Paid for parking using QR code in parking lot, and received confirmation that my session started. Returned to my vehicle within my paid session time and found a ticket on my vehicle. Started the dispute and since there is no proof of MY license plate on any of their app's they claim I didn't pay. Even though I have proof of payment that is time stamped on my bank statement. So instead of paying $14 for 2 hours now they want $83. It looks like they are now going to drag out the dispute process until I either cave and pay them or until I decide to file a class action lawsuit over $14. It is criminal and irresponsible conduct on their part. If their confirmation of payment on the app, doesn't confirm that YOUR vehicle's session has started, they can try to claim you didn't pay. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have never experienced such an unhelpful company before. They issued me a $80 + ticket after I had proof of having paid for my time parking. They were very adamant that after I had given a session ID, payment confirmation, and asked for an appeal I was still in the wrong. Not to mention this went weeks of no late responses. I then was issued a "one time courtesy" pass. They will take your money if they can no matter the proof and hold it against you if you happen to slip up again. Paybyphone app says that this parking lot is closed. But she still came up took a photo of my license plate then inform me that I had to pay. She said that I have to use the new app. $5.70 for two hours is ridiculous. There are no options for free parking in downtown and there is nothing to do worth five dollars downtown. There's a reason our downtown has become worse and worst it's diamond parking lots and easy park! I hate you both it's a Saturday and easy park is ticketing people for staying slightly over the limit and diamond is paying their employees to walk through every diamond in the lot. Staff are somewhat pushy and rude. Have seen multiple interactions where someone has parked been there less than 2 mins and the staff come out and say well i have to give you a ticket you should pay. I would say avoid both of the company's but then you would have to not park downtown as they own all of downtown. Not to much downtown other than a hand full of great food places. read more

Genuinely terrible experience. We parked in a Diamond lot while attending a concert, and paid using their app. We received a parking ticket despite this, claiming that we hadn't paid. The lot attendant promised it'd be "taken care of" and took the ticket away from us - luckily, I took a picture of it, otherwise I would have had no way to check on the dispute. After going online 2 days later and seeing that the ticket was still showing up, I called their customer service and the guy on the line was incredibly rude. I was trying to ask when I should expect the ticket to be voided and he kept telling me he couldn't give me any estimate but "if they told you it'll get taken care of, it'll get taken care of." He eventually ended up saying "well I keep telling you that it'll be taken care of, I'm not sure what you want me to do about it" and just generally was condescending to me the entire time, talking to me like I'm slow and dismissing my concerns. At this point, I'll go several blocks out of my way if needed to park with EasyPark instead- they've never given me an issue. read more

I am local and why would I let an out of state company who I know nothing about have a copy of my drivers license and credit card on file. After a snowfall that was the worst in ten years, I moved my car into an EMPTY parking lot, with no obstructions, no other cars, etc. Why, because my spot was so snowed in, I feared that I would not get be able to get it out again if I parked there. Diamond Parking committed fraud and when they were presented with the evidence, they refused to consider it. I parked in a Diamond Lot earlier this month and followed their instructions for paying online. I saw that their parking fee had been deducted from the credit card I used. When I returned to my car, I had a printed slip from Diamond Parking Service indicating that I had NOT paid and that I owed $46.50 if paid within 15 days and $76.50 if I paid after 15 days. I contacted them on their website, provided a copy of my credit card statement proving I had paid for the spot. They denied my appeal the next day (probably via an AI bot) which means they were billing me a second time for the exact same thing, even after being given proof that it had already been paid. That is the textbook definition of fraud. They are dishonest so I went online to simply pay the fee rather than mess with these jerks any longer. When I did, they committed the second instance of fraud. Instead of being able to pay the $76.50 as stated in their notice, their system charged me $83.00 (plus a $1.00 handling fee). If you see anything from Diamond Parking, please stay away and use another option! In my case, they double billed me, then charged me more than they said I owed - all of which is illegal and fraudulent. Stay away from this disreputable company. read more

They require pay-by-phone over the internet, which would be okay if you could figure out what web site to use for paying, but, Diamond Parking does not list the web site URL, to use for paying, on their signs. They do have a QR code on their signs, which is legit, but cannot be read in the dark. And it is dark alot in Anchorage. If you use Google to search for the web site for paying, you end up at a phishing scam, not affiliated with Diamond Parking but very sleek, official-looking and effectively dangerous. I was fooled but my credit card issuer detected the scam. There are two simple solutions: 1) Diamond Parking could simply list the URL on their signs, for use instead of the QR code in the dark. 2) Do not park in Diamond Parking lots. read more

