Buyer beware. I hired Lane from Outside the House (OTH) for a large residential project…read more(installation of 40+ trees) and unfortunately this was a bait and switch experience. The project was quoted far under the competition (RED FLAG #1) but the conversation and intent seemed genuine at first so we decided to support a local small business. By the end of the project, we were hit with a final invoice 30% over budget, to be surprised without warning financially hurt our family. This was just the beginning of the extra expenses needed to finish the project. Furthermore and to our surprise, OTH cannot help with any of the other critical elements of tree planting, e.g. drainage, irrigation, fertilization, etc (RED FLAG #2). The project was performed in late December without any research into the topography and the bed design created a dam that flooded come spring requiring us to outsource a team of landscaping professionals to install multiple catch basins / french drains to prevent all trees from drowning. More financial stress for our family. Sadly, we lost 10 trees dying due to improper planting (OTH installed out trees shallow, provided zero bed prep, and bad location of certain tree species). OTH became hard to get ahold of when we needed them the most. We let them know we had pressure from our HOA to fix the mess (RED FLAG #3). What is most disturbing in this whole mess is OTH not warranting the work they did and blaming us for the issues they created. Now we have holes in our deign, significant additional expenses, and not to mention stress and confusion. OTH is a poorly run business and we wish we had not selected them for our project.

In my opinion, whoever sold him the trash dirt that was spread on my yard is most responsible for the poor job I got, but I have no idea who his supplier is. My yard still looks worse now than before. He said I needed to install a sprinkler system, but I see no need to water clay and rocks. I need good soil!!! None of my neighbors have sprinkler systems. I wish my yard looked half as good as the ones they have. I waited almost a year before writing this review in hopes that all the recent rains would help. It has not. Every time I cut my yard, it's a reminder of the bad job I got from two (Edwin's Lawncare, LLC too) different landscapers. I guess I'll have to try for a third one...someday. Kaily's is an enigma. I have to agree with other reviewers, that the initial communication is very…read moregood. We had the guys come out, review our tree removal needs, and give us a firm quote right there on the spot. Thereafter, scheduling was pretty easy too. They showed up when they said they were going to and started working immediately. From there, things went a bit wonky. They told us our job would be a one-day job. It turned into 3 days. Each day, the entire crew would just pack up and be gone, leaving each time and not communicating when, or even if, they'd be back to finish. Halfway through day-2, they moved our neighbors stuff around in their yard without their or our permission (didn't even talk to us about it). On top of that, they also messed up part of that same neighbor's yard dealing with the tree on that side of the job. The ground/grass there is pretty well destroyed, and they did not have permission to be on the neighbor's property. While expected, as we had some YUGE trees that needed to be removed (80-90 footers), our yard is completely destroyed. They did do a good job protecting our irrigation heads all throughout the yard though, even those right below where the huge trees fell. By the time they left for the 2nd day, still unfinished and not telling us when/if they'd be back, we were a bit exasperated. When we asked what was going on with the final piece of the job, the stump grinding, they said they didn't know and that it was a different team that came out and did that, and they had their own/different schedule and we'd just be worked in when they were available. Several days later, the stump grinding team showed up unannounced. They went to work on the stumps immediately, but left GIANT piles of sawdust in the yard where the stumps were ground. We weren't expecting that and calls/texts sent asking about it were not returned... finally they just sent us an invoice via email and we never heard anything else from them. We just paid the bill to be done with the job, but don't necessarily feel like we received everything we paid for in totality. Overall, they did the job, the trees and stumps are gone, and they didn't break anything that needed to be repaired, but we now have some additional work to the grounds (including our neighbors) that has to be done as a result.

They had an excellent rates and once the job was scheduled they showed up and worked until the truck was full and they had to come back another day. The only issue I had was communication in getting the service scheduled. We had them come out and do the estimate super quickly. However getting a hold of them to get the work scheduled took multiple back and forths of text messages. Overall we are extremely pleased with the service they did; just make sure that when you get the estimate you are willing to schedule that day.

When I contacted the office they tried to tell me that dry contact time is not necessary for herbicide application. Then last Friday they sent an email that they would be performing aeration/seeding this week when the heat index will be 100+ with no rain in sight. These services should be performed in early fall; not the extreme heat of summer. The bottom line: LawnWise is only concerned with collecting payment (ahead of time if you agree to it) for going through the motions and checking boxes in regard to turf management.
