I came here to get my lashes done. My first time ever coming to this place. It was highly recommended. I called the day before to make an appointment and to ask questions. Got an appointment the very next day. Came in and was greeted and sat down. Of course they were speaking in Vietnamese so I wasn't sure what they were talking about. They took me into the back room. So I was telling her about my lashes and how I want them done. This lady I'm not sure if she is even certified to do lashes but the first hair she put on it was already poking my skin. The next one was same thing. Every hair she put on, it was painful. At one point I even had to ask her why it was hurting so bad. And again, I'm not sure if she understood what I was saying. I'm not sure if she could tell I was hurting. The whole time she was doing my lashes, it was painful. I said ouch each time she put on lashes. I wanted her to stop half way but I gave it a try anyway. An hour and a half later she was finally done. I liked the outcome. As I was telling her that something was poking me eyes and that some hair were stuck together. She just brushed it off and tried to convince me it was fine. I insisted that something wasn't right and that it was uncomfortable. So she did what she thought could help. So I went home and inspected the lashes she put on. When I close my eyes, the hair was poking me. It was painful even when I blink. I brushed it with the spoolie hoping that the hair wouldn't stick together. Then that night I just couldn't sleep. The lashes was itchy and was poking my eyes. I didn't know what to do at that point. It was painful all over my eyes. And I also noticed that my left eyelid was starting to swell. The very next day, I couldn't wait for them to open. So I went in to try and get it removed. The lady was outside, greeted me and asked what I needed to get done. I explained to her about the lashes. She had me wait for about 5mins while she finished up with the other customer. She took me in the back room and I explained to her further. I pointed out that both my eyes was already red and left eyes was swollen. She tried removing some hairs hoping it wouldn't poke my eyes. No matter what she did, the lashes was still poking my eyes and still so painful to blink. I insisted to get them removed because I just couldn't take the pain anymore. So she applied the remover, waited about 10mins for it to work. She came back in the room, she tried removing it but again I was hurting. Poking and tugging my real lashes. At this point I just couldn't hold the pain anymore. I was saying "ouch" the whole time. I cried while she was pulling the hairs out. Every move she did hurt my eyes. It took her awhile to remove the hair. She said "I'm sorry" just once throughout the entire time. And told me to just let it so she can remove them. I was hurting, I was crying and squeezing my hands together just so I can stop myself from moving. Two hair and some glue left on my eyelashes that she couldn't remove. When she was done I explained to her that I've been getting my eyelashes done since 2017 and this is the first time I've had this experience. Putting on eyelash extensions shouldn't hurt this bad. She just suggested that wherever I used to get my eyelashes done, I should just stick with it. And she said she'll give me $50 back. I paid $85 for this unworthy service. She handed me the money then I walked away. She didn't even apologize for the bad service I received. I am left with swollen and red eyelids and two hair and some glue still intact. Even my real lashes came off. This is the first and only time I will visit this place. Nothing but bad experience. Did not apologize for the bad service. The lady that did my eyelashes wasn't even certified. I am so disgusted by this place. read more

So I've only had my nails professionally done at about five different places in the U.S. - 3 outside of Hawaii and mostly for special occasions. I'm really not a high maintenance person, nor can I afford the regular upkeep to sparkle and shine. I used to do my nails a lot by myself, but that was when I had more free time. Now, I average about once a year going to the nail salon and don't even do anything with my hair. In any case, when I do finally get my once a year treat, I want it to be worth it. I have been going to this particular salon for years. Back when it was Van's, it was usually a good experience - no complaints. Then it turned into Star Nails where one of the workers massaged my hands so roughly she left a bruise. Now it's A Century Nail Salon, and I can only give it three stars for the following reasons: 1) Upon entering the place, I wanted to pick my polish out like I always have for years and was promptly told by the staff to sit down and was made to pick out a color from a book. I was not told if it was gel or regular (I've never done anything special before as I was worried it would damage my natural nails). When the girl picked the polish out, I had to ask several times if it was gel or regular and she just started painting. She then told me it was gel and very pushy about it being better than the regular polish, regardless of my wishes to not use the product. At that point, I was like whatever. So I gave it a shot. I ended up paying quite a bit more as it was gel. 2) Aside from the pushiness and total disregard for my wishes, I can only give a generous 3 stars as the girl doing my nails trimmed the sides of my cuticles to the quick so that one of them became exposed and even bled a little. I thought I was imagining things at first, but after reading it happen to someone else too, I realized she had in fact used acetone on my exposed cuticle to stop the bleeding. Of course it burned, adding additional pain. The only reason I wouldn't give the place 2 stars is I didn't get infected. 3) Finally, the shaping, painting, and gel polish itself all were done well and lasted much longer than the regular polish as promised, but the gel has indeed weakened my natural nails and caused some splitting/wearing down of the layers. Would I get gel again? No. Will I go to a salon that respects my wishes, has gentler workers, and is more ethical in their practices? Yes. Overall, the experience just left me dissatisfied. Unless they can follow my wishes and not hurt me again, I have no desire to go back. The gel was nice while it lasted and the free Vietnamese coffee was a nice touch, but not worth a return anytime soon. Too many cons, not enough pros. read more

