I don't know much about nail salons. This is my first review of one... but my wife has gone to Diamond Nails for quite a while now, and after visiting with her for a pedicure, I feel I can honestly rate it. Diamond Nails has plenty of parking- located at the Indian Hills shopping plaza. Upon walking in, there are a few nail technician tables on the left and some pedicure chairs on the right with some polish racks in the center. We had an appointment for two pedicures, but weren't seated in our chairs until about 15 minutes after. The chairs seemed a bit worn out. The leather has seen better days, and the massage feature was too aggressive for me, no matter which setting I used. It felt like rocks being rubbed on my back. The pedicure itself was fine, and my wife says it stands up to many she's had at other nail places. Compared to places I remember visiting with my mom as a kid/teen, it has a less harsh nail chemical smell, and I enjoyed the relaxing environment. The technicians spoke to each other very quietly. I always remember loud talking and yelling across the room at nail salons when I was young. Overall, I don't have much to compare it to, but Diamond Nails offered a positive pedicure experience, and I would return. read more

Diamond Nails is hands down the best nail salon I've ever been to... I've been to a lot of salons over the years, and no one compares, especially in the Carson City area. The nail art is flawless, the shaping is always perfect, and they pay so much attention to detail. They never rush, and my nails come out exactly how I imagined, if not better. And the foot massage is honestly one of the best I've ever had. The salon is clean, everyone is friendly, and I always leave feeling pampered. I won't go anywhere else. Terrible experience. Had an appt for a gel mani/pedi. They could not have rushed through any quicker and put little to no effort into their work. Because of the chronic gel polish use, my nails have become brittle and broken. They put tips with thick acrylic on two nails and the rest are mix and matched lengths. When I asked about just doing a full set-the woman could not be bothered. She literally just painted right over the dust. My nails are thick, and bubbly. They look horrible. There's excess acrylic under my thumb, ridges and gaps. Didn't help to speak up, she was not interested in helping me. I will never go back here. The worst part of it- I was literally the only patron in there at the time, it's not like she had to rush to move on. Terrible service, terrible nails. read more

I've been going to this place for awhile. Lately, I noticed that they are extremely greedy when it comes to tipping. I generally will tip 20% or higher for great service, but stick to 15% for basic, rushed or mediocre service. Last time I asked the guy if he could break my $20 since I like to tip in cash, and instead of asking me what I wanted (which was a $10 and 2 fives), he blurted out "2 tens right?". I was like "I guess?..." That put a bad taste in my mouth so I decided to give it 1 more go. I went today with an appointment for a gel manicure. The lady seemed annoyed, rushed through it. 15 minutes top! Did a half assed job and just couldn't be bothered. I decided I would leave her a $5 tip on a $35 mani due to the unpleasantness of the whole experience. When she saw I was handing her $40, she literally snatched it from my hand and about faced, walking away without a single acknowledgment. I won't go back and I will let all my friends and family know. Very sad. Very greedy. read more

Been coming several times. Hit and miss. I got the deluxe and if that was the deluxe will never do again. Lady that was next to me started before me got the deluxe. And I was done far before her!! Lady older Lady went to paint my toe nails 6 times they were not painted all the way lumps all over all of them. Even the lady next to me said they looked terrible. The guy doing the lady next to me said something and another lady came over to do them. A little better but still terrible!! I just didn't want to sit there anymore. Really sad read more

I called for a same day appointment and Lily was able to get me in a couple hours later. I asked for French tip acrylic with some length and I showed her a reference picture and she matched it absolutely perfectly. I highly recommend!! read more

I've been to this salon a couple times and the first two visits were great! Did exactly what I wanted and my nails looked beautiful! BUT I just recently went there and got a dip manicure. I showed the nail tech my inspo picture and she basically told me no and that I could only have a design on one finger. I was a little confused because I've gotten multiple designs before. I asked if I could show her a different inspo picture and she assured me that she could do this design. She then proceeds to have every tech come and say the same thing. I felt so embarrassed for even asking. When I asked if I could get them on all fingers, they said no. So I asked about two fingers instead (not knowing they would only do my ring finger at the end). When I asked to get them shorter, the tech annoyingly asked "shorter?!", as if I asked for her to cut down to the skin lol. She started filing them down aggressively. After that, she did three little basic flowers on my finger and then proceeded to put the finishing gloss on the other nails that were plain. At this point I didn't want to ask, since I wasn't getting the design, if i could get color instead of nude plain nails. I will not be going here again. I've been going to Sam and Lily since before they opened their business at Diamond Nails! They are all fabulous and wouldn't go anywhere else ! Sam is usually my guy that I go to, but I've also had Lily and Lisa give me pedicures and manicures! Today was an exceptional day , since I brought my husband in for a desperately needed pedicure! He can't say enough good things about Diamond Nails and especially to Lisa, for taking care of him today! For my husband to give this business so many compliments, is a big deal! Went in to get my feet done. They told me to pick a color which I was doing when multiple times I was told to come and sit down! I looked at him and told him I haven't picked out my color yet! When I grabbed my color he told me again to come sit down! He began to take my polish off and asked me if I wanted something in my water (trying to make more money) I told him no then I asked him if he could put a tiny bit of acrylic on my big toe which was split and he told me if you want me to do that it's going to cost you 5.00 dollars extra!!! I've never been charged any other place for doing that so I got up and walked out! Anyways I will never even think of going to that place again! I went in for a pedicure today and it was the quickest pedicure I've ever had. Less than 30 minutes. Rather disappointing, I felt rushed and received the bare minimum.. I called in the morning and they got me in the same day, which was nice. I understand they are busy and possibly short staffed but I would have rather waited for a day when they have more time to offer service. read more

