A gentleman from Primm's came out to look at the property and give me an estimate on weeding some…read moreflower beds and trimming some trees. Nice guy. We had a good chat. The estimate came in around 2k. $630 of that was for weeding the beds, which I could do in about an hour by myself. They budgeted 6 hours for it. They also budgeted 6 hours to put mulch on those beds for another $630. I told them that was too high for the work (and that I'd just weed and mulch the beds myself) and asked them to send an estimate for just the tree trimming (which was about $600). I was told that just the tree trimming would not meet their minimum requirement to send out a team. So, $600 for an hour of work for two men was not worth their time. Holy cow is that a bad business model. I was really surprised by that response. If this is the kind of price-gouging and entitled service you can expect from Primm's, steer clear.

Buyer beware. I hired Lane from Outside the House (OTH) for a large residential project…read more(installation of 40+ trees) and unfortunately this was a bait and switch experience. The project was quoted far under the competition (RED FLAG #1) but the conversation and intent seemed genuine at first so we decided to support a local small business. By the end of the project, we were hit with a final invoice 30% over budget, to be surprised without warning financially hurt our family. This was just the beginning of the extra expenses needed to finish the project. Furthermore and to our surprise, OTH cannot help with any of the other critical elements of tree planting, e.g. drainage, irrigation, fertilization, etc (RED FLAG #2). The project was performed in late December without any research into the topography and the bed design created a dam that flooded come spring requiring us to outsource a team of landscaping professionals to install multiple catch basins / french drains to prevent all trees from drowning. More financial stress for our family. Sadly, we lost 10 trees dying due to improper planting (OTH installed out trees shallow, provided zero bed prep, and bad location of certain tree species). OTH became hard to get ahold of when we needed them the most. We let them know we had pressure from our HOA to fix the mess (RED FLAG #3). What is most disturbing in this whole mess is OTH not warranting the work they did and blaming us for the issues they created. Now we have holes in our deign, significant additional expenses, and not to mention stress and confusion. OTH is a poorly run business and we wish we had not selected them for our project.

I searched on Yelp and found Lane and reached out to him. He responded immediately and came up with a very thoughtful landscaping design and estimate. He even FaceTimed with me to show me what the plants were going to look like before he started the work. His crew worked hard for a week and were extremely polite and respectful. We are incredibly happy with the outcome and have even had our new neighbors come by to compliment the landscaping. We are going to stick with Lane for further landscaping and maintenance needs. Look no further than his company!

I didn't have much of a vision - just wanted the yard to "look nicer" but not break the bank. He was able to help me fill in the details and propose good ideas for how to redo things. He sent over a detailed quote and sketch that matched exactly what we discussed, and he was very communicative all along the way. His team showed up when they said they would, were very unintrusive and kind, and they got the job done efficiently. Overall, very very happy with the entire process, and the results look great! Would definitely recommend and would use again.

Weren't sure exactly what we wanted, but had a vision. Charlie brought in his designer and she worked with us to put our vision on paper. It took a while for us to decide on the right pavers and stones to use since we wanted to include existing limestone rocks so they would match closely to our old home. Charlie was super patient and drove around with us to different stone yards to show us what is available. Charlie was great to work with! His entire team worked tirelessly to turn our blank slate of a house into something out of a design book in about two weeks. Could not recommend Burlap and Bloom enough.

This is one of the finest companies I have ever had the pleasure of hiring. The owner, Andrae, was…read moreefficient, honest, and extremely friendly. The estimate and final bill matched and were very reasonable. They came out on a very raining and stormy day and worked their tails off in spite of the weather. The results were magnificent. They even through in added value by giving me some crab grass killer to use after my new lawn established itself, as well as thoroughly fertilizing. They even come out a week after the lawn is installed to check things out and make sure everything is as it should be. Exceptionally professional throughout the entire project! If you need a new lawn, this is the only company I would recommend.

In my opinion, whoever sold him the trash dirt that was spread on my yard is most responsible for the poor job I got, but I have no idea who his supplier is. My yard still looks worse now than before. He said I needed to install a sprinkler system, but I see no need to water clay and rocks. I need good soil!!! None of my neighbors have sprinkler systems. I wish my yard looked half as good as the ones they have. I waited almost a year before writing this review in hopes that all the recent rains would help. It has not. Every time I cut my yard, it's a reminder of the bad job I got from two (Edwin's Lawncare, LLC too) different landscapers. I guess I'll have to try for a third one...someday. Maybe the third time will be the charm.

I used this company for about a year, and unfortunately, I would not recommend them based on my…read moreexperience. They are good at sales, but the actual lawn care results were very disappointing. For the second year in a row, my lawn is brown. I even paid more this year for additional services I did not have before, but the lawn actually looks worse. I pay them for disease control and basically everything they offer, yet the lawn still has the same issues. They keep saying it is due to the soil, but other people have told me it looks like disease. One person on their team even said it looked like disease again, but still offered no real solution. Then the office said it was not disease, but again, they did not come out, do anything meaningful, or offer a real plan to fix it. Another company I called said they were confident the issue was disease. They also said that if disease control had been done, the company should have offered to treat it or at least come out and inspect it. That made me question whether the disease control was actually working, or whether it was handled properly. To be honest, my lawn looked better before I started using them. They are expensive, and since using them, my lawn looks worse than ever. The biggest issue is that when I asked about the problem, they never really came out to inspect it and find the actual cause. It also takes days to get a response on anything, and when they do respond, it is usually just the same repeated explanation with no real solution. No one seems to take ownership, offer help, or try to actually fix the problem. When I called to cancel, they did not offer to come look at the lawn, fix anything, or make it right. The response was basically, "Ahh man, I'm sorry. I know we did our best, but I truly wish you luck." All of my neighbors' lawns look great, and they use other companies. I am moving to one of those companies because I cannot keep paying a premium price for a lawn that looks brown, unhealthy, and worse than it did before I hired them.

After a bit of back and forth and estimates, plus scoping reviews, I ended up going with Pure Turf, and so far, I am happy with that decision. I ended up signing for the next year which includes the initial fertilization and seeding, weed control and maintenance once spring comes back around. The process has been solid and easy. The team is responsive and quick to respond when needed. I communicate with them via text and they are always timely in response, while also ensuring to answer any questions I may have, etc... Since the initial seeding, I have reached back out to have a few patchy areas reseeded. They came out without delay, walked me through what to do next and how to monitor progress before the freeze of winter hits. From start to now, I have seen a great improvement in my lawn. Still have a few areas to focus on, but I am hopeful that next year I will have the lawn I am hoping (and paying) for! Overall, glad I went with Pure Turf and looking forward to next years season!

I will warn everybody I know to stay away from using this company for a patio installation. After…read moreredoing part of this patio twice, it is still not level. The stones are loose and a trip hazard. Broken stones were installed in the patio. They replaced one but broke another one which has still not been replaced a month later. They used cinder blocks to make a retaining wall and tried to tell me it would be smooth and it would not be obvious it was cinder blocks. However, they cut one so that the hole is in the side of the wall. They have done nothing to "fix" anything as they said they would. When I told Gary, the owner, how unhappy I was with everything, he was genuinely shocked and acted like it was just my opinion. He said anybody else that saw it would think it was a great job. They wanted payment before they were finished and still owe me a refund for overpayment. I've paid them thousands of dollars but will also have to pay somebody else to fix all of their mistakes.
