I LOVE the foot and leg massage and the end product of nice, soft and as beautiful toes as my chonky legs and feet will show off. Continuing my journey to find the best nail salon todays pick was Diamond Nail. The service was pretty fast for both of us. We both did gel pedis in under an hour and a half. If you're the type to get solid nails, plain and simple then you might like Diamond nails. However, if you're like me and like to have a little design going on i'd move on. The color was darker than I was hoping to find but still a gorgeous shade of brown. The design was uneven and messy. It was a fairly simple design to test the waters. It did not pass. I would give it a 2.5 but since can't rate by halves I'll go with 2. Since 3 would be a bit high. Upon entrance, there was no one to greet yet alone no one in the store. I said hello hello yet was not greeted by no one for about 3 minutes. Pretty awkward that the door was unlocked & lights off. A ghost town. Then a lady came downstairs to greet me and said her workers had gone off to do a quick errand??? Uhmm okay. I was able to sit on a massage chair in the meantime while the lady went back upstairs. Not very professional. Waited for another 5 mins until the nail technician showed up. PROS - I had Tamry - Sweet & funny lady. She made sure I was comfortable and played soothing music. My $30 pedicure was well worth it! She was great messaging, trimming, etc. I'll def do that again. CONS - My gel manicure was a 6/10. I've had better paint jobs. She sprayed what it might be a clear bottle of alcohol spray on my fingernails quite often. Never seen that technique before. She often would go over with a tiny paint brush to wipe off the excess paint that overlapped. What was really annoying was the phone kept ringing and she would have to stop in between to answer. Like really is there no one else to answer the phone?! I would think with the waiting in the beginning, there would've been some kinda discount but nope. Total was $65 and tax was $68. The banner above the entrance reads : mani and pedi $39 ! -Unfortunately, I'm was SO upset I forgot to take a photo of it when I left - it's probably still up as it's apparently an OLD sign that they keep up ?!?!? - So you can imagine how shocked I was when my bill came came to $70 !!!!! $39 and $15 extra for gel polish- in what mathematical universe does that equal $70? Yes, I brought it to the manicurist attention. yes she had a person from upstairs (who spoke better English) explain the sign is old . Yes, I raised the issue of false advertising and yes , after a few words back and forth a new total of $50 was agreed upon! The gel polish came off within 1 week . I visited this place twice and both were such a great service and experience. Everyone was so friendly, it had that make yourself at home kind of vibe. The first time was for Christmas get together with my sisters and cousins, my nails done by Cindi and Julie they were both so friendly they made conversation with me, which other nail salon won't, they would just talk to their co-workers. Our second get together with just my sister's was a day before valentines it was also my 6 years anniversary , I'm not sure was I chose black I showed Cindi a picture from pinterest and she literally got it . Some downfall is that they don't have that much workers it's good if you have 3 or less people with you, if more than that you'll have to wait for the others to finish, but it's worth the wait! read more

I really wanted to love this place. Cindy couldn't be sweeter! She has a kind and generous soul and my nails were always very pretty. I have acrylics over my natural nails went to Cindy for a fills every three weeks with gel polish in a color I generally provided myself. Unfortunately, after several visits, the acrylic nails were not staying on between manicures. Then they were lasting less than two! Cindy would always repair the lifting nails, but driving from West Maui to Wailuku was a nuisance. Finally, with a three week vacation approaching, and with three nails loose only ten days after a fill, I was forced to make a change. Since we had moved to warm, humid Maui only eight month previously, I first called my manicurist on the Mainland to be sure I wasn't causing the problem. She reassured me, and on the advice of a friend, I sadly made a change from Diamond Nails. It turned out to be a matter of needing more thorough "priming". "Lani" (in Lahaina) removed every old acrylic, primed each nail, and started over. Then, the day before we left on our trip, she did a new fill and polish. We were gone for three active weeks of sightseeing, hiking, swimming and scuba diving and I returned with every nail in perfect shape ....and still attached like iron! Acrylics CAN stand up to wear and tear and even water sports. No need to be continually apologizing because they come loose. They shouldn't and needn't! Cindy is a sweetheart! I hope she sees this and changes her priming methods....she does a beautiful job shaping and polishing, and... I'll bet that new baby is the most beautiful and absolutely amazing child ever! read more

Diamond Nail Salon has very friendly staff which I really liked. The parking can be a bit confusing though, just a heads up. I went in with my friend and I got a manicure/pedicure. I showed the nail tech a picture of the color I wanted but she couldn't find it. She didn't really listen to me and she showed so many options that I just gave up. Instead, I got a completely different color than I wanted but it still looks nice. Kim did my pedicure and she was extremely nice. She was also gentle with my legs. Anyways.. asked the girls at the hospital I'm working at about a good shop, they all mentioned this place. Everyone was super nice! Great polish selection. I paid $150 for my friend pedicure and acrylic manicure, I've never spent more than $40 on a pedicure. And her nails chipped just 2 days later. I appreciate they were really nice to fix it 4 days later but as for me they put no top coat to protect my gems or my flower from getting ruined and it's only been a week and my nails are lifting. Boyyyyy I've never been serviced so well before considering I wasn't even the one getting their nails done. The workers were so friendly and welcoming. I've been to this place 3 times now and this time I had a bad experience. I asked for the #2 pedi treatment and never received my foot massage or the callus treatment. The girl who did it tried to tell me that because I had jeans in and pushed them up to my knees I didn't feel the massage??? I kept waiting for my massage which never came and she tried to tell me she gave me the full service? If I was new to pedi's maybe she could have gotten away with that excuse....but I do fills and pedi's every 3 weeks and I am fully aware of what you get with the different services. read more
