Took it to my dad for his birthday, parents loved it so much we had them cater our Christmas party. I really enjoyed the food and love the sauce. But I went on Saturday 4/27, and my friend and I stood at the order area in front of an employee for ten minutes before we were even acknowledged. Must've been eight employees on the clock, not a single one of them working, and the manager was walking around completely oblivious. When we were finally asked what we wanted, the guy looked at us and said he'd need help. He pick up a ham wrapped in cellophane from the chopping block to put back in the hot box and when he tossed it in, he missed and the ham hit the floor. He then PICKED IT UP AND PUT IT BACK ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK WITH THE OTHER FOOD. We immediately turned and left, too disgusted to say anything. It's sad because the food was such a hit at Christmas I thought we'd make it a tradition, but I will NEVER go back to this place EVER again. read more

visited here for the first time tonite. The ribs are very good, sauce has a unique flavor, free ice cream, very clean inside and owner or manager comes around to all tables and asks how the food is. Beans were good, fries just ok, somewhat soggy but well seasoned, good cornbread, wish the ribs were hotter and though they do fall off the bone, they had a little more fat than I cared for. Completely unhappy with this experience at DIckies!!! Ordered box lunches for a customer meeting - they would not give us individual orders for each lunch - even though the last time we ordered box lunches-they did exactly that. They ended up providing us with a completely unacceptable lunch for this meeting. All of the participants had expectations of a specific sandwich, chips, cookies and a side that they picked. Angry, irritable counter service. Acted like the customers dying a slow death in line were a burden. Food was unbelievably overpriced for the quality and quantity served. Dickies is McDonald's quality on a bad day with expensive pricing. This Commerce Dickies even features kids sweeping right next to your table while your family is trying to eat their dinner in an obvious attempt to chase them out of the restaurant with more than an hour left before closing. My wife and I visited Dickey's in Commerce on Saturday February 10, 2018 and it was a very pleasurable experience. It was our first time and the young lady and young man behind the counter were very friendly and accommodating. It is cafeteria style so we placed our order, got our drink cups and picked out a table. I order the Brisket sSandwich Special and my wife ordered the 2-meat Platter (pork & brisket). I had Mac&Cheese and Baked Beans as my 2 sides and my wife had Creamed Spinach and Loaded Mashed. We both added a Cornbread as well. Our order came quite quickly and we then noticed that there was no sauces on the table but we found their sauses next to the drink station and there were 3...Sweet, Medium, and Spicy...and they are served hot. The food and sauces had wonderful flavor and it was nice to put hot sauses onto hot food. This is different than any other place around and was a very nice touch. Additionally, as we were leaving I asked if they smoked their meats their in house and the gentlemen said that yes they did. Everything was fantastic and we will definitely be back. read more

I go in for lunch on the weekend and the place was empty; as in I was the only customer. Cost over $16 for a drink with two kiddie portioned sides(took this term from another review of Dickey's) and two kiddie portioned meats. Mac N Cheese was just sad, confused on how you screw that up? And the the creamy spinach is a lie: youre ordering spinach soup; i took 3/4 small bites to try it and stopped. For the price tag the quality wasnt there and neither were the portions. We had a big party so we got one of the big combinations with a lot of sides. All of the meat was moist and tasty and was not overpoweringly smoky (like some of the BBQ joints I have been to in Kansas City), This store is much better than the other Dickies I visit when passing thru Dallas airport. We made mini - (pulled pork / chicken / brisket) sandwiches out of the rolls - I saw one review mention that there was no sauce - we found 3 kinds at the condiment area - they were all tasty. I had the three rib platter. It came with two sides and a drink. I choose Mac and cheese and onion tanglers which are petty much just oddly shaped onion rings. I'm sorry to say that it was the worst Mac & cheese I've ever had and the ribs were pretty tasteless even with BBQ sauce. The tanglers were actually pretty good though. Went to Dickey's for a carry-out, spent $38.00 on polish sausage and pulled pork sandwiches. When I got home, the rolls were missing and the pulled pork was tasteless with no smoke flavor. It reminded me of an Arby's sandwich, although it was supposed to be smoked pulled pork. The polish sausage was unedible, didn't even want to feed it to my dog. What a disappointment! We will not be going back, even to pick up the forgotten rolls. read more

