The engagement ring my fiance bought from the Houston Diamond Outlet is beautiful. However, I have had such a negative experience with the staff at this location, that it is almost not worth it. The ring was sized too big and the diamond never rests on the top of my finger. When my fiance and I called to get information about resizing it, the owners did not return our calls, were constantly busy with other costumers, claimed they lost our paperwork, then ultimately accused us of harrassing them, after quoting us four to five days to resize the ring. The saleswoman compared the situation to my teaching job, saying "you are acting like a parent of a student in your class.. parents think every child is the most important and the smartest child that class.. you are not our priority, and it is the holiday season, you and your fiance need to stop calling." Then, THREE WEEKS after my fiance put the ring on my finger, a pave stone from the band fell out and left a gaping yellow hole where the diamond should be! Naturally, I was extremely upset and frustrated, and when I brought the ring into the owner, he plainly stated that this was my fault and he did not "have to" fix it. He and I got so worked up, the woman needed to step in. She continued to embarrass me, upset me, and tell me to my face that I need to stop acting like I am the "most important customer". I would urge to anyone reading this NOT to buy a piece of jewelry from this store. They are able to make you feel like the most important customer the day that you buy it, but if something is to go wrong after the check is cashed, they make it clear that it is not their responsiblity, and I assure you they will make you feel insignificant and frustrated. read more

I purchased an engagement ring from this company for $5K and they issued an appraisal for $10K. The engagement didn't work out and the ring was only worn for 4 months. When I returned to the store to ask the advice as to how to re-sell, they were not helpful at all and indicated that they did not buy back their jewelry. I asked whether they would consider consignment, they said they didn't do that. I asked whether they could obtain another certificate for me, as I misplaced my EGL Certificate, they said that it would take 2-3 months to obtain another certificate. They were not helpful, extremely rude, and I would not recommend them to anyone to purchase a ring at Houston Diamond Outlet. Thereafter, I went to another jewelry store that was helpful and gave me a phone number to obtain a duplicate EGL Certificate for a small fee. Houston Diamond Outlet should have know this! I went to another diamond store to get an appraisal of the ring. They indicated they would purchase the ring from me for $1K. Quite a reduction in price since the ring was only worn for 4 months. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE CROOKS, LIARS, AND DO NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS. read more

Several of my female co-workers purchased their engagement rings from Houston Diamond Outlet. It's nice being referred to a good diamond jeweler by frugal/stingy/brow beating co-workers, I feel they've already done all the vetting! So when it was my time to buy a ring and drop down on a knee, I went to go see 'em. What I liked the most is their willingness to work with me. The ring was modeled after a very unique Tiffany style ring. Once we discussed my budget and diamond characteristics I wanted, they started to work on this custom ring. A few days later I came back to approve the wax mold and the loose diamonds. Then a few days after that I had my ring, and it completely exceeded my expectations. For the price I paid, I am extremely satisfied with the diamond quality and I'm happy knowing my wife has such a classy ring and a fraction of the price of a Tiffany ring. read more

I must say i had a great experience choosing my engagement ring!! I was impressed when i came in for my appointment and the sales person had already had some rings and loose diamonds set aside for me to look at. It was a very personal experience for me and my fiance it was just us in the showroom so we were able to take our time and choose the best setting and diamond. They have lots of settings to choose from and the prices were really good. We ended up getting a 1.50 ct round diamond with a beautiful diamond setting! I absolutely love the way it turned out and will return to get my wedding bands because they had a nice selection of bands as well. read more

I did some research on a good place to find an engagement ring. Houston Diamond Outlet had some great reviews on several other sites. I called and made an appointment, I went in with little to no knowledge on diamonds. Jay was super helpful during this whole process and educating me on diamonds. My fiance came here to get a cheaper version of the ring I wanted. The ring he had made from this place is poorly crafted, to say the least. Also, the diamonds they put on the side of the ring cut into my finger anytime I hit the ring up against something. I went to the store to see if they could help me, and they treated me like the dirt on the floor. First I was talking to a gentleman, and then Maggie interrupted our conversation. She was beyond unprofessional, and before I knew it, we were in a heated argument. Her solution for the diamonds stabbing my finger? Shave them off...That's right! Shave them off! How tacky! And since their wonderful return policy states the ring has to be returned within six days I am stuck with this poor excuse for an engagement ring until I want to pay for an upgrade. My advice to any man about to propose- avoid these CROOKS at all costs. Spend a little more in order to get a well made engagement ring that she will love. After all, your future wife is worth it. Hopefully my nightmare experience will save another couple some time and headaches. read more

So, when we wanted a custom engagement ring, we shopped around, but ended up choosing Houston D O because of the quality of his product, attention to every little detail, and his exceptional customer service. Then JAY set out to source us the PERFECT gem for our ring, scouring 2-3 jewelry shows and calling various dealers in his network. He wouldn't rest until we had exactly what we wanted. You'd think all this personal service and high-quality merchandise would cost a fortune, but in fact, it was the exact opposite. I was looking for a particular style of engagement ring and while other jewellers tried to sell me something else or talk me out of my style ring, Jay patiently listened to my story, looked at the photos I brought with me and took me through their entire vintage selection. I just went in and had the easiest and best experience with buying a ring i could possibly ever ask for. Right when i got there the employees were friendly and made me feel welcomed. Since buying something that important, it did take me quite some time to look. I mean, i wanted to make sure it was the right ring! I called and made an appointment with Houston Diamond Outlet, not knowing it was in a building with other jewelry stores, I stopped at a few before and after just to compare prices. Well needless to say, don't bother with the other shops, they are pushy, bad customer service and the prices don't compare. Houston Diamond Outlets' service was great! I spoke to a friend of mine that said last year he purchased his wife's ring from Houston Diamond Outlet and he was very pleased with how well they helped him and he saved a quite a bit of money compared to what another ring elsewhere was priced at. My fiancé bought be the most beautiful diamond ring here. I am the pickiest woman in the world so of course I went with him and they constantly attended to my many needs. Especially Maggy. They were very knowledgable and helpful making it an enjoyable time. They always returned my calls (which I did a lot because I was so excited) and I went there several times, although the place was always jammed, they always managed to give me personal time and treat me with complete respect. I came in looking for a 20 year anniversary ring for my wife. Right as we got there, they were friendly and their ultimate goal was to make us happy, and they did just that! It is the most mind blowing, georgous ring that i could have bought my wife. She fell in love with it right when she saw it and they helped us find it! Houston Diamond Outlet got the surprise of my life when I opened my Christmas present from my husband. It was the most stunning pair of diamond stud earrings. I was a bit worried at the cost, because we had agreed to not go all out this year, but he assured me the deal was way too good to pass up and the quality of diamonds were better than what he had previously seen at a store in the mall.
