I was quoted a lower price on full face at my consult, I paid $175 to book. I returned for a test spot of co2 laser, I was told Dr Chen recommends ematrix and the price went up. When Dr. Chen came in she said we're going to do ematrix on cheeks, then she also did my nose. I thought, well that's not what I wanted or asked for but she's my doctor so she knows best. Not thinking this is a money grab. I realize now that's exactly what it was. She went over twice on a low to medium setting, which is weird because everyone said on this setting it's 4+ passes. At checkout I was charged full price for full face which I said must be a mistake, dr only did cheeks for two passes and nose. I was told the doctor said that's correct pricing. When I look at my face my full cheeks weren't even done. I honestly feel like I was hoodwinked for $650. I wasn't given proper or full service. I'd paid a deposit for my consult and instead of being charged the difference I was charged full amount. When I called the phone hung up on me while I was speaking to someone so I had to drive back to ask for the refund. Will not be returning to this office which I hate to say because I went to the Mercy Riverchase Derm location for other lasers and treatments and had no problems no complaints did fully what they said they'd do for exactly the price I was quoted. read more

We went to see Dr Lucy Chen because she got amazing reviews. She was very charismatic, knowledgeable, and very kind. Why the two stars? Well, the main reason for the visit was to get a refill for a prescription cream. I made that very clear when making the appointment. However, the actual visit felt more like being at a makeup counter at a retail store than seeing a medical professional --it was all about the upsell. Instead of giving me the cream I had been using successfully for years (because they don't sell it in-house) they recommended an alternative in-house product they claimed was better for $100. I tried it for a month with no results and noticed I was allergic to it. When I told them the reaction my skin had, they gave no refund or exchanges but did happily recommend more of their products that cost $100+ each. It is, at the very least, ethically questionable when the SALE is more important than the patients wellbeing. And, since trust is first and foremost when seeking medical care, I will never be going back. read more

I was under the impression I was seeing Diane Walter, instead I was placed with Jeriel Weitz. Dr. Weitz was not helpful whatsoever, provided no solutions, and actually made me feel worse than I did before coming in. I have been a patient of Dr. Chen for a few years, now mostly always for checkups and the occasional removal of small items here or there. This last checkup however, it was determined that I had a small Squamous cell skin cancer that needed to be removed with a Mohs surgery, which is really not as much a surgery as it is a more detailed excision that gets tested on the spot. If the first cut gets all of it, they stitch you up and that's it, but if doesn't, they continue until the area is clean. As much as these may be routine procedures for skilled dermatologists like Dr. Chen and the other experts at Riverchase, who were carefully selected by Dr. Walder, it was still a little unnerving regardless. The procedure was done today and Dr. Chen, Jamie and the entire staff were fantastic. They are as professional as they come and wonderfully caring. I highly recommend Dr. Chen and the entire team at Dr. Walder's office. read more

Soooo expensive! The range of services they offer is broad, that's good. Stuff are pretty nice and knowledgeable. However, every time I come here, I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Their prices are ridiculous - some even higher then in NYC. I wanted to do couple of procedures but I just can't wrap my head around the quotes I was given. I was born with psoriasis. Since a child I have been going to dermatologist after dermatologist.. always leaving the offices feeling like nothing was done. Lately my psoriasis has gotten so bad it took family members noticing the rashes and me walking weird due to the psoriatic arthritis to make me realize it's time for a change, and urged me to go to Dr. Chimento. I have scheduled two visits with Dr. Lucy Chen. The first was in May when she detected a potential squamous cell carcinoma which was subsequently confirmed after a biopsy was conducted. Dr. Chen referred me to a local surgeon, Dr. Edward Gross, who was excellent. I called last week and was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Chen for today to look at some other areas of concern. She evaluated the areas and completed 3 separate procedures that I was very happy to have take place. Dr. Chen is an amazing dermatologist who I am very happy to have found. She is an extremely experienced professional, yet has a very personable approach that I highly value and appreciate in a doctor. Dr. Chen will be my dermatologist for any and all future issues that may show up. I also am very impressed with Lacey, Dr. Chen's nurse, who is a phenomenal human being. Both Dr. Chen and Lacey are dedicated professionals who love what they do and they take a lot of pride in providing the best patient care and creating the BEST patient experience. The office was clean and the front desk is very kind. They helped me and I was seen by Dr. Chimento shortly after I checked in. I just wanted to get my skin checked being that I have fair skin and I moved to Miami, FL from NJ. I was hesitant to find doctors here because I love my doctors back in Jersey, especially my dermatologist because he is wonderful. I have had my fair share of horrible dermatologists so I am very selective. The man I went to in NJ, I had to travel 1 1/2 hr to see him but it was worth the drive. So, we can see I am very selective. (Lol) Well, I figured I couldn't keep flying to see my Dr's in NJ so I made an appointment to see Dr. Chimento. Dr. Walder had good reviews and I figured, "Dr. Walder wouldn't let just anyone work for her if she is this good so let's see how this goes". I was nervous and I wanted to see Dr. Walder, but I ended up seeing Dr. Chimento because her schedule worked out with my schedule. Well, Dr. Chimento was everything in a dermatologist that I was hoping for and more. She checked me thoroughly. She was knowledgeable and had a very nice personality. I was not prepared for how thoroughly she checked me, I greatly appreciate getting a full body check for any unusual freckles or moles that I can not see. I will now consider myself a regular because that experience really gave me peace of mind. I initially came here because I was suffering from severe hormonal acne. Stacy was informative on prescribed medications and was very honest about the time expectancy of my desired results. I went to three other places to consult about a procedure I was considering. Every other place did NOT charge a consultation fee. I was very surprised that I was asked for $175.00 upon leaving. I was not told this when I made the appointment. WOW. Im from the midwest and thats alot of money for me. After the consultation I researched the Doctor they had me talk to. I went into the office because I developed a nasty rash all over my body. They charged me 175 dollar fee for being a new patient even thought I had been there before and then another 200 dollars by taking unnecessary tests to make more money. Additionally I was charged 300 dollars by the lab company they sent a sample to. This is an office whose mission is to make as much money as possible, not help people. Dr. Stacy Chimento recently performed an IPL laser treatment on my face and chest. I have Rosacea and Melasma, this can be very difficult to treat. Dr. Chimento specializes in Rosacea. The laser can severely agitate the Rosacea , and also cause the Melasma to darken if not done properly. When I asked her assistant about using numbing cream, as this procedure can be painful, she told me they get better results without it. I was a little scared as my pain tolerance is not very high. I have had bad experiences with other dermatologist burning me with horrible blisters forming on my face; and they did use a numbing cream. Dr. Chimento took the time to explain to me in detail what she was going to do, and that we would take breaks during the procedure. Her assistant used a cooling gel and iced the areas during this treatment. I felt no pain or discomfort whatsoever. Dr. Chimento is a very kind, compassionate doctor. She takes the time to listen to your concerns as a doctor should be to a patient, old school. She does not push additional, unnecessary treatments on you as so many doctors do today. She is a great doctor with a kind heart. read more

When going to a doctor's appointment you often feel some anxiety , when you have a appointment with this office that is not the case, the staff is first class and makes you feel welcome and at ease, the doctors are fantastic and explain everything to you.
