Went Au natural during Covid, and wanted to find a local salon near me. We have two busy salons near me in Etters, but you get a different stylist each time. Of my many flaws, the nails on my little toes are very weird and all my life pedicurists have put a dot of nail polish on those tiny weird looking toe nails. Until I found Diane's! Her husband created a regular looking nails for my toes using gel. They are PERFECT! I don't know how long they'll last but I'm going to enjoy them for as long as I have them. Welll these were the worst nails I have ever had done. I had Tina, and she quite literally did not even try. I asked for round and I have this bizarre shape with points and edges and it looks atrocious. She got polish all over my finger and did not clean it. My fingers are covered in powder. She cut me as well. Do not go here and have Tina, she did absolutely horrible and as I write this I am at another salon getting the polish taken off. read more

I am so disappointed with this salon. My pedicure was done fairly well, but no leg massage as I've normally received elsewhere. The manicure though was horrible. Its been 2 weeks and a quarter if my thumb polish is gone and the top of the index finger us coming off. My cuticles were not pushed back nor were they trimmed. No soaking. Polish is extremely thick on the fingernails which pronounces the defects. I stopped in earlier this week to cancel my appointment for next week. I was told they could fix the cuticle area, but since I wasn't happy with the manicure overall, I asked that They just cancel my future appointment. The owner, Diane, was there with another customer but did not come over to see my nails. $50 for manicure that looks terrible. read more

They can't do intricate designs there. They also are overpriced and not as good quality as other nail places nearby that are cheaper. They charged me to remove my gel manicure when other places don't (10 dollars!). The staff there isn't very helpful and seems more into money than being a good salon. read more

Diane's Nails is an affordable and clean nail salon. However, the fumes overwhelmed my senses when I walked into the impeccable salon pimped out in plush massage chairs: they've got to keep this place more ventilated! The smell of acetone and fake nails stung my eyes even after spending an hour in there. Although we made appointments, we still had to wait half an hour because they only honor appointments over walk-ins if there are people waiting. I went with a friend to get a mani-pedi $35 with tax. It is a family owned business consists of Diane, her husband Tien, and her mother. They are all nice and polite, but Diane is the only one who could do nails, despite it being a nail salon. I asked to maintain the square shape, however, the male beautician used bidirectional technique to filed my already manicured long square nails to a shapeless rounded mount--not oval--with lopsided edges. For $35, I wasn't about to walk away with nails worse than I when I walked in! So I grabbed the nail file and did it myself. At this point, Diane took over and painted my nails beautifully. My friend who worked with the older female ended up with uneven shades of polish on her nails. I don't expect professional beauticians in a small town, however, I do expect people with an ounce of aesthetics. The plus side is that the place is affordable, and if you do go there, do not work with anyone other than Diane. read more

I had a spa pedicure and gel manicure done here (first time customer) The pedicure was okay- not the best I've had but decent. However, I was disappointed in the manicure. The woman I had didn't do anything with my cuticles or a soak- she just used a metal filer on my nail bed before putting on the thickest layer of gel. I haven't had that kind of gel used on me in years. I wasn't pleased but I went along with it- big mistake. There was so much gel that it leaked onto the sides of my nails over the cuticles and then she filed most of my nails unevenly. Also, the gel itself was bumpy on top- which looked really unnatural. I've been trying to get it off after only a few days because it didn't look good and felt super thick/heavy. This reminded me why I didn't like the original hard gel polish that was popular ten years ago. After she was finished she just put a little hand cream on and it was done. I wont be back for a manicure - just not worth it. It will take me several weeks for my nails to get back to normal. read more

Diane and her friendly staff, are nothing but perfectionists, and always greet you with a warm smile. Their salon is clean and inviting. They are great at keeping appointments, and taking walk ins. The staff has great attention to detail, and will make sure you get exactly the manicure or service that you ask for. I took a friend here for a manicure and pedicure for a retirement gift. My girlfriend was totally disappointed with both the Mani and the pedi. They did not even touch the cuticles on her toes or her fingers ( which both were bad and needed to be addressed). I feel bad that she was extremely disappointed. She will never go back there again! Came in here from out of town with a friend. We both got gel manis and pedis. The pedis were fine, but we were rushed to sit in our chairs without even having chosen our nail color and my friend's left foot never even got scrubbed. The manis were strange and far worse. They didn't touch our cuticles, never soaked our hands, and filed our fingers as much as our nails. All the while pulling and twisting our fingers as if they weren't attached to our hands. The gel was a molded gel that they put on the nail and over the polish - I've never seen that done before and while that came out fine my nails were filed unevenly and we were never asked what shape I'd like them (mine came out like claws and my friends were square shaped). Would not come back, would not recommend. 62 for both and we both want our nails redone immediately somewhere else. read more

