Insane price! Paid $75 for a hem, I get that it was a bridesmaid dress but blew my mind. They were very sweet and had the dress ready the date we discussed. I had just had a baby the week before so was rushing to get the dress dropped off and get back home so didn't take the time to discuss the price- make sure you ask the price up front!! I never would have dreamed it would cost anywhere NEAR $75. Due to this, I won't be back. If money isn't a concern for you, give them a try. read more

We brought a suit in to get altered and they did a terrible job. They took it in too much and the arms now have a bunch in them. The worst part was when we brought it in to have them fix it they were rude, unemphatic and did nothing to fix the problem. I would not recommend them at all. I was charged $85 for a dress to be hemmed. Not anything challenging. If I had known they were going to charge me that much I would never have gone to them. Not only are they expensive but the women working there are rude. I have no desire to ever go back there. Had a zipper on my skirt replaced and the stitching came out all crooked and the fabric on the outside of the zipper were a mile a part making it noticeable. Was charged $25 dollars for a skirt that is now ruined. Do not waste your money and your time in this place. Highly priced to leave customers highly disappointed. read more

It's surprisingly difficult to find a good seamstress in Charleston. I do like Maria's in the Windermere shopping center, but they're slow and costly. Diana's is much more cost efficient and they provide faster turnaround. The two ladies who run it are total hoots. They do good work and are extremely sweet and funny in person. The hours aren't great, but hey, one of the perks of owning your own business is that you get to set the hours! Can't hold that against them. It's time to close up shop for these two ladies. Only go to them if you have a lot of self confidence and can deal with negative criticism and not requesting any work that's too complex. Do not take your child there as they are pretty harsh with advice and critiques. They said some hurtful things to my young daughter about her outfit and I really don't think they realized how bad it was due to their senility. It was very sad and disturbing. I wonder if she recommended we buy another dress because she actually wasn't able or didn't want to do the work. Idk. If you choose to go there, just be prepared. They have good days but on a bad day .. can really be obliviously cruel. We went to Twelve Tailoring in North Charleston and it's an easy fix for less than $60 and she'll be in the dress she loves. read more

Please take my advice and do not take any important clothing to this shop. The ladies are nice, however the alteration quality is extremely poor. I had a bridesmaid's dress completely ruined to the point where it could no longer button, seams were sewed unevenly, and fabric was bunched in awkward places. I took it to another seamstress who was very perplexed and said it could not be fixed, because the fabric had been cut out. These ladies were wonderful to me. I have heard horror stories have how rude seamstresses around Charleston can be, but I have nothing but kind things to say. I just had a dress hemmed and the ladies finished it in a week and charged a very reasonable fee. The reason they have four stars instead of five is because the do seem a little disorganized. I called to see if my dress was ready and they scrambled to figure out which dress was mine (even though they took my name down and placed with dress when I was there.) It was no big deal though. Diana's may have fast turnaround but charged me ridiculous prices for taking in a few items! I spent over $70 on a few items that cost half as much elsewhere. They never abide by their hours posted. Took in 2 pair of pants to be hemmed. They said don't be in a hurry and I wasn't so no big deal. I stopped in about 2 and half weeks later and she couldn't find my pants for about 10 minutes. When she did, they had not been hemmed. So, she told me to come back 5 days later. They were done this time but 30+ dollars for holding my $5 pants hostage for 3 weeks. Totally NOT worth it. Absurd prices! $65 for a simple hem on a dress that cost less than that to buy. The 2 stars are for the ladies being pleasant and fast but it is not worth the price!! This is twice as much as I have paid elsewhere. I'm really perplexed by all the negative reviews here. I brought a lot of clothes to be altered and I was admittedly skeptical at first, seeing the chickens running around the parking lot and such. But the quality of their work (which is the only thing that really matters) is undoubtedly 10/10. I closely inspected all of the clothing and tried them all on. PERFECT FIT, they measured everything at perfect lengths and it's impossible to differentiate them from originals (aside from the altered lengths of course). First time and last time. A friend suggested I give this local shop a try. So I took my suit to get tailored. Some minor hemming on pants and jacket. My wife picked it up while I was at work. When I saw the suit I was not happy. The jacket sleeves were uneven. Both the jacket and pants were wrinkled. And to top it off the jacket had a stain on the back of it. Now I have to get the suit dry cleaned and hopefully a professional can fix what they have done to a brand new suit. I like to shop local, but I will never go back here. read more

I got a dress altered here on an expedited basis and the results were fantastic. I think the shop has been in business for 30 years and many customers are repeats/word of mouth. But knowing myself and the "younger" generation, plus us folks new to Charleston, we carefully check Yelp, Google reviews, BBB information before handing our precious clothing items over. The ladies were nice enough, and even willing to do a quicker 2 day turn around on taking in two shirts which was nice. However, I was not smart enough to ask for prices at the offset, and I've never paid this amount for having shirts taken in. They charged 14 for "each side", so 56 for taking in two shirts, not even dealing with the sleeves. The job is decent at best, small bulges along the whole length of each new seam. So all in all, since I couldn't find prices posted anywhere, they seem like they charge whatever they want. Make sure to get pricing up front. read more

I called to get an estimate of how much it would cost to get a formal dress hemmed. The woman on the phone rudely replied that she had no idea. Then, I asked how long it would take, saying that I needed it by next week. She just said "Nope. Can't do it." And hung up. I will not be going here, obviously. Horrible customer service. read more

These women are brilliant! I repeatedly bring them challenging alterations: dresses that are four sizes too big, collars that need to be removed and replaced, entire dresses rebuilt, and they have done flawless work every time. I had a pair of shorts taken in, a pair of boyfriend jeans taken in and a pair of high waisted jeans taken in. The shorts were taken in, but now sit crooked on my body. The boyfriend jeans were taken in too, but now have a crooked seam down the center of the seat. Finally, the flare jeans were taken in at the waist but with two very sloppy stitches on either side of the back center causing the seat to bunch up in a very unattractive fashion. Honestly, I did get what I asked for but there was no attention to detail and the end product was very sloppy. Diana and her daughter are so sweet and I hate to write a bad review but I'd hate for another person to have their clothes potentially ruined! If you need something simple like a hem done, I'm sure they'd do a great job! read more

Aside from really liking their work and prices, they are just nice people. If you are associated with Boy Scouts and need stuff put on a uniform correctly, her husband is a scoutmaster so no problem. She did give me grief (jokingly) when I took some merit badges I had tried gluing to his sash unsuccessfully. My wife made the mistake of taking some work to a nearby seamstress and I had to make sure she knew about Diana's after that. I go nowhere else. read more
