A gentleman from Primm's came out to look at the property and give me an estimate on weeding some…read moreflower beds and trimming some trees. Nice guy. We had a good chat. The estimate came in around 2k. $630 of that was for weeding the beds, which I could do in about an hour by myself. They budgeted 6 hours for it. They also budgeted 6 hours to put mulch on those beds for another $630. I told them that was too high for the work (and that I'd just weed and mulch the beds myself) and asked them to send an estimate for just the tree trimming (which was about $600). I was told that just the tree trimming would not meet their minimum requirement to send out a team. So, $600 for an hour of work for two men was not worth their time. Holy cow is that a bad business model. I was really surprised by that response. If this is the kind of price-gouging and entitled service you can expect from Primm's, steer clear.

We spoke with several companies, and selected Quality Tree Surgery because they were knowledgeable, had a competitive price, and had good reviews from our neighbors. They did excellent work. When we spoke with them during the job, they listened to what we wanted, explained what they were doing, and why they were doing it. They were very nice, cleaned up very well, were respectful of our neighbors' yards, and did the work in less time than they anticipated. Since then, we have used Quality Tree Surgery to aerate and overseed our yard, and to control aphids on a nearby hackberry (both are annual jobs). When we need to hire anyone to do work to our trees or yard going forward, I won't even bother getting other companies to quote the work. We just go straight to Quality Tree Surgery. They are honest, reliable, do good work, offer reasonable pricing, and every employee we have dealt with has been knowledgeable and pleasant.

WITHOUT ANY COMMUNICATION a week later an individual stopped by unannounced, opened my closed gate, and let themselves into my backyard and let my 3 dogs out. When I told the person I didn't know they would be here today, their response was, "I didn't either." I would expect any reputable company to schedule this or at a minimum communicate to the customer, which would remove any risk on both ends. Instead, they let my dogs out. Additionally, Robyn, who answers the phones, finds this to be a totally normal procedure and pushed back that they did not need to give me any notification. They even come out a week after the lawn is installed to check things out and make sure everything is as it should be. Exceptionally professional throughout the entire project! In my opinion, whoever sold him the trash dirt that was spread on my yard is most responsible for the poor job I got, but I have no idea who his supplier is. My yard still looks worse now than before. He said I needed to install a sprinkler system, but I see no need to water clay and rocks. I need good soil!!! None of my neighbors have sprinkler systems. I wish my yard looked half as good as the ones they have. I waited almost a year before writing this review in hopes that all the recent rains would help. It has not. Every time I cut my yard, it's a reminder of the bad job I got from two (Edwin's Lawncare, LLC too) different landscapers. I guess I'll have to try for a third one...someday. Maybe the third time will be the charm.

We had the guys come out, review our tree removal needs, and give us a firm quote right there on the spot. Thereafter, scheduling was pretty easy too. They showed up when they said they were going to and started working immediately. From there, things went a bit wonky. They told us our job would be a one-day job. It turned into 3 days. Each day, the entire crew would just pack up and be gone, leaving each time and not communicating when, or even if, they'd be back to finish. Halfway through day-2, they moved our neighbors stuff around in their yard without their or our permission (didn't even talk to us about it). On top of that, they also messed up part of that same neighbor's yard dealing with the tree on that side of the job. The ground/grass there is pretty well destroyed, and they did not have permission to be on the neighbor's property. While expected, as we had some YUGE trees that needed to be removed (80-90 footers), our yard is completely destroyed. They did do a good job protecting our irrigation heads all throughout the yard though, even those right below where the huge trees fell. By the time they left for the 2nd day, still unfinished and not telling us when/if they'd be back, we were a bit exasperated. When we asked what was going on with the final piece of the job, the stump grinding, they said they didn't know and that it was a different team that came out and did that, and they had their own/different schedule and we'd just be worked in when they were available. Several days later, the stump grinding team showed up unannounced. They went to work on the stumps immediately, but left GIANT piles of sawdust in the yard where the stumps were ground. We weren't expecting that and calls/texts sent asking about it were not returned... finally they just sent us an invoice via email and we never heard anything else from them. We just paid the bill to be done with the job, but don't necessarily feel like we received everything we paid for in totality. Overall, they did the job, the trees and stumps are gone, and they didn't break anything that needed to be repaired, but we now have some additional work to the grounds (including our neighbors) that has to be done as a result.
