There was only one person there handling the place while I was here and his name was Boden shipp and I amazed me with his great attitude and the way he served me #Bodenshipp4LIFE read more

My niece recommended Dickies over Kohrs. Could not believe how good the custard was. I used to be a big Kohrs fan but this is now my new favorite beach ice cream. Best part is while Kohrs has long lines, this is a big secret I hope people don't learn about. read more

Yum. The store is just a few feet from a popular ice cream chain. It is worth the visit. I appreciate being able to sample flavors. The orange an vanilla swirl are wonderful. The employee offered a cone with the cup. I adore ice cream cones but it was too hot to have ice cream dripping down the cone. There are benches in front of the store. read more

There is a lot of ice cream places on the Bethany Beach boardwalk, but I decided to give Dickey's a try after seeing it on Man vs Food. With that being said, I ordered a chocolate shake and it was delicious. To explain, the shake was creamy, sweet, and flavorful. In addition, shake was the perfect thickness. It was thin enough to drink, but thick enough so it didn't taste like chocolate milk. It was definitely one of the better shakes I've had. To be blunt, Dickey's has top notch chocolate shakes. read more

Dickey's Frozen Custard - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bethany Beach, Delaware

We tried Dickey's on the boardwalk yesterday when we were at the Elvis concert. The line moved quickly and they accepted cash and credit cards. Their prices were very reasonable for being right on the boardwalk. I got a small ice cream, which was 2 scoops and only $5.50. I had the mint chocolate chip and espresso chip, both were very good! read more

Dickey's Frozen Custard - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bethany Beach, Delaware

Quick service at Dickey's for ice cream. It's counter serve, so you take your ice cream to go especially since their lights are normally off and it's pretty casual. Their soft serve is good. Though they have orange and vanilla twist, I really miss the tangerine and vanilla twist soft serve. read more

Very good custard, friendly employees, but I'm not sure that it seems very different from Kohr's custard. They always have long lines, but it seems to move pretty quickly. read more

Really delicious hard ice cream! Soo good I forgot to take pics. Very friendly service . This place serves hard ice cream and soft serve ice cream. It also has hard shell chocolate toppings, waffle cones, they serve generous portions. A small is two scoops and the kiddie cone is one. read more

Deliciousness - 4/5 Happiness - 5/5 There are two locations, one right off the beach and a second next to Pomodoro Pizza. I was surprised how nice this ice cream was. I got soft serve dipped in a chocolate shell and rolled in sprinkles. I really liked the thick shell and different textures. The ice cream itself was just OK. It is very thick, which is unusual for soft serve. It also melts extraordinarily fast, so be careful to grab a stack of napkins. The employees were very safe (all wore masks and gloves) did a great job social distancing, and were very friendly too. read more

The custard here SLAPS. There are so many yummy flavors to choose from. My girlfriend and I went here and needed to go back the next night because it was so good. The red velvet ice cream I got had little chunks of cake in it that was phenomenal. They give very big servings too which is great. 100% recommend, and don't forget to add hot fudge and a cherry!! read more

Don't bother...custard made me, my wife, and my daughter all feel bad. My wife and daughter couldn't finish theirs as it didn't taste quite right. This place lied on Man V Food and does not do peach or blueberry shakes...it only did them one time for the show...shame on this place and the show for letting this lie happen! read more

Those who know Bethany, know Dickeys. Often a line but it goes really fast. The ice cream is delish, and the staff are helpful young people having a good time. It's a fun environment and you can have a seat outside the front or around the side to enjoy your scoops or do what most do and walk around. Our family looks forward to our Dickeys experience every summer. I wish we could buy Dickeys t shirts. It's a Bethany institution. read more

Soft frozen vanilla custard was excellent. The vanilla custard milkshake was good. Great location right off of the beach. read more

Dickey's Frozen Custard - Outside - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bethany Beach, Delaware

Really good and super thick custard. Wasn't many places to sit but that's the fun of the boardwalk you can just walk around with your ice-cream :) read more

This place has delicious hand dipped ice cream plus yummy frozen custard. I went there 3 times during my week at Bethany. Their regular size is huge. It's very hard to eat before it melts, but is completely worth it. I love Banana ice cream which is rare to find, but they had it! It was as good or better than Dumsers from Ocean City. They did a great job of getting people through quickly in groups during Covid restrictions. They also take credit cards. There is a 15 minute parking area right out front but there is no seating area inside. You can walk or find a bench to sit nearby. read more

I stopped in Dickey's Frozen Custard to pick up a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. The employees were very friendly, and the milkshake was actually very creamy and flavorful. The location is a bit odd, as it's off to the side of the main boardwalk. Also, it's quite a small place so it can be pretty cramped and crowded. However, great milkshake for a decent price. Will definitely return! read more

Wow! Great service, great ice cream! I much prefer Dickey's to Kohr's. They have rich, flavorful ice cream in so many flavors your head will swim. The soft serve is good too but I always go for the ice cream. Black cherry is to die for and the chocolate peanut butter is insane. Don't miss this place at the beach. read more

