Dick's Sporting Goods has always been my go-to place for sports equipment, apparel, or shoes. They have an extensive selections of everything in stock. The employees are very helpful, and knowledgeable in their respective department. In addition, they always have a door greeter as you walk in. I find this very helpful because i have a tough time navigating through the store to find certain items. We stopped by looking for a replacement pair of Crocs while visiting Vermont. During a kayaking trip, my son accidentally lost one when it floated away. We figured Dick's Sporting Goods would have us covered. My son found a pair of Spider-Man Crocs on the sales floor and tried on several sizes to find the right fit. When we went to check out, we were told they couldn't sell them to us. That was extremely disappointing. If they're not available for purchase, they shouldn't be displayed on the sales floor for customers to try on. It was a frustrating experience and a waste of our time. read more

This store is terrible. They are always out of everything in the shoe department and trying to get help is an exercise in futility. They were quite rude on the phone when I tried to call in advance about sizes. They were quite rude when I went in with my son to buy cleats. I won't be shopping here at all in the future. I'm quite disappointed because I've ordered quite a few things online for delivery that I love, however I went in on August 9th to drop off my tennis racquet to get restrung, and I was told it would take 10-14 days. I still haven't heard from them, so today, August 26th, 17 days later, I called them. After being put on hold for a bit I was told "it looks like no one has touched your racquet yet". When I informed the person on the phone of the day I dropped it off, he asked me what day it was, and then told me he would "light a fire" under them. I will never be bringing my racquet back to Dick's to be restrung. TL;DR: *DO NOT* go here to get your racquet restrung, unless you have a month until you need it. read more

Admittedly, Dick's Sporting Goods carries an excellent supply and a variety of seasonal sporting goods. Here in Vermont it is one of the few places where I can go to get sporting equipment for my kids. The quality of the equipment has always been quite acceptable, even if their prices are a bit high. That said, my last two experiences have been something very shy of acceptable. As I mentioned it's the only place around here to get new sporting equipment. Walmart is a good fallback location, but no fun to shop in. The last two times that I shopped at Dick's, I walked out frustrated, and this last time I practically sore them off for good. I tried to pay for my $35 purchase using a debit card (the visa option without pin), but it did not work. After several attempts on a couple of different debit cards, I switched to a regular credit card. That didn't work either. Their next suggestion was that I enter my own credit card information to complete the transaction. The last time I was here, I did that. But the whole thing just really bothers me. I pay a premium to go to a place like Dick's Sporting Goods so I feel like part of the high prices that I pay should go to the salaries of the cashiers. If the cashiers aren't going to do any work, then why are they there? So they should enter my credit card number and not make me do it. If their scanning equipment doesn't work then maybe it's time to upgrade it or change it. If they don't want to do that, that's fine but then let their employees enter the numbers, not their paying customers. I realize that self checkout is all the rage now. I'm fine with self checkout, but The new adjust the prices to a lower overhead and make sure that your equipment works. In the file analysis, Dick's Sporting Goods is fine, as long as you're only going to pay cash. read more

Dicks has just about everything you need for sporting good. The store is nicely kept and well stocked but expect higher prices here than other sporting goods stores. Dicks is a "higher end" chain store. Dicks has a GREAT exchange policy! I can only speak for my water bottle but they replaced it after a yr and with no receipt! It had a leak in it and they exchanged it, no questions asked - awesome customer service! read more

Well I used to be a pretty faithful dicks shopper, this past Black Friday sale was the straw that broke that, for 2 weeks I was getting Black Friday sales flyers 25% off everything in the store But you had to order by Friday online, I ordered and bought 2 tree stands and didn't get the 25 percent discount, I paid with PayPal so I drive an hour to the store on Friday and encountered a lady that didn't really seem to happy to help me out, long story short the tree stands were not 25% off, it was in small print on the store display! Why couldn't it say that on the numerous sales flyers I would not of purchased them, this is not the first time they have fooled me into going into the store, their web site sucks especially if you want to use their coupons and your gift cards! read more

Very good store except for the golf department. Whenever I go to try new clubs or buy balls I never get help by the lady that works there. Instead, I'm constantly being peered at and if I try a club in the simulator I'm immediately confronted and insulted. I'll be doing nothing wrong and will be yelled at for something. It's a very unfriendly and uncomfortable environment here and would highly recommend going to clubs around the area as they will respect you and give you good advice unlike here. Also, the lady has no clue what she is talking about, she is not up to date on any of the new clubs or equipment and couldn't seem to care less. I always find myself having to look things up instead of asking her. read more

