Great location with stunning views to sit back enjoy whilst ploughing into a very well cooked dinner. I have had both the honey and ginger glazed belly pork and also the steak and kidney pudding. I would say the pudding was my favourite but only as it comes as a larger portion. They also have a good selection of beers with the Black Sheep and Xingu the standard two and a special ale most of the time. I got to enjoy the Butcombe rare bread which was amazing. I would highly recommend it especially on Wednesdays as it is their Pie day awesome! read more

A village inn chain pub / restaurant. Set in the idilic countryside in bingley this is a great place to bring some friends / family, sit in the beer garden and catch some sun (radiating off the snow?). The hills around Bingley are spectacular and the view is second to none in this little village. The menu is the same as all other Village Inns, including chefs specials. The food is good and hearty, with some tasty starters. Cooked well, although the lamb was pretty tough. Overall the eating was good. Although there are better pubs, serving quality cooked meals, in the Village Inn family (Namely the Calverley Arms). Worth a visit for the view and pleasant beer garden. read more

Jack was extremely rude for starters, instead of listening to a complaint he argued like a child would. The place was filthy. A member of our group ordered a Pork steak sunday dinner. When it a arrived (cold) it was simply two thin slices of gammon. Jack insisted this was a pork steak, but called honey roast pork. No it was 2 cheap pieces of gammon. We will not visit again as everyones meals were terrible. read more

Dick Hudsons is a little out the way but is well worth the drive. Its not far for anyone round the ilkley, bingley area. The views on a sunny day are amazing, you really can see for miles and miles. The food is good value and real home cooked pub grub as well. A good range of local ales on tap too. Everything a country pub should be really, it has the views, the food, the drink and the atmosphere. read more

It enjoys panoramic views across Eldwick and Bingley from the beer garden, so if you visit on a sunny day, you can enjoy your food and drink in truly beautiful surroundings. Called at 7 pm , car park busy (usually a good sign) but a few tables available. I was brought up nearby Keighley and passed this place hundreds of times (in over 45 yrs) but had never been in. Recommended by a colleague at work who lives in nearby Gilstead. Ordered a pint of Copper Dragon (Skipton Brewery) as they dont do Taylors (Keighley) any more. From an extensive menu, I ordered crispy mushrooms with garlic dip (£3.95) and Summer Lamb Shank (£13.95). Within a few mins the Lamb Shank arrived ! I asked where the mushrooms were, guy said they didnt have that order in the kitchen, he said mushrooms would only be a few mins , then he would bring a fresh lamb shank afterwards. Mushrooms arrived, 5 large ones which looked nice and crispy, they were laid on a huge quantity of lettuce, one leaf would have sufficed. But they werent crispy they were really quite hard, and very salty. The accompanying dip had never seen any garlic, I tasted it separately, it seemed to have some small bits of green leaf in it which was more like coriander in taste. Shank arrived, Im as sure as I can be it was the same one heated up, and the veg were barely lukewarm. I tackled the waitress, she said she had specifically asked for a fresh one, well she may have, but the kitchen didnt deliver. She did apologise for the mix up in ordering the mushrooms, (I mustnt have pressed the button hard enough on the till). I also overheard comments form a nearby table, that led me to assume some dissatisfaction with their food. I didnt bother with a dessert, paid my bill and exited. I wont be back. read more

In the three days my traveling companions and I were in the area, we enjoyed Dick Hudsons every time we were there. The first night I had the venison which was perfectly cooked. Anywhere that has the name Dick in it's name is a sure fire winner for me. That's becuase I like people called Richard, you rude minded badgers you. In all seriousness though, this place is a little barn stormer. It is set in the picture perfect moors, so flat cap and ferret are essential attire to rock up with. If you have ducks with wellies then double winner. The food is pretty good stuff. Yes it is a chain but it's super special delish nd perfect pub grub. I love the pasta and if feeling very indulgent it hs to be some bad boy chips. Proper fat fred big uns baby, and no that is no Carry On type innuendo although I've been told mine are ample. For Chrimbo they have a cracking menu and check this bertha out, hot choccie with baileys AND mulled cider. seriously, this shizzle should be illegal it's that good. It really is a driving destination though so unless you fancy a near death hike on't moors, taxi it or get a designated driver. You see I am a public safety message as well as being a social butterfly. Get yer sen darn thee lass for a nice helping of nice nosh, friendly service and roaring fire. read more

Can't say I love this place, as a vegan I find there are no proper vegan friendly meals which is sad. I had to deal with "steak chips" last time I went which if I say so myself isn't a very reassuring name for a vegan :L If you like classic pub food it's good but for the more animal cruelty conscious it's not so great. read more

This has haeld a good reputation for years as a great pub for good food. As a result it's a busy place. It's in a lovely setting on the road over the top from Bingley/Hawksworth to East Morton/Keighley and offers a great views of the valley below. It's old rustic style with open wood burning fires is very welcoming. You find a table, peruse the menu and order at the bar. They have a great selection to suit everyone. read more

Quaint pub/restaurant up on the hillside in Eldwick, very enjoyable. I was visiting from California and my aunts (regular customers) took my mom and myself up for a Saturday dinner. They were super attentive and the food was yummy. I had the Shetland Salmon and it was divine, followed by the banoffee cheesecake (banana and toffee). Yum Yum Yum. Our waitress was Elle and she was what you Brits might call "a lovely girl" very nice, helpful and quite funny. All in all it was a great night out. Thanks Dick Hudsons! read more

Having eaten at dick hudsons many times before, i have never experienced poor service like it, on our last visit 19th Aug 2010. waited 15 mins for bar service and to order food. then 30 mins later to be told they had no rump steak, reordered another main and they had to refund the difference in cost as i had already paid for the first order. waited 25 for that to arrive, whats happend ? george (Bradford) read more
