Nice Japanese buffet place. So good. Too bad I live in USA otherwise I will be their regular customer.

I've been going to Diamond every time I'm in Barrie since 2010. Diamond is a great spot to meet up and enjoy some of Barrie's finest sushi, sashimi and other tasty delights. I like to start with edemame, and then sashimi (at dinner) or sushi (at lunch). As other reviews suggest, the dessert, both mango pudding and deep fried bananas are definitely worth saving room for. Their service has drastically improved since the last time I was there, with more servers whose first language is English. The one thing I dislike is the open concept seating. It's basically a large room crammed with seating and it can feel cramped sometimes. When they're busy, it does have a tendency to get quite loud. If you or one of your friends are not the biggest fan of sushi in general, the sliced thin and marinated ribs are absolutely to die for, and it's AYCE! This restaurant and the ribs are the only reason my boyfriend agreed to go the first time, and we fondly discuss and salivate about Diamond when we are home in Nova Scotia. You should also know there's a discount for paying cash.

The price for one adult, all-you-can-eat Lunch on a Friday (I think the price is different Fri-Sun vs Mon-Thurs)

Good sushi. Ordering is done on an iPad, which is nice because you're never waiting around for the server to come back to take your orders. Others have posted lots of pictures so I don't need to. I particularly liked their Special Roll that had the salmon slice on top, inside the sushi roll there was avocado, shrimp tempura, crab, cucumber, and whatever their mayo sauce was. I also really enjoyed the beef short ribs. I went on a Friday for lunch at 1:30pm. Price for one adult for all-you-can-eat Lunch on this day was $15.99.

I come here often. All you can eat sushi with a lot of selection. Lots of very unique maki rolls a huge selection of hand rolls. Also don't be afraid to try some of their special rolls which has rolls with bacon in it. And even rolls with bananas in it. The service is pretty quick and the food is very delicious and for what you pay and for what I can generally chow down , the price is very fair.

All you can eat?! And we did!!! Super fresh and great way to order your selections. Good variety and a busy spot. The couple sitting next to us offered guidance for ordering and things worked out great. Will tell our friends and look forward to coming back.

Came to Barrie and found Diamond Sushi near by and decided to give it a try without reading any review. We order all u can eat lunch...$16 .99 plus tax n gratitude. For what we pay, it is definitely worth it. Services is good and our server is friendly and it was SAT afternoon so not crowded at all. About foods, I think taste is good enough but the sushi rices are a bit dry. Also the portion is too big. I could not put the sushi in one bit to my mouth. In general too much rices for each sushi and handroll. All portion is big. I like the cumcumber crabmeat salad. Tasty! Miso soup is a bit light. Beef ribs are tender and tempura is good enough. Love the stired fries vegetables. Lunch buffet does not offer sashimi. However, the curry Japanese fish balls are not good..I would not call them Japanese style..... Drink is not included but hot tea there is hot and good. I would recommend anyone near in Barrie to try this place. Hope next time when I am in town to visiT them again.

My friend and I came here for a quick comfort eat. There was…read morea slight wait for a table but it was less than 5 minutes which was good. The order taking and service itself was quite longer than we would've thought it would be. We probably waited for our order for at least 15 min. We ordered the Chirashu Ramen, Tonkotsu Miso and Agedashi Tofu. However, Sapporo Miso Ramen was mistakenly served to us instead of the Tonkotsu Miso which was quite disappointing. The food were great. The broths were light and nicely balanced with flavour, not too salty. The shrimps in the Sapporo Miso Ramen were cooked perfectly but the pork in the Chirashu Ramen was a bit chewy. The soy sauce served with the Agedashi Tofu had a hint of sweetness which was quite refreshing to the palate. Overall, the food satisfied our cravings but the promptness and accuracy of the service could be improved.

The ramen was tasty, very consistent -- great portion sizes on the normal bowls and terrific value…read moreon the king-sized meal; a perfect dinner stop on the way back from skiing! Service was very attentive, with staff clearing bowls and refilling water frequently. It's quite a small restaurant with very little seating (we saw lots of people turned away during peak dinner hours), so a reservation is recommended on Fridays or weekends. Overall a nice spot and would visit again.

Spoon and Fork was a pretty decent AYCE restaurant. The service was fast and the servers were…read morefriendly. The place was clean and tidy, and had lots of seating. We were highly satisfied with their fried food, specifically their tempuras (4/5) and scallops (5/5). Their bok choy was cooked well and had a delicate flavour of garlic (5/5). Their skewers were good. The beef and chicken dishes were tender and juicy (4/5). Our favourite was the garlic butter shrimp (5/5) and the torched salmon sushi (3.5/5). However, the sushi rice was too dense and overly sticky. The siu mai (2.5/5) was disappointing because the wrap was a bit dry. The sashimi cuts (1/5) were also disappointing. They weren't as firm as we hoped they would be. We also had dessert afterwards. The creme brulee was too sweet but they had a nice selection of ice cream flavours.

We went to this AYCE restaurant and had a really disappointing experience. You're supposed to order…read morethrough an app at your table, and then a waiter comes over to confirm. When the male waiter came by, he told us we shouldn't order so much at one time (we had over 40 items). But with four people at the table, that's really not excessive--especially since each single piece of sashimi counts as one item. I alone could easily finish a plate of 12 sashimi raw fish pieces (12 items). The portions were also very small. The soup came in a tiny teacup, and the fried tofu was about the size of dice (1 item count). On top of that, the service was unpleasant. The staff gave us attitude, as if we were eating too much--which is ridiculous for an All You Can Eat place. The food selection was quite limited too. Many dishes tasted the same, especially the beef items. And several popular Japanese choices were missing--no grilled eel sushi, no tobiko, no short ribs, and no grilled squid for lunch. These are all regular lunch items if you go AYCE restaurant in Toronto. We also received dishes we didn't order, and when informing the waiter they were obviously not very happy and keep frowning Overall, this was the most disappointing AYCE experience we've ever had. Next time we'll definitely go to Mandarin instead--it's much better value and service.

Keeping in mind that the place is called Sushi and Tree, it was a cool detail to know that she was actually Korean (not Japanese). For a restaurant named Sushi and Tree, it was nice that they still have ramen available on their menu. While there are only just a couple of ramen dishes in the menu, the RS6 Spicy Katsu Cheese Ramen ($23) we sampled was special. The cheese slice that came with the ramen slowly melted and mixed into the broth, producing a rich, creamy soup. The generous portions of katsu that were part of the dish were also perfectly fried and complemented the rest of the dish nicely. Our group that came in all ordered the Spicy Katsu Cheese Ramen, and it did take a while for the order to be ready. Our hostess did mention that detail early and politely informed us about it. It was a welcome surprise that she gave us some spring rolls on the house for our wait. This restaurant is a good recommendation for the cheese ramen and the exceptional service. It was just a little unfortunate that the available indoor seating was not too many. As we were dining, several customers came in looking to dine, but had to cancel because there just were not enough table spaces to accommodate all of them.