I can't believe anyone would give this so called barbecue pit anything more than 1 star. They get it just for trying. I consider myself a a bit of a barbecue fanatic as I grew up in the south and have been to real barbecue joints all over the country. This fast food, strip mall store is way over priced. The sauce is bland, I wish i would have brought my own. I ordered a sandwich from the board expecting sliced beef brisket on a large sesame seed bun. Instead I got chopped beef on a small hamburger bun, but they rolled the bun in butter...lol. I can't believe Scott D even mentioned Slow's in his review of this fraud of a barbecue pit. While we were so excited to try out the new Dickey's, here in Commerce, we were VERY disappointed. Upon arriving, on a Saturday at 6:15PM, there was a line that ended just inside the door. (Approximately 25 to 30 feet from the counter). It took us 45 minutes to get to the counter! Obviously their system needs a serious looking at. Once at the counter we ordered then moved down to the cashier where our food was brought to us. The orders were wrong. They straightened them out and we found seats and began to eat. I had the ribs and they were burned. I also had the okra and they were far too salty. My wife had the chicken dinner and found her food salty as well. My order consisted of 6 burned ribs, a small cup of coleslaw and order of fried okra and a roll for $12.00. My wife ordered the bbq chicken with a small cup of green beans, a small cup of potatoes and a roll. My drink was extra. Our bill was $25.18 and judging from the portions, the burned ribs and salty food we paid way too much! We decided that we won't be going back read more

My wife and I were looking forward to trying the food from this relatively new place in our area. We ordered take out. What we ordered was two of the Big Barbeque sandwiches and I got two sides - the fried Okra and the cole slaw. What a major disappointment! I guess we should have watched them make the sandwiches. Both were relatively small, especially for the price. One was the sliced brisket (which is what we ordered for both) and one was shredded brisket. Both were dry meat on a dry bun with a couple of sad looking pickles and a couple of ring of raw onion. There was no barbeque sauce on them, nor was any offered at the time of the order. They do offer a barbeque sauce as an extra on their menu. I thought that was some sort of different sauce than would normally be expected to be on a barbeque sandwich. Not so at Dickies, apparently. The side were very good, but I don't think we'd go back for the sides. This Dickie's anyway is one that we will avoid in the future. Too bad really, because we could use a good BBQ place in the rea. read more

I am a big fan of BBQ and with the first step inside the door, as the succulent aroma of the on site hickory smoking process filled my nostrils, I was hooked!! The meats are perfectly smoked, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. So good you don't even need sauce, but with sauce as good as this here, it would be a mistake not to smother your meat with it.Then you have the sides! Each one better than the next. Even the fried okra was delicious, and that's a tricky food to prepare properly. Everyone I've encountered here have been exceptionally friendly people, who don't act like they are happy to see you when you walk in the door. Very clean and inviting environment. Wow great meal, we have eaten there three times now and everything we have tried has been excellent. The customers in the booth next to ours we discussing it and they thought it was better than Slows, not having been there I can't comment on that. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich, but I tried the ribs on Friday and they were also good. Had to wait about 15 minutes to order but we were not in a rush so it didn't matter to us. Yum!!! I ordered the beef brisket and it was mouth watering delicious!!! My 2 and 4 year old ate more than they do at home and as we were leaving asked if we could come back tomorrow to eat again! That speaks volumes considering they don't have the "toy" with the meal that makes kids want to go to say McDonalds. I tasted all of the different items we had and can't find 1 thing to complain about... it was all great including the free ice cream for dessert which was a special treat as we normally don't get dessert when eating out.
