Went for couple pedicures and we have been before but this time was really bad. I could barely feel her push cuticles and or cut them. I had to pointed out that I had a bunch of dry skin on my pinky toes. Literally had barely any callus work done and I haven't had a pedicure in a couple months so you know they needed it. It's very irritating paying someone basically $45 per hour and have it done half ass!! I did nails professionally many years ago for many years and never would I do a half ass job. This is the only salon I have gone to for 2 years. I only see Jenny because she always does such an amazing job. I get acrylics and gels. Jenny gets close to the cuticle which I love. Polish is always done seamlessly and she will change it if I don't like it. She takes her time and is very precise with her work. The prices are better than anywhere else I know of. It's best to make an appointment a few days before. It's more convenient for both you and her. She'll sometimes take walk ins though. 11/10 would recommend!! read more

Very displeased with my service the gentleman who helped me I believe is the only man who works there he was very rough on my nails and made me bleed in a couple different spots he left the drill in one spot for too long and every time I told him that it hurt order to please be more gentle he would go even more rough the cost was outrageous they kept changing the cost from 45$ to 50 then up to 55 in a matter of 30 seconds I did not leave them a Tip due to them changing the price So much When I did not change the length of my nails at all don't change the price and maybe But I would have gotten a tip if the gentleman would have been a little more gentle I can keep going on about my experience but if you would like to save money and still get amazing nails that don't look bruised dont come here. read more

I came in with my mom for a fill and was having a great experience at first. Then I checked my nails and noticed they weren't filed very nicely or evenly so I asked the man if he could fix them. He went from telling me my finger was just crooked, to trying to hand me the file to do it myself, to throwing his hands up saying he gave up. The whole time, I tried to tell him it was okay if he couldn't make them even but he just kept telling me I was wrong. I've gotten my nails done for years, this is the first time I've had a problem with a nail tech not being able to get my nails straight. It was about 40 minutes until close and I was about 20 away so I called to make sure they were okay with doing a full set and they said yes. Her name is escaping me, but the gal with the short hair and glasses listened to every little thing I said (I can be a little particular about my nails but I try to communicate as best I can to avoid stress) and they are perfect. Horrible manicure. They were running a special for manicure-pedicure combo. Great pedi by a different stylist...horrible manicure BY THE OWNER of the salon. Rushed through my manicure, to get to a group of people who had just walked in. Used a dirty paper towel to set my hands on for the whole process and kept wiping it over my hands, getting nail clippings and cuticle clippings all over my skin, which was later rubbed into my skin during the meager 1.5 minute massage of my arms. While my nails were drying for 15 minutes or so (something rediculous) I had to constantly keep looking in his direction to try to get him to come over and wipe all the polish off my skin and cuticles that he had slopped everywhere. I first stumbled onto this gem of a salon in the fall of 2009 after looking for someplace that could repair the botched-up nail job I'd received at the Carson City Beauty Academy. I called New Image in desperation, and Donna, one of the manicurists, was able to get me in the same day. Donna's work is professional and the finished look is perfect. I prefer the more natural look of a French manicure, but their polish selection is incredible if you're looking for a color. As for pricing, I find New Image Salon to be quite reasonable. New Image Salon not only does manicures but pedicures and hair styling as well. They also graciously cater to wedding parties. The interior is newly re-decorated with a spa type atmosphere. This is a nice surprise to find in a shop located between The Grocery Outlet and Nevada Gun Exchange. Having only had my nails done here, I can't accurately review the hair styling side of the business. But, I can say that the gals that are leaving after having their hair "done" all look nice and seem pleased with their new looks. I royally messed up my hair about a month ago. I bleached it and over processed it. After the bleach, I was left with stiff, brittle, and breaking white hair. It took over ten hours to dry. My hair was gummy and I was terrified to brush it because it would just fall out. With my fried and damaged hair, I walked into this shop and met with Olivia for a consultation. I really thought we would have to shave my head and start all over again. Instead she sold me a bottle of Olaplex 3 treatment and sent me home for a week. After one use, the Olaplex absolutely saved my hair. I was able to brush it again and it stopped breaking off. My hair was soft again and on its way to normal. I used it three times leading up to my actual appointment with Olivia. However, it was still bright white. Going into my appointment with Olivia, I