It combines the best of the past and present. We loved everything about our stay here except having to leave. Has everything you would need for however long you could stay. Full kitchen and bath, bbq, fire pit, great internet, fireplace... great views from your rocking chairs on your front porch. The mercantile is stocked with fantastically curated finds! All in all this venu/Air B and B is a find at a great price! Breakfast can be delivered to your door for $12 a person if you so choose and fire wood is sold at the mercantile. When we were there, the house was so beautifully decorated for Christmas, inside and out. We stayed in the East Chamber, a beautiful suite on the 2nd floor. Joe is a self trained chef, and his palette and skills are beyond compare. When we arrived, there was a freshly made chocolate cake with raspberry filling, house made cookies all the time, and other snacks and drinks available all the time. His breakfast is sumptuous and perfectly delicious, with offerings that change every day. He is also very mindful of dietary restrictions and does everything to please his guests. Absolutely everything is made from scratch, from Chorizo to teriyaki sauce, Joe does it all. If you book in advance, he will even do a special dinner on Saturday night. We are waiting on breakfast now, yum yum, the smell is wafting throughout the house!! No one knows this but when I was younger, way way back, a lady that lived in the house, that used to be owned by the Stone Family, Mrs. Myers, took care of me in this house from when I was a baby till about 5 or 6 years old. She lived in a little apartment upstairs in what now is bedroom # 7, wow memories. Mrs. Myers lived up into her 100's before passing away. We had a fabulous time and will definitely be back!!