This store has come a long way since it still opened here. They've done a major remodeling. I really like the checkout area "Best Buy" style. It seems to move faster and more efficiently. The aisles in the store seem a bit wider and the layout of the area is very neat and organized. It's a great store for just browsing. Although I do have to say that using the "shelf-mounted pricing" gets annoying when some of the items are mis-shelved or without a price on the shelf at all. I wasn't real thrilled to find that when I was shopping for bike pumps. Not a lot of floor help in this store either for some reason. A sports equipment store really could use that as a lot of people are shopping for kids' sports and sometimes won't know what tthey need to get or how to figure out what's best for the money. read more

Dick's is a great location. Even more so after they got remodeled! So our Dick's store is pretty big. A ton to pick from! They sell anything from sports clothing to outdoors gear! So I have came in here a few times. Came out happy with what I have bought! As you walk in you will notice the store is very clean. They had added more room over the years as well and even expanded their product some. So you can walk in here and spend a good hour just looking around if you wanted too. They have staff every where! So if you have questions they will be able to answer it for you. From what I have seen the staff is pretty helpful. I have seen where a friend of mine tried to buy ammo from here. Because he had a high school hoodie on they would not sell to him. He even had ID and he was clearly in his 40s...So this is a huge minus on my part. He worked for this said school! He shoots for fun in his free time at home....So its kinda strange. Over all the prices seem ok. They still don't compete with some other retailers like LL Bean. Sad enough we don't have an LL bean in our area. So they sorta win this by default! So if you need it now and willing to pay a little more for it they will be able to set you right up! Other wise the internet will be your friend! So over all I go here from time to time ot look around. Its really good if your in need of some nice gloves or hat. Black Friday they even offer some good deals on jackets and what not. Its worth a trip in if for no other reason to just look around! A-OK 3/5. read more

Lady at golf desk when she's there is very very rude went in today though for new clubs no one there to help asked around got nothing

I saw a pair of Air Jordans that I liked and I requested the sales associate for my size. After few minutes later they return and say that I am not allowed to try on both sides of the shoe, but only one side of the shoe, which I found weird but I tried the one shoe on anyway. I liked the shoe and they fit well so I wanted to try the other foot, but for me to do that I had to give back the left side of the shoe that I had tried on to be allowed to try on the right side of the shoe. Now the right side fitted well and I inform the sales associate that I want to buy the shoes, to which they reply "They are not allowed to give me the merchandise as a whole (both sides of the shoe in the box) to bring to the cash register but that they had to take it there themselves and escort me there in order for me to buy the shoes." This is outright discriminatory behavior. I have spoken to their customer service department and they said that a representative will be contacting me. Lets see if they do. read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Had to get a large number of things for a teenage baseball player. Spent over an hour in the store wearing a mask. By the time the cashier finally figured out what to charge me for getting a new glove steamed I couldn't breath and just wanted to leave. Bad mistake. 2 items were overcharged and Dick's online customer service and a phone call to the store can't fix it. I have to make the 45 minute each way trip out in the Corona Virus world to get my 20 bucks back. I also get the added bonus of putting that much more exhaust into our environment. read more

Dick's is fine by me. They have a large selection and a good return policy. I've always found what I needed and have never had any hassles. I like that I can shop anonymously even if that means I have to look a little if I do need help. I really don't like being treated by the corporate handbook so I prefer to do my own research when shopping at a store like Dick's. My daughter and I went this April to buy a kayak for her, We looked at their selection which was ample. Three or four of the staff greeted us as they walked by. However, no one asked to help us. We were ready to buy. After 30 minutes we gleaned all the information we could from the charts they had displayed, left disappointing. We went to Eastern Mountain Sports where they were happy to inform us about kayaks. We spend our $1000 there. read more

It's a big store and they usually do a good job of featuring in-season sports with larger displays and more in-store choices. You can definitely find what you need, though I am disappointed by their selection of baseball gloves. I also don't like the Dick's exclusive products. I go there for the selection of name brand equipment, not equipment I can only get there. read more

I love the selection, but it can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know exactly what your looking for. The staff is nice enough..but the store is so large sometimes it feels like you can't find anyone.