wasn't very confident that she could help the color very much. I wasn't sure that a natural color would stick to my super white, porous hair. Olivia is magic though. She took her time and made sure everything turned out perfectly. She colored, highlighted, and treated my hair with more Olaplex. She trimmed it up a bit and sent me on my way. My hair is soft, bouncy, shiny, and vibrant. The color is staying in wonderfully. Everything about what Olivia did to my hair is absolutely perfect. I have zero complaints and I will definitely be returning to see Olivia for all future hair care needs. Also, the price was amazing. She didn't overcharge at all. This place is garbage. They did a good job the first couple times but seem to have an issue with doing a good job all of the time. Then when I called to complain that there's chunks of acrylic and gel all over my fingers and that it's uneven and has spots in it they just try to act like it's my fault. But here's a photo see for yourself: Around the edges by the cuticles there is no even this whatsoever. I called and made an appointment for 2 manicures at the same time, they said come at noon. Yet they did one of us at a time. My mom got a French manicure and there's dents in her nails, and they didn't even clean the dirt behind her nails, she had to excuse herself to clean behind her nails after the lady filed. Then when I was next, she did not sanitize anything. The bell on my nails is jagged, over the cuticles and bubbly because she did 5 coats of gel. I will NEVER be back. I went in recently for a gel manicure which seem to be really popular, the gel manicure was okay, I would say great but they left nail polish all over my cuticles and if you've ever gotten a gel manicure you know that's NO GOOD! I had to come home and remove the excess polish myself because the manicurist didn't do it right the second time I asked him. Another thing that bugged me was the fact that i made an appointment with a specific manicurist ( Nick) and he left me half way through the appointment to attend another customer who had missed her appointment and decided to come in 3 hours later... That is why I made an appointment and showed up ON TIME I think that was really unprofessional of his part. One of the hairstylist husbands ended up doing my nails, and it seemed like he didn't know what he was doing Overall its an OK place, if you do decide to go in make sure to make an appointment with Louise or Luis however you pronounce it I have 2 girlfriends who go to him and swear he is the best. I do go to Magic Nails, next to Grocery Outlet in Carson City about once a month. Usually, the gals are good, helpful and you get a good job. However, they have a new gal named Cyndy who is just plain weird... and rough!. I got a pedicure and it was finished in less than 30 minutes. She didn't ask me anything like if I wanted them short... just did what she needed. The massage part... ok ...that was a full minute, and it hurt! After I was done I just sat there to dry. She nodded to take out the paper towel stuff between my toes. Finally she just "pulled" it out with a yank! Seriously, if I go back there, I will not have her to my pedicure again. AND she used the same utensils on the next person. Did not clean in between. This place is getting really cheap again. Also, it is really sad when you walk in for the first time. I have been to new image many times, the coworkers are great! Don't get me wrong. But I went in last week to get my nails done and to start off with my appointment was at 1:25 and I didn't get helped til 2:25 with plenty of ladies just sitting in their spa chairs. I was kinda upset because I had almost came into work late. I got there at 1:20. And didn't leave til 3:45. And all I had done was a acrylic fill which should usually only take 30 minutes. Super rip off! I came in to get a gel polish job done which was quoted at $15. Okayy... The polish job was not finished on the ends of my nail. Also I have short nails and it was applied way too far away from my cuticle which might have saved them polish but made my nails look even shorter and like they were grown out when just finished! Then she offered a pedicure, and I asked how much she said $25. Once in the chair "because I wanted gel polish" it will cost $35" (At this point I agreed bc I'm not going to get out of the chair with my feet soaking...) They switched nail techs and the man who did my toes cut them super short after I had just cut them without asking. Again, saved them polish but I cant believe I had to pay for a 1/4 inch of applied color!! He takes my card to charge the $50 for the chintzy nail job and asks what to tip. I said 15 and was handed a reciept to sign with a $70 charge on it, which I later saw bc his finger covered the amount when signing. Now I understand everyone is struggling during this pandemic but I feel completely taken advantage of when 7 days later, my gel polish is peeling off of my nails and chipping!! I am struggling as well, and was given this crappy experience as a gift from my boyfriend. First time here and came in for a 1:30 appointment for a simple acrylic manicure. Was over an hour before Jenny began to even paint my nails. She walked away multiple times and even went out to her car for seemingly no reason, and in addition was hurting my nails. This appointment took an hour and forty five minutes, OBVIOUSLY ridiculous.
