The Wooly Sheep Skipton Taylors Cask Ales
    BEN U.

The Woolly Sheep is a pub owned by Timothy Taylors Brewery and is in the market square in Skipton. The pub only has Taylors ales but the beers are from one of the best brewers in Yorkshire and have a large following I have stayed here many times and the accommadation is very comfortable and reasonabley priced, a great area to spend a weekend as the area has lots of real ale pubs and many places to dine.

Loved this pub when visiting Skipton. It is cozy and a classic Yorkshire pub. Great selection of ales and lagers and even a decent local stout. Prices are a bit higher than other pubs but worth it for the comfort and ambiance.

The vegan food is absolutely horrible and the service is very very slow. They don't have much selection for dessert either.

The breakfasts were excellent, I didn't need anything else to eat until my evening meal. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The bar you had a good selection of draught beers and largers. All the staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you, nothing was to much for them. Really enjoyed our stay, enjoyed it so much we are back in July. Norman Allen

We didn't want a heavy meal, so we each had a sandwich - bacon, brie, and mango chutney on Ciabatta bread. What a delicious combination! I will definitely try to make it at home. We also split a bowl of potato leek soup, which was very nice. The pub is pretty large and also has a back garden with picnic tables. We stayed inside next to the bar to chat with the proprietor and soak up the traditional decor. There is a large variety of beers and ciders on tap,as well as an impressive range of whiskeys and other spirits behind the bar. The publican could not have been nicer - a tall Glaswegian who offered us a sample of different local ales on the house, and even offered us eventual help in case we have trouble on the canal!
