My husband supposed to buy a wedding ring, but since he dont know the difference about engagement ring and wedding ring, he bought instead an engagement ring from Diamonds by Siag. I went with my husband back to the shop to exchange the ring into wedding bands, and we told them we just want the same value and not more (760$) from what was initially paid. The Lady showed me wedding bands, and i told her what are the rings that same ranges with the price of what we paid, she answered back "i will tell you once you choose" I was down to my top 3 wedding bands and she said all of that are in the same range of 760$. When i finally choose the ring, surprisingly the amount is exactly 760$ while not even weighing it. In our minds, the one we choose was definitely lower value of the engagement ring. So i told them i will just choose the other ring that i was comparing. Suddenly, the lady said "its additional than 200$". I was so confused as not even 1 hour, you said that ring is same range of what we're looking for?? We decided to left since we have other plans and just decided to select the first wedding band i choose and not to argue. When my husband returned to pick up the ring, he asked the young man to weight the wedding band we choose and issue us a receipt. While doing the ring weight and quality proof check, the older man and the lady screamed at him and spoke to their language. (God knows if whatever description they put in our new receipt are the real!) They suddenly jump off to stop the young guy and defensively told my husband that the price of that wedding band is higher (showing tag price of thousand$), and they already gave a discount since I am with him... My husband proactively said that we felt the value of the wedding band was definitely lower than the engagement ring. They lady answered him that there's alot more diamonds in the wedding ring compared to the engagement ring so they already give a discount. My husband answered back, how come its more expensive if the weight of the wedding ring is lesser than the engagement ring? She didnt answer that question, but instead she showed another price tag that is more higher than the first one she showed and said that the real price and not the first one she showed? My husband didnt argue as he just left for a break and just let it slide. I personally went to other jewelers, showed them my wedding ring and the photo of the engagement ring, and they all said "we are cheated" ! Diamonds by Siag, we are not millionaires or billionaires. The money we are buying for a wedding ring is from hard work. Its unfair to be played by jewelers like you so you get more money. The setting has served as engagement ring and wedding band for years, holding a very valuable diamond. But I was tired of it. Mr. Siag (Al) and his lovely team of Tova, Evelyn and Olivia suggested I move the diamond to a lighter, more modern setting and use the Victorian piece to hold a sapphire. Easy. Convenient. Beautiful. And at a great price (I compared their plan with prices at two other jewelers, and Siag was 25-30 percent cheaper). The story doesn't end there. The sapphire I owned had two small baguettes in its earlier setting, and Siag's team suggested I use those baguettes as the centerpiece for my first pair of diamond earrings. Brilliant, literally! No matter what you're buying -- your first diamond or your tenth -- you will be well cared for here. All members of the team live by a tight code of ethics. The staff at Diamonds by Siag were extremely helpful in making my engagement proposal a reality and meeting my timeline to make a custom ring! They have an amazing selection of stones. After working with another jeweler for over 6 months, struggling to find the diamond I wanted and getting frustrated at the pace of the progress, I happened into this shop and they were able to physically show me 4 pear-shaped options that fit all the parameters I requested, that same evening! (At least 4 other stores I wandered into were unable to show me multiple, large pear options, or would need weeks to acquire the physical stones and could only show me pictures/video). They were very professional and not too pushy as I decided between the final 2 stones. And they were able to get my ideal setting re-made in 18k rose gold within 4 weeks so that the final ring was ready 1 week before our travels. The ring was slightly large on my fiancé at first (her fault for giving me an outdated ring size) but they were able to re-size the ring at no additional charge within one day. I came here about 2 weeks ago on a Friday to trade in 2 rings. A young gentleman at the counter was too busy trying on an ill-fitting designer suit that he had received in the mail, to even greet me. I didn't even know that he worked there until he went behind the counter. Then, the Spanish woman behind the counter and the older gentleman were too googly-eyed with a man who had some diamond designer watches to sell, to even acknowledge me. Mind you, this is a small store. After they finally finished with the other customer, the older gentlemen showed me some loose diamonds. I wasn't in a rush, so I wasn't irritated but rather found myself in a comfortable environment. Anyway, he didn't have anything that fit my needs and as I continued to look, his daughter walked in and the Spanish woman walked out and I just didn't feel I was getting any attention as a customer. The experience was mundane and far from spectacular (even though I mentioned that I had come there because of the reviews). The older guy asked for me to write my name and number so that he can call me on Monday with new stones. I called again on Saturday to ask him a price for something that I had seen and was potentially interested in. The Spanish woman asked for my number again and said that the owner would call back. I never heard back from them, let alone calling me when they got "new stock". I happened to stop in "Diamonds by Siag" afterwork just by chance on my way to my train at Grand Central. Of all the stores in the diamond district this store was the only one that happened to be open late, and their beautiful window display caught my eye. My band on my engagement ring had broken for the second time, so I stopped in just to ask a question. When I showed Tova Siag my ring she was astonished and said you cant simply walk around with your ring in that condition. You run the risk of not only losing your diamonds but your whole ring. I told her about an idea I had to take my engagement ring and my enhancer band (I used it to keep my ring straight before I got married)and join them together creating an eternity band on my engagement ring. Tova loved the idea of customizing my ring, so we started looking at different ring styles in her showcase. I actually had done some research on my own and had shown Tova a picture of a Verragio ring I loved. She said I can make it for you and also combine your rings together using all the diamonds you got married with. I was so happy and so excited to have my very own custom designed ring. The price she gave was so reasonable and I was able to leave my enhancer as a deposit. Within a months time I reviewed and approved the cad design and a week later my gorgeous new ring was on my finger. I absolutely love my new ring and I loved doing business with Tova. You would think there would be hundreds of Star of David choices from dealers in the NYC diamond district. NO! When we walked into Diamonds by Siag, they said, "of course we have a large selection and can make you whatever you want". The response in my head, "yeah, you can make me whatever I want, ha, sure". I found a pendant that was the style I wanted but way too large. No problem, they did a 3D scan, downsized to my specifications, made a mold and made the piece. There was no obligation to purchase the custom piece until it was done. They chose beautiful diamonds and exactly what I wanted, all done within a week. Since that experience was so good, my husband and I returned to shop for a replacement/upgrade from my diamond ring. First Olivia, Evelyn and finally Tova worked with us to make sure I knew what I wanted. No rush to purchase right away. After their advice and patient education about value and diamond styles, I spent over 6 months looking at websites, magazines and friends rings to focus in on what I wanted. Again, I was told "we can make whatever you want". Before returning to the store I contacted them with the cut and size stone I thought I wanted, so they brought in several choices for me to consider. At the store we designed the setting by selecting elements of several different rings.
