I went on a weekend and it was pretty crowded but we were still serviced within 10 ish minutes. They offer complimentary soft drinks, water, champagne and the weekend I went they had a coffee vendor as well serving lates which was cool. I met with a few jewelry designers who were actually based in California visiting Houston to talk about there collection which was really insightful. Ultimately, I decided on buying a pair of diamond earrings from Diamonds Direct collection. The earrings are beautiful, 3/4 carat in the color D, SI 1. I had the privilege being able to watch them all work on Sunday and saw how well they took care of their customers. After 2 months of research and searching everywhere, we found the perfect fancy vivid pink diamond. We then went to Diamonds Direct in Houston for a Verragio setting and the manager, Kevin Ferrin, was condescending. He called it a cheap lab stone, told us he usually doesn't help people, then walked away while talking to us. He seemed upset because we wouldn't tell him how much we spent on the diamond. We didn't want to tell him because it was a lot of money and I feel uncomfortable having people know how much it costs. He then told us that the Diamonds Direct at another location gave us a price four times more than what he thinks it's worth. He also said that pink diamonds aren't rare at all and that he can get one this size (5.96 CT) anytime for cheap. NONE OF THAT IS TRUE, else we would not have spent 2 months looking. Funnily enough, when I asked him how much it would cost for pink lab melee (must be cheap too, right?), he said they couldn't do that because they can only do natural pink melee. Conveniently, after I posted a review of his terrible service on Reddit, he reached out to me to say that lab melee is now a possibility. He also asked me if my diamond is morganite when we have been to multiple jewelers who knew from the get go what we had, even without showing them the certificate. He also kept trying to minimize the size of the stone which is large at 5.96 CT. We tried to speak with him many times but he was focused on guilt tripping us for not purchasing the stone from him and walking away as he dismissed us. We went to Robbins Brothers right after and felt much more welcomed and respected, and we were given a transparent quote for the setting too (separate price for labor, gold, and melee diamonds). It's a shame because I wanted to work with this location but his tactics of guilt tripping and shaming are not for me. I tried my best to smile through it because I knew my fiance spent a fortune on this diamond and did not deserve to be mocked while we were just happily sharing our joy. I have been to other Diamonds Direct locations and will never go back to the Houston location as they are the only terribly behaved vendor we have had the misfortune to visit. read more

I am writing this review of an outstanding experience I had at the Diamonds Direct location in the Galleria area of Houston, Texas. My husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year and my engagement ring and wedding band have been through a bit of wear and tear to say the least. My engagement ring lost its "roundness," and the part that connects with the center diamond got separated. When I came into the store, I was greeted by friendly faces and helped by Matt Baba. He was extremely professional and kind. Upon inspection of both my engagement ring and wedding band, he noticed that there were a few diamonds in the band that lost their original appearance and were slightly cracked. He had the jeweler replace them and add reinforcements to the band. In addition, he added support underneath the large center diamond. The jeweler, Sergio, also welded the bands together and they look beautiful and brand new again! I feel confident that my wedding ring will look this beautiful for the next 20 years! :o) Matt is an All-Star! I walked in and was immediately astonished by how clean and beautiful the place looked. I was kindly welcomed in by Cynthia, one of their diamond experts. I told them I was looking for an engagement ring, oval, twisted band, etc... and they showed me that exactly. It happened to be in Dallas. They had the diamond within 48 hours and it was what I wanted. The process itself took a few weeks because I made a custom band, which they helped me create. I got 3-D renderings, they worked with me on small changes, and within 6 weeks I had the gorgeous diamond I picked out on the band I envisioned and walked away extremely happy.