my husband got my daughter and i some relaxing deluxe pedicures for our mommy daughter day. called for a 3 oclock appointment, they asked if i could come earlier, i said 245? they said yes. get there and WAIT. when we get to our chairs my water is COLD. i ask for warmer water and am ignored. the man starts on my daughter, shes nine. it was painful to watch as he ordered her around and did his best to turn her pedicure into some kind of race. after the worlds quickest and most awkward pedicure was done we sat, me, with my feet in cold water. finally, an older lady comes to give my pedicure. she clipped my nails and didnt even file the top of the nails. theyre all jagged. there was minimal exfoliation and massage. the lavender lotion was selected for me which i had to shower off after i arrived back home because i smelled so strongly like an 100 year old woman it was making me nauseated. even my husband whos bothered by nothing couldnt stand the musty old perfume smell. it was awful. my toes look like a child painted them in addition to their nail polish being such low quality. id been here before earlier this year and didnt feel the quality of service justified the cost. had it not been a gift i wouldnt have been back. yesterdays visit solidifies that diamond nails is more concerned with volume than quality. missed the opportunity to bond because theres nothing relaxing about being treated like cattle. wont be returning. read more

I've had a bad experience at this place. I asked for nails and showed them in picture of what I wanted, it wasn't close to what I wanted it had hairs in it and was very bubbly and the design was bad. I called and asked to get them fixed they costed $60 and a tip and I went in the next day and he told me I wasn't able to fix them and do a color change because I didn't want the overall design anymore. I do not recommend going here very over priced and not very nice people. read more

The absolute worst dip manicure I've ever gotten. I chose a color and after they finished, the manicure was disgusting and had all these cloudy pieces in it, like there was dirt or something in the powder. The technician then offered to paint it over with a gel color that didn't match. I didn't really have much alternative at that point, since the dip was absolutely gross and I couldn't leave them that way. So then he just painted over the dip with a completely hideous color in the same shade that I said I hated and that also had glitter in it after I SPECIFICALLY said that I could not have glitter because of my job. Horrible, horrible service-- didn't offer for me to come back to change them at a discounted rate or anything like that and then charged full price. I've been getting dip powder done every few weeks for years and I've never had anything even remotely like this happen. I just moved to the area and this was my first time here; I will literally never come back. Horrible service. Genuinely not trying to be a dick, my nails just look absolutely hideous. read more

Well it's close and been there several times made appointments and still have to wait over 20 mins! Then I get my pedicure started and had to get up to get my nails filled. After nails were done I went back to get my pedicure polish was still on from my old pedicure and he's getting ready to paint. My toenails didn't scrub. My feet didn't do anything with my cuticles nothing I got no pedicure. All he did was take my gel polish almost off. I was very disappointed and then I get charged $35 for a pedicure, I literally did not have a pedicure just a waste of my time. I'm not going back there. Just gonna have to go back somewhere else. Too bad they lost a good customer. I even told the guy that was doing my toes and he really didn't care. I told him you have not done anything to my toes. I said you have not filed. I have walked in before and didn't get my normal person - and the person who did my nails was still amazing! I prefer Lilly but after going today I saw so many people walk out with gorgeous nails, I don't think you could go wrong with any one of them. Last time, I took my elderly father in for his first ever pedicure and they were so nice to him. No snarky comments about his feet/toenails. I didn't want to leave a bad review but this was by far the worst nail experience I've ever received. I waited 40 minutes until they were ready to take me back. ( Even though I had an appointment) This whole time, the owner kept asking me to pick a color, even though I told her I had a picture. She seemed annoyed and stopped asking for me to pick a color. When it was finally my turn, an older lady with brown hair and glasses sat me down. I showed her the picture and she instantly got an attitude for no reason. She proceeded to show her coworkers the picture I had shown her. I don't understand why in that moment she didn't simply say, hey I can't do this type of design. Instead she chose to do them in an angry manner constantly yanking on my arm telling me she couldn't reach me. Our knees were already touching! She did not hand draw anything like the picture but instead chose cheap dollar store stickers to decorate my nails with. When I got to the register to pay, I noticed one of the stickers coming off. We went back to the table to "fix" it. She took the sticker off but didn't have the same one to replace. Instead she picked a haunted house that didn't match and was placed backwards. (It's pictured here, middle finger) By this time I was already tired of explaining things so I didn't say anything else. She then proceeded to tell me it would be $70 dollars!