I came here with a friend to get custard on a hot July afternoon. It was the perfect way to beat the heat! They have a ton of toppings, including hardened chocolate, sprinkles, and more. I opted for a classic twist cone with chocolate sprinkles. It was delicious! read more

Every summer I have to get my fix of the nutty buddy! Custard here is amazing! Don't waste your time at the other ice cream or custard shops. This is the real deal! Love it. read more

Good ice cream, good variety of flavors but most are the regular stuff you can find pretty much anywhere (cookies n cream, different chocolate varieties, birthday cake, etc). Prices seem on par with other similar ice cream shops in the area. Nothing particularly special, but the ice cream is good so I'm not complaining. read more

If I am ever unsure about getting a milkshake anywhererlse, worrying I will miss out on a great milkshake, I remember Dickey's frozen custard milkshakes, remembering they have the best milkshakes I have every had, and realizing whatever milkshake I could get won't be as good as Dickey's usually opt out of wherever else I was going to get it. Best Milkshakes I have ever had, custard to die for, friendly staff. I look forward going there whenever I go to the beach. read more

The best frozen custard in the area, although the only flavors are chocolate and vanilla. (They have other flavors of regular ice cream though!) We've been coming here for years, and Dickey's always hits the spot. Note: The Dickey's in Bethany is sort of tucked away from the main boardwalk. You have to go off the main Boardwalk road to find it. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for some rich frozen custard. read more

The frozen custard was a little thick and boring. Tried both chocolate and vanilla, they were both a little plain. I thought the texture was off too, it seemed fluffy like frozen whipped cream rather than rich creamy ice cream. But man o man the Tangerine frozen yogurt is freaking bomb!! I could eat this every day! Its the best swirled with the vanilla frozen yogurt (which was a much better consistency than the vanilla custard). The tangerine/vanilla swirl is like a cracked out creamsicle! Go here and order the vanilla/tangerine swirl! The butterscotch & chocolate dips are super good too :) (Although quite messy on a really hot day!) read more

I developed a fond appreciation for Dickey's when I worked at 16th and K Street in Downtown DC in the mid 90s. I used to go get Dixster shakes almost daily. Unfortunately, this experience wasn't as I had remembered. The custard was heavy and lacked flavor. If you are in the mood for frozen custard at the beach, head to Kohr Brothers. read more

I love frozen custard. I have had Kohr Bros and other brands many times, and every time I have Dickey's, I wonder why I would try any other brand! The custard is so smooth and creamy, you will not believe it. I also like the fact that there is a "kids size" option for only $3.75, which is really all that is needed sometimes. I stick with the chocolate, but the vanilla and the swirl are good also. Not a lot of flavor choices, but who cares, when the texture is so-o-o-o delightful! read more

Gave a star because I had to. The most gross, non flavorful custard I have ever wasted money and calories on. It was actually gritty! Gritty custard? After I was served the kid warned the next person not to get the vanilla custard.. How do they manage to keep their prime location on the boards? Stay away!!!! read more

Outstanding service - quick lines too. Kohr's Brothers is okay but if you want authentic ice cream go to Dickey's. We visited on a Sunday night in August, we had to walk around the 100s of people visiting Kohr's just to walk two doors down for better ice cream and service. So glad we did. read more

I really enjoyed the chocolate/vanilla swirl. Went here by default since Kohr bros. Was closed. Dickey's had great service and value. The small cone is quite large. read more

Dickey's Frozen Custard is a Bethany Beach tradition. We go there almost every day we are down there... sometimes more than once a day. They have far and away the best frozen custard in the Ocean City to Lewes area. If custard isn't your thing they also have delicious hard ice cream and low fat soft serve ice cream. Plus the staff is so friendly and helpful. The line is almost always out the door, but its worth the wait and it always moves fast. I am not really sure what the beach would be without Dickeys! Man I want some right now! read more

Great custard and ice cream. Poor upkeep - both stores in Bethany Beach are filthy. The outside seating area on Pennsylvania Avenue is over grown with weeds. The furniture is dirty and needs paint. Busy stores require regular maintenance and cleaning. read more

Incredible. Amazing. The best you can get anywhere. This custard is in a different league than Kohr's. Take the few extra steps to have a truly special dessert. read more

Went to the boardwalk to get Kohr Bros and the line was too long so we went into Dickey's. My cousin and I both got soft serve swirl but they didn't tell us before that the machine wasn't working properly. When he handed our ice cream, he offered to give us large cups to put under our small cups since the vanilla custard was not at all frozen. The custard was oddly warm and a mess. We both ended up throwing away our $5 ice cream after a couple of bites. Very disappointed that we were not warned before ordering the custard, we would have happily ordered ice cream instead. read more

Best frozen custard I've had. Doesn't try to pass as ice cream, super rich tasting and dense. We get kids size and it's like a typical small or medium adult size, plenty. We can't go anywhere else since we are all hooked on Dickeys. They also have good regular hard ice cream and low fat soft serve. Cash only. read more

Best frozen custard in all of Delaware. It's a tradition for our family to go there every year.
