If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. North country friendly and approachable with a sophisticated set of offerings. Some really unique cocktails too. Not a boring thing on the menu.

Service was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. We are already planning on coming back Sunday for brunch and know we'll be back again soon for dinner.

Our waitress was kind and made suggestions of what she liked on the menu. We were informed that there were no specials, but also that several items were not available. This was surprising to me as it was a Saturday night and had just opened. We placed our orders and were given bread. The bread pieces were cute into tiny triangles and when it was finished, I requested another basket but was told that it would cost us $3. As a group of 8 people, we should have been given 2 baskets of bread from the start. We were spending enough money on drinks and dinner that the restaurant could have provided a second basket of bread. Our meals arrived and there was a mistake with 2 orders. One person had to wait a long time to receive their meal while the rest of the party had theirs. We inquired with the waitress about the meal and that's when we found out that because of the mixup, they had to make a new order for him. As for the food, 4 of our party ordered the duck and enjoyed it. The rice pilaf tasted like rice cooked in bullion and that's it. My sister ordered the chipotle tortellini and enjoyed it. I ordered the broiled scallops which were supposed to be sea scallops but were actually bay scallops and pretty disappointing. In all, the experience was mediocre. I think it could be a decent restaurant if more effort was made to make it great instead of just ok.

Unfortunately, once seated, the experience started to unravel. While the view is spectacular when you're standing, the view from our table highlighted a lack of attention to basic upkeep. We were looking at dead leaves, spider webs, and general grime. For a luxury resort, I was genuinely surprised by the condition of the dining area. Service was another disappointment. Our waitress seemed wholly disinterested, not just with our table but with nearly every table around us. Guests were frequently trying to get her attention for forgotten items, drink refills, or simply to place orders. For dinner, my husband ordered the short rib pappardelle. I asked if I could have the spaghetti pomodoro but substitute pappardelle noodles. My son ordered plain spaghetti with light butter. When the food arrived, my son's pasta was swimming in butter to the point that we had to pour some onto a side plate. More frustrating was that both my husband and I were served the short rib pappardelle. When I explained that I had ordered the pomodoro sauce with pappardelle noodles, our server simply responded, "This is how the pappardelle is served." I understand how the confusion may have happened, but there was no attempt to clarify, correct the mistake, or offer an alternative. Had I known I couldn't substitute the pasta shape, I would have happily ordered the spaghetti pomodoro as listed on the menu. Given how long the meal had already taken, I reluctantly kept the dish. To be fair, we decided not to write the restaurant off completely and returned for breakfast later in the week. While the service was once again inattentive and disengaged, the food itself was much better than dinner. This restaurant has a lot going for it: a beautiful setting, convenient seating policy, and some good food. However, better attention to cleanliness, staff engagement, and order accuracy would go a long way toward creating the upscale experience you'd expect from a luxury resort.

Honestly, half was more than enough for me -- and it came with fries and a pickle, which was plenty. I especially loved that it was served on ciabatta bread (so much better than a regular sandwich roll, in my opinion). Bloody Mary was nicely presented but not spicy enough! One entree was the crab cake, which was mostly filler and not crab, and came out so cold it was inedible. The second was the Baja fish tacos, which were cold and chewy (we also ordered them with fries which we never got). When the waiter came to check on how we were doing we let him know we were unhappy and he said he would get a manager, which he never did, and just brought the check. We asked for the manager to come over & he didn't apologize or offer a solution to rectify the situation he just kept saying "I hear you, I understand". Finally, when we asked him what was going to be done about the situation he said "I'll take half off of the bill", so we handed him the credit card with the original bill. He came back, gave us back our card and the new bill. The new bill did not have half taken off, it had half taken off of the two entrees we had an issue with. As we got up, the waiter came running over to say "we didn't run your card that's just the new bill". Overall, the food wasn't good but the service and management is what was worse. The manager was very dismissive and not helpful at all. I would steer clear of this restaurant at all costs !
