Devon Gillard the manager was MORE than accommodating and our server Cece (I believe was her name) was totally awesome !! I have been to DiCicco's a couple of times, the food is good, I will more than likely go back sometime.. The ambiance is not that great. I had a small event in the Lounge and was pretty disappointed- overall we had a good time but the set up wasn't done when we arrived and some of my guests were moving tables and chairs? It wouldn't be the first place I would recommend in the cute little downtown Clovis but I wouldn't advise against it either. read more

Very hit and miss. I have had good meals and other meals were I wished we had gone elsewhere. Last night was not good. Odd smell in the facility. Looking into the kitchen from the cash register area we noticed none of the food preparers were using hair nets. Several had long hair. Not a good sight for starting the meal. So disappointed & sad for them that they have to reduce to having a loud bar in their banquet room. There were a handful of people there on a Saturday night. We sat down to have dinner & could hear the piped in restaurant music along with the loud band music. When we voiced our disappointment, the waitress closed the door. That did not help. During our time there we saw only two 'bar' patrons come in the restaurant to eat. We did, however, see several 'bar' patrons come through to use the bathroom. One pizza was great, but one was soggy. They took half off that, so that was fine. We were ready to leave & could not find our waitress. My husband actually went looking for her twice. Bad experience. If you are looking for excellent homemade Italian food, this is the place to go! I had the minestrone soup to start, it was delicious! My husband and I like to try different things so we can taste each others. I ordered the Rigatoni Scarface and hubby ordered the Peppers & Sausage, his fav! Both dishes were unbelievable, but we had to keep room for their famous Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream & homemade Carmel sauce. I have never had bread pudding, but this may be my new favorite!! I called to make a delivery order and I had the WORST customer service. I was put on hold three times! The woman on the phone did not even say "Let me put you on hold" or ANYTHING I was just cut off and then left with music playing in my ear. She was so rude that I did not even follow through with my order. As an owner of a small business myself customer service is everything and I will never give this place business after that experience. I was even giving them the benefit of the doubt after I had a friend tell me about a bad experience they had there.. Old Town sure is not what it used to be. read more

Don't miss the Slice of Comedy shows that they have here at the Dicicco's lounge. It is absolutely the funnest thing you can do on a weekend night for $15! I have been to the shows several times now and you will always see 4-6 excellent comedians doing their best to make the room laugh. With all the terrible things happening in the world every day, you owe it to yourself to go someplace fun and relax and let yourself laugh. The wait staff works very hard to keep your drinks filled and your hot food coming.My favorite app has to be the fried ravioli. They are crispy and filled with melted cheese and come with a marinara dipping sauce. The only negative I might mention would be they need to maintain the restrooms better. Overall, The comedy shows are a great place to go on a date or to take a group of friends or just sit and have some fun and some drinks with the girls. You will not be disappointed. read more

I wish I didn't even have to give it a one star !!! When we walked in at noon and saw only one table full that's when I should've known to turn around and walk out . First we walk in and wait for someone to come out from the back . That was a good five minutes!! We are seated the waiter leaves to the back . After a good five to ten minutes he comes and asks what we would like to drink . We place our drink orders salad and soup order and meal order. After a good 15 minutes we finally get our soup and salads !! Then a good 30-35 minutes to get our meal . Not once during that time did we see the waiter !! He was once again in the back. Finally the food arrives !! The veggie egg plant Parmesan was luke warm. The veggies were not cooked at all !! When I bit into a carrot it was like it was straight from the bag ! HARD ! The original calzone was luke warm ! Hardly any meat at all !! The mezzo mezzo was COLD ! Sent it back once and came back luke warm ! Finally it's time to go . Waiter is no where in sight ! We go wait for the check up front . The waiter finally comes out again . Pay the bill . I then ask for the owners email . The waiter once again disappears. 10 minutes later he's back with an email address. I will try to email BUT I notice the owners name he gave me was different from the name I saw on yelp . So we will see! Just very disappointing when you spend 60.00 for lunch and the whole experience was bad . I will keep to the Diccicos in madera or down town Fresno !! read more

This was my first experience at this Italian restaurant. My family and I decided to try this place after church. When we walked in it took us 7 minutes to be greeted and when we were it was by a rude condescending waiter. They had quoted us 10 minutes it took us about 45 minutes!!! Once seated it took quite a bit of time to get our beverages. The waiter did not keep up on the refills we had to keep asking. We ordered waited a long time as well. We walked in at 12:40 and left at 3pm. The was absolutely horrible !!! If you are going to be slow at least have good customer service!!!! read more

i recently had dinner here and was really disappointed about about how lousy the food was. I was grateful they were open late and there were other diners there. I ordered lasagna and a salad. Horrible doesn't do it justice. The food is bad. The lettuce was old, had been frozen and there was an extremely small amt of blue cheese on it. Wasn't worth going to the effort. The lasagna was nothing like I had ever had, lasagna noodles with sauce slopped over it, some sort of filling that did not taste like meat and mozzarella sprinkled on top. The table next to me waited 15 minutes for their drink order. Not good enough. If you occupy a prime location in an area make sure that you have the food and service to go with it. read more