I have been using Diane's Nail Salon for the past three years and this year I got gel nails...oh and I should mention that I live in Vermont!! But there is noone here who does gel manicures as well as they do and I love their upbeat sweet manners. Here in Vermont I have met rude, angry people (one even yelled at me for asking questions!) and right now I am looking at my three week old manicure and there is not one chip or any dullness, they are still perfect, but in need of a fill. I am on my way out the door to "interview" another nail salon...I wish I weren't so far from Hummelstown, but there is also just so much visiting of my family to be done as well! I travel to Hershey from Atlanta GA for cancer treatments several times a month. I was in Hershey for several weeks and a friend in the area recommended Diane to 'fill in' my acrylic nails. Diane uses a modern gel which has held up for weeks after removing the acrylic. My nails look more natural and are not thick. Another review has rated the salon as pricey. Not so compared to the rest of the country. I would have paid about double at my salon in Atlanta, which is on the lower end of the price spectrum in that area. My local salon doesn't offer the better gel products, so I will continue to visit Diane when in town for chemo. The pedicure I received was amazing. I will refer the salon to anyone who needs to be pampered. read more

My granddaughter went in to have her nails done for homecoming mani. One acrylic nail came off four days later. We went back that Saturday to have it applied again and a new polish color applied. This time the nail lasted 3 days. Never never will we use this shop again. Most of the time they are too busy on their cell phones while working on clients. This place is overpriced and doesn't have a great selection of nail colors. They don't keep their nail colors up to date with the newest shades of OPI, zoya, essie, china glaze like you would see at Downstreet Salon in Hershey. I went in to get a manicure and they said it was 12 dollars, so I went to choose a color but the colors were so limited and old looking, that I had better colors at home. I was about to leave when Diane said that I should try a gel manicure, it's 35 dollars and lasts a long time about 3 weeks. I was always interested in trying a gel manicure and wanted something nice for my birthday. She showed me about 70 color swatches and I chose one. When we started, I noticed it was peculiar because she started putting a coat of acrylic on my nail first and then applying the gel polish. The shape of the acrylic was bulky and elongated more than my regular nail and awkward looking. After it was done, I agree it was very shiny but they were fake nails and this was not explained that this is what a gel manicure is. There is a complete language barrier. None of them can speak English very well. I also asked how to take the gel manicure off, she said you use 100% acetone but to come in and they'd take it off for me. I assumed this meant I didnt have to buy acetone and could drop in and it would be simple. She made it sound like it was a free service. Then 2 days into having the gel manicure one of my nails already chipped, then 2 days later 2 more nails chipped. I went back to get those nails redone, free of charge. After about 3 weeks I walked in to get the nails removed, there is no way you can take this off yourself at home even with 100% acetone. I asked my hair stylist at Downstreet about them and she said that's not a regular gel manicure, thats an acrylic manicure, we don't do that. So when I walked in they were very busy and she made me come back 1 hr later. I sat down and she took off the nails, it took 15+ minutes to use this electric filer to get the acrylic off, furthermore I could not understand a word she was saying to me. Then I was going to leave and said I didn't bring cash but would like to tip her and when I come in next time I will, and then Diane was like you sat there for 15 minutes, look at the sign it says Nails off 10 dollars. So I said you said last time I could come back and you would take them off, I assumed it was a free service (how else can you get these nails off). She said no, I never said that. So I paid, but it was a big misunderstanding from the start. I wouldn't have gotten my nails done there because then it was a total of 45 dollars, which is completely not worth it. You could buy 6+ bottles of high end nail polish or go somewhere in Hershey where they do REAL gel manicures for way less, because my friends said it is cheaper at Hershey nails and downstreet. Bottom line: It's way overpriced, this is not the typical gel manicure, you have to pay a fee to get these nails removed, they look bulky, there is a language barrier, felt I was treated poorly. read more

The staff is nice, but not the best mani/pedi I received. The women who did my pedi cut too close on my toe and left an open cut along the nail. A different woman did my mani but she didn't clean up my cuticles. I opted for a non-gel polish which the lady said would last two weeks, but it barely lasted 5 days. 10 days later and the polish is nearly chipped away. For the price, I would expect more detail in quality of work. read more

Went in for a simple manicure, Diane soaked my nails for 1/2 a min made absolutely no attempt to push my cuticles back, then cut my cuticles. I had to ask her to please file my nails again, as some were long, some were short. All the while she is speaking to her co-worker in her language. With any new business there are kinks to be worked out. I was very disappointed to read the previous reviews that were unmercifully critical. My experience at Diane's Nail Salon has been very good. I always make an appointment so I am guaranteed a spot. The most I have ever waited was maybe 10 minutes. Diane and her staff are pleasant, engaging but not prying, and genuinely sweet. It is apparent that Diane is working hard at making improvements to better serve her customers. It is unfair to compare Diane's salon with other's in the area. It is important to be informed prior to engaging a proprietors service, and one can easily do that by inquiring ahead of time for pricing, types of polish available, and misc. service fees. By the way, they are listed for easy interpretation in English. This salon is sure to become a little gem if given the chance. Clientele that is patient, well-mannered, and culturally sensitive will make it happen. read more
