There is no greeting, no acknowledgement that you're there because they're talking amongst themselves. When you are finally approached , there is no smile just a stare. I've been living here 5 years and it seems to get worse by the year. When I went to pay , I was ignored again. The three of them were talking to someone who had just walked in. I just stood , hating how insolent they were. Eventually I paid and the tall blonde basically threw my cup of ice cream across the counter! If I hadn't caught it , it would have landed on the floor. The prices are very reasonable too for such high quality ice cream. I had a milkshake with brownie ice cream that I wouldn't order again. The milkshake was blended too finely so I didn't get any chunks of brownie. But the finely blended brownie just made the milkshake a bit gritty. Next time I'll stick with the ice cream so I can get the full flavor and textural effect. I also stopped by for a mocha the next day and it was delicious. They did a great job balancing the chocolate and espresso (I like my mochas on the sweeter side). But really, the staff sells this place. They are all young teenagers who were enthusiastic and provided quick service. They never seemed frazzled and despite epically long summer lines. They fulfilled each order with great speed. I also liked that they had two tip jars, one to vote for sharks being the coolest aquatic animal and the other for dolphins (I voted team shark because, I'm sorry, NOTHING is cooler than a shark. haha my friends and I came here 2 days in a row because we were obsessed with it. On the first day, we tried their acai bowls and their muffins. The acai bowls were good, but the muffins were AMAZING. They were super moist and had a creamy filling in the middle. The 2nd day, we tried their ice cream. What I really loved about this place was that they put little descriptions under each flavor. So many places make up these names for their ice cream, but you have no idea what actually makes up the flavor. I forgot the exact name of the one I tried (I think it might've been the Guatemalan Ripple), but it was a coffee based one and it was soo yummy. It was creamy and not too sweet. I do not recommend this place at all based on their extremely poor customer service. I looked on their website, I looked on yelp, I reviewed their menu, and then I drove 30 miles to get an açai bowl. Upon arrival, 30 minutes before they were closing, I was informed that they do not make bowls if they are busy. There were two other people online besides myself. They should hope they're busy. They should plan on being busy. And they shouldn't have anything offered on their menu or on their website that they can't make when they are busy. That is pitiful customer service and poor business management. I even explained the fact that I had driven a long way just based on their website which did not mention any limitations, and none of the employees cared, nor did the manager type person who came out of the back. read more

The flavor was amazing and the only thing I would have changed is more Heath in the ice cream. Service is top-notch; before deciding on a flavor, asked to taste three different ice creams and the staff was more than accommodating and so helpful and nice. Love this place! Every year at Sea Colony I stop here for my espresso. Sun, Mon, Tue I was charged around $4 for a Triple espresso. Reasonable market rate (Starbucks $3.25). Today I was charged over $8. When I tried to ask why the price increase I was told bluntly it's always $2.75 x 3. This is now an overpriced location. We have been coming here for multiple years and this year was disappointing. If I could give zero stars for lack of customer service and rudeness I would. Our kids have food allergies and when we asked if the chocolate or cotton candy contained egg the server said, "I think they all have eggs. You can only have vanilla." We explained that we have been here and the servers always double check ingredients and help us find appropriate flavors that are safe. We asked if there was any way to find out ingredients, and the server said no. We were looking at containers and noticed that some did have ingredients listed. We inquired about them and the server said, "you can have it at your risk, not mine!" It felt as though we did not want to be served and left feeling upset and disappointed. I explained to the person that we have been coming here for years and your staff was always accommodating and I wished you could have been more helpful. She walked away as I was talking! We were staying across the street at Sea Colony and went here several times. The ice cream was really good. I'm not sure what kind it is or they make it there, but we had lots of flavors and they were all good. The portions are HUGE so don't go to large with your size. My son loved the smoothies. My sister and I came to Ba Roo's tonight to get some ice cream after dinner. We are new residents to the area and always come to get coffee and ice cream. We love the service and they always do a great job. On top of that they were very accommodating to clean the scoop when I told her I had a nut allergy. While ordering our ice cream, a lady behind us came in to get an açaí bowl. The girls informed her that they do not serve açaí bowls during peak evening hours as it was informed on the board. The lady got very upset and treated the girls very disrespectful with inappropriate language and added at the end that she was going to write a review. These girls are 16 and doing their very best. My sister and I were so shocked to hear how they were treated, and we wanted to let them know that they do a great job and were sorry that they were treated that way. Always a favorite place to come when my family takes a beach trip! The workers are always friendly & ready to help with questions or sampling. Both the ice cream & açaí bowls never disappoint, & it's the perfect place to just sit and chill for a little while after a long beach/pool day. Will say the bowls are a little pricy, but worth it! This place is a major rip off! We saw that it was 6 dollars for a large (3 scoops). We thought that was a bit much, but since we were already there, we decided to go ahead. What we got was very disappointing, the ice cream didn't even reach to the top of the cup. It was hardly 2 scoops. The ice cream was okay, no better than the generic store brand. Which by the way you could get a gallon of for the same price. All of this was after waiting 10 minutes in a long line. It was terrible! All the poor souls waiting in line to get ripped off. Decent ice cream. Cute place. I am always the one to want the local business to make it. Problem here is the service is very slow. I spend the summer in this area and try to go to this place at night near dusk a couple of times each week. So do lots of others.... When not busy it still takes a long time to get scooped and pay. Odd the way it goes but it is always the same inefficient routine. On a busy night the line can be 20 people long. Several times we walked out as we saw at best a person or 2 actually get scooped and pay inside a few minutes. A wait of 20 to 30 minutes was likely. Since we always walk there we just walk home if we see this size line then jump in a car and hit a shop in Bethany town. Same ice cream and maybe even eaten before we would have gotten served at Ba Roos. I shake my head and wonder if owner realizes how many sales are lost on a nice summer night.... read more