UPDATE After emailing them they responded and wanted to work together to fix the problem. They refunded my money for the parking fine. It's nice to see good people and businesses wanting to grow and get better. Parking app is so damn glitchy I put my card info in three times and then it just vanishes when I try to move to the next page. Then they charge not only a stupid big city fee, but a "handling fee". You know when you're that person that everyone hates, but you think everyone loves you. That's you Diamond parking. No one likes you. Also try to clean up the glass in the parking lot. The employees at the airport location were so courteous and professional, big shout out to Fía, she went above and beyond to help me find a spot, stayed on the phone until I did, also Sione, the shuttle driver, very respectful and professional, so far Anchorage airport has exceeded expectations with great customer service. read more

Paid for parking in Anchorage following the app directions but evidently the payment never went through. No error warning, no do you wish to continue, nothing except for a ticket when I came out of the show. Gave pictures of what I took on my phone and they said that was the page before the payment. Pull in, grab a ticket, and hang out by your car until they pick you up and take you to the airport. Then when you come back catch the bus at ground transportation. When a business provides a service or goods I want or need I am happy to pay the market price for that benefit. I'll even tip generously and gladly come back. Win-win is a wonderful thing. Some businesses are predatory. Others continue because they exercise some sort of limited monopoly, not because anybody likes likes spending their money at those places. I pulled into this garage one snowy night and parked evenly between two cars. The floor of the garage where I parked was covered by snow that had been blown in by the gusting and swirling winds outside. In the morning I found a parking ticket on my car issued by the parking garage, a private business, not the police department. What was my offense? I had parked too close to the painted line on the floor designating the boundaries of the parking stall. Ridiculous, the lines were obliterated by the blown in drifting snow. My car was evenly parked between the vehicles on either side. It's an urban location (Alaska style) and they have a limited monopoly as parking spaces can be hard to find. I avoid this parking garage as much as possible. They don't care, and it shows. If you have an option I would recommend avoiding this parking garage. read more

The large sign at the entrance on the street advertised $1.50 an hour before 4 PM. I entered at 3 PM and went to the nearest kiosk to pay by credit card. I was shocked to find parking for 3 hours cost $14. I didn't have time to go to another lot. I was upset so I went to the entry sign and photographed it along with information about the company. They advertised a 30 minute response to any phone calls with problems. I called and the person was polite but unable to help and told me to call back tomorrow. The subsequent day I spoke with a man who claimed that I had parked in a different lot having crossed an (unmarked) alley and that each kiosk was for a separate lot. He said that it would be "asinine" to have to put up signs clarifying different rates for different "lots". I assured him that I was an intelligent observant person and there is no way for someone entering the lot to know that these are different lots with different rates. After some arguing he did give me a refund. But I am concerned that this is a false advertising tactic and he seemed unwilling to look into clarifying the signage. Beware. read more

I am writing an update to my previous review to give credit to Diamond Parking for contacting me first thing Monday morning when they opened for business to correct the issue regarding the refund. They offered to either send me a check for the $10 directly and/or donate the money to a charity. While I was upset that the system wouldn't allow for me to use the $10 immediately towards parking, I have to give credit for Diamond for quickly contacting me and refunding me the $10. I should've parked in the EasyPark garage half a block away. Parked and paid $5 for two hours in the small lot on 5th St just west of the North Face store. Busy downtown and free evening parking on the street was not to be had quickly. Ran over the allotted time by a 15 minutes and sure enough, returned to find a ticket on the windscreen. Unsurprised at seeing it there, but when I opened it to find a $35 'Parking Notice Fee' - message clearly received - will take my business elsewhere and warn others to do so as well. Had I parked in the parking garage? Would've paid $3 total instead of $2. Lesson learned. Update 12/2015 - changed rank to 3 stars. I rented from Hertz and they share the same parking garage. I didn't know which way was the exit. I parked in a spot that was near the Hertz entrance to speak to an attendant. A rude old man yelled at me to move the car! Not politely but very rude. I simply explained I just rented from Hertz and I'm not sure which way is the exit. I was very disappointed in my overall experience last night. It took the shuttle 40 minutes to pick us up at the airport! It was snowing and cold and I had an infant.