This by far is the best DiCiccos in town. Mind you, there is quite a few. The place is always clean food is great and tonight we had the best experience! John, the bartender was just awesome!!! He had so many great experiences and stories to tell-that my husband and I did not want to leave. The entire time we were dining he was there with us. He has traveled so much and met great people he truly is a gem! Unfortunately, he will be moving out of state soon but we will definitely be back to chat it up again before he leaves! Best Italian food in Clovis in addition to great service. My husband and I have been going for years but hadn't been in quite sometime. We usually sit in the dining room but the ambiance in their lounge was too great to pass up. We started out with Gianina's Mushrooms which are garlicky and delicious. We also shared a small wedge without blue cheese because I hate the stuff and the server informed us that they had a blue ranch that I was reluctant to order but she insisted so I trusted her...and WOW was she right! I usually ralph to the taste of blue cheese but this ranch was so delicious I bought some to take home for homemade salads, and have gone back one since during the day to restock my fridge. We finished off our meal with the chicken parmigiana, which was cooked to perfection. The dish comes with a side of spaghetti, I substituted normal red sauce for their Taranto sauce because it's so good. Their noodles changed I'm convinced they make them in house now because the quality of the texture and taste of them has increased. Needless to say, my husband and I will be returning. I certainly hope we get the brunette in the bar again as our server because she made our experience what it was, by asking us questions then making accurate recommendations off of our feedback. She was present but never too. After my experience I can't seem to understand why they have such poor reviews but I encourage people who haven't been in awhile to give it another try! read more

They also like to save 6 cents by not giving "to go orders" a fork when u order a dish like "fettuccine" the waitress said "oh sorry we don't give them out unless you ask for them." Really? So I'm supposed to assume there is not one in there and ask for one? A to-go-order means you're leaving you're not going to eat it there, thus i would need all utensils needed to eat it on the go. I love Italian food and have eaten at several DiCicco's in the Fresno area. Most are quite good. This particular location has to rank at the bottom. Should have walked out the minute I walked through the stained glass door as it reaked of a moldy, damp basement. I had the calzone. It was always my favorite at the Herndon / West restaurant. I just moved back to the area and I used to love Diciccos calzone. I told my wife "these are great, you have to try one" so we ordered delivery, we ordered two original calzone, the clerk said it would be about 45min, which I remembered was just about right. So I thought it was kind of funny when the delivery boy showed up in 25min, it takes at least 5min to drive, how could they make calzones that fast. Well I got my answer. When I took the wrapper off, I said "what the heck is this" because it didn't look anything like what I remembered. It was a deep fried pile of yuk. And they sent the all meat instead of original. I took two bites and gave the rest to the dog. My wife only took one bite and gave hers to the dog. I highly recommend if you like 30 dollar dog treats read more

If I could give a zero rating, I would. This place was awful. The wait staff was nice enough, but ignored us, completely. We waited an hour to get our over priced, bland, disappointment of a meal. We didn't get bread, our calamari appetizer was more like potato chips than squid, and my eggplant parmigiano was served in a weird casserole looking dish - it looked like it just came out of the microwave. I would highly recommend going down the street to the 500 Club for a beer, both before and after eating at Di Cicco's - you'll need it! read more

Better customer service at Olive Garden. On an evening that the restaurant was advertised as open until 9:00 p.m., I called at 8:37 p.m. per my cell phone and was told that the restaurant was closed. Not even an offer to make something simple like a salad or garlic bread. Then I drove by 15 minutes later on my way to another restaurant and the lights were still open so I stopped and checked the door. The lights were on and plenty of staff were there. Diccicos Old Town Clovis does not disappoint! Recently we have used the banquet room for meetings and once again were very pleased. My favorite is there gnocchi in the red sauce but I also love their Caesar salad with grilled chicken breast. Oh and the bread, well it melts in your mouth!! The service has been spot on! While using the banquet room for our meeting I was very impressed with the service staff and how polite and quiet they moved through the room during our meeting. They were able to take orders deliver and refill without us even knowing they were in the room. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Service: horrible. Food: disgusting. Price: way over priced. This was the 1st time I'd been to any Diccicos because I don't usually frequent chains so I don't know if it was just this location or not, but lunch was $50 for two people w/out cocktails. That's ok - as long as the food and service is decent. Unfortunately, the waitress brought bread but no butter, she then forgot my soup. Finally there was some mix up with my entree so my bf got his first and was able to eat his entire meal me fire mine even came out. He ordered the scarface pasta, which was too oily and I ordered the seafood pasta, medium spicy. When my dish finally came the presentation was gross - huge globs of marinara drown the entire dish (ya, they don't even toss it for you - just glob the sauce right on top). They forgot the medium spicy so I had to ask for red pepper flakes to do it myself. Don't know if it will be good or not since we waited forever so we had to go and I didn't get a chance to even try it. The waitress brought the check, didn't even offer to discount the check considering the mix ups and doesn't even offer any kind of hospitable apology.
