people like that. There is apparently, among some tiny sub-segment demographic group, a stigma attached to purchasing used things. I'm not goofy like that. I'm goofy in other ways. If you roll up with sports equipment to sell, you'll get three offers, in ascending order of monetary value: 1) An outright price to sell them the items. This is the smallest amount of cash that you'll get. To be precise, you'll leave with a check, not cash. Who does that in 2013? Play It Again Sports does, that's who. 2) A slightly higher offer in trade value on items in the store. Presumably, you can use the credit value immediately...but I'm not certain. 3) The highest figure is if you want to consign your stuff and share the proceeds with the proprietor(s). Of course, you might sit around for months before your stuff sells. I took my beautiful lady's son down with a load of gear that they didn't use or need any longer. We took the deal to sell the equipment outright. I thought that it was a fair offer. Others might be offended by the fractional valuation of the item relative to the original cost. Don't be. When you buy sports crap, you're paying a premium for discretionary goods. The markups are clownish. If you can't use the stuff any longer or it's taking up too much space, just go to PIAS and sell it to them. You might be able to get more money for it on Craig's List, but then you have to deal with functional retards that will try to talk you down to pennies on the dollar. You could list a kilo ingot of pure gold for $10 on Craig's List and nobody would buy it. But you'd have 37 jackasses pester you on the phone, offering you $3.18 or less. I chalk it up to the curious phenomenon that I term "Stuff that nobody understands." Friendly folks, lots (mountains, even) of sports gear, good prices. You need sports stuff, they have it. Go buy some. Or go sell some. Whatev.