I don't think I'll be back. I don't like to be treated the way I was treated. On this particular day we walked in asked for a pedicure for 2 of us. Okay wait a minute choose your color. Okay no problem. We did and soon after there was 4 chairs open they sat us in the middle. Our feet went in and the water was perfect. I saw Linda she's my favorite there so I gave her a high five because she was going to take care of my toes. I was so happy the last time she did my toes. Well well here's where it gets messed up. The owner Amy came up to me and asked if it's only us 2 or if I have 4 of us. I looked at my mom I looked at her and I said it's just us. It always been us 2 when we walk in. Never more. So she said I can't take you right now I have an appt. coming in. Are you with the appt?. I said NO. I was like WTH are you serious. Now everyone in the place is looking at me like what's wrong. As my feet is already soaking in the water, our color is chosen and I gotta leave. Because you sat me down and I gotta come back later. Nope I don't think so. Don't do that to me. Make me look wrong. Hey I understand you had an appointment. But don't make it my fault. You shouldn't have put us in the chair. I have 2 stars because Linda is awesome. But won't be returning anytime soon. read more

August 24,2023 - Thursday Came to this location because I was referred by a friend since she informed me this spot had great service + prices weren't too bad. I called ahead of time and asked how long is the wait if I'm walking in since all I needed was to remove my acrylic. Lady on the line told me there isn't a wait right now and removal is $10. BET! I told her ok I'm on my way should be there within less than 5-mins. Parking - had lots of opening and space Soon as I walked into the shop - it was HOTno AC was on, door wasn't open. But I'm thinking ok the lady said should be quick since no one was waiting. I looked around - they only had 3 workers ; 2 people getting pedicures & 3 others doing nails + 1 lady waiting to be service. I'm already under the impression ok I mean I've been to shops were they start on others if it's just something simple, so maybe they'll take me. Nobody really acknowledged that I walked into the shop, I didn't get to sign in, I stood at the door waiting for someone to notice me & finally a lady said ok please have a seat we'll be with you. Didn't really ask what service I needed. So I sat down, waited and waited, seen one of the workers cash out her client, thought it was weird the employee only wore a sports bra but then I'm thinking omg was it this hot all day. I had Danny who did the whole pedicure and then somebody came to finish painting my nails as he started closing and cleaning the shop (I was there past closing). Do not waste your time or money! This place is horrible. Nails were crooked and you could see my real nails on the sides uncovered. My nails were black from my hair dye and she didn't cut them or push cuticles back. When I asked her to fix them I was given the reason my nails fingers were the problem she never fixed I was so irritated I paid and left. UPDATE! as of November 2019 they've renovated and it's better than ever!!! New chairs, decor, and set up but same great service!!! This place is fantastic! They really take care of you when you are in there. They give you a beverage when you come in and are very sure to make you feel comfortable and have everything set up just right. I was beyond satisfied with the pedicure I got and did not feel rushed. They did a great job of explaining as well as asking if we were comfortable throughout the experience. Their pricing is really fair and yet their quality is greOne of the men even walked out with us with an umbrella since it was raining and escorted us to our car... So wonderful! I have come to Amy for years... I have always called her cell direct to book. She has become soo busy taking too much clients instead of paying attention to each individual and giving them the goal of being pampered. She doesn't do her long term clients from start to finish and passes you off to someone who cannot even do you properly. When removing my nails she literally tore it off instead of filing and removing with Acetone which hurt. When grinding down my nails the grinder heat up so badly it feels like it is still burning. She has become very rough in filing over time. I came in today and have already been here since 2:00pm (it's 2:46) now. The only thing done is my fingers dipped no polish on my toes. And I originally wanted and selected gel. When the girl asked what color for my toes I asked to have my hands finished so I knew what color to match it with because everyone knows when adding clear gel is when you will see the real color. I was given powder dip. Then when the color did not turn out alright I was told it's see thru. That cannot be true because it is dark pink and almost white in other areas. I am no longer returning to Amy and highly recommend you stay away from any salon that will sit rip your nails off and possibly ruin your nail bed. Then they had the audacity to charge 185.00 for an incomplete and half @$$ job. read more

For the amount I paid with this service . I expected higher quality. I don't think I'll be returning this salon for a manicure unless you want ripped nails, painful nail beds, rough filing and grinding. The eyebrow wax and pedicure-- I was satisfied. I'll give 2 stars My friend and I took a spontaneous nail +spa evening after dinner. Reservations were accommodated. The owner I would assume , had us sit down and pick a nail color of our choice. She started off with my eyebrows it was impressively quick, then she started my friend's nails. I was passed off to a different technician to do my pedicure. We were served beverages of our choice and I waited about 15- 30 minutes because it got a bit busy due to close to their closing hour. I thought I was spending time at the salon together- closely with my friend ! GUESS NOT! I wanted a plain french tip toenails , and then glitter was added, which I really didn't ask in the first place, but I didn't mind it at all - good work. The owner came over to my chair and decides to do my nails on top of a pillow than a flat surface/table. I asked for the length to be shorter than this but she said that's the only shortest it can be. I usually tolerate pain, but it got to the point where my nail beds were sensitive and kept being pinched , pressed against the extension! Nails were filled and buffed roughly to the point my actual thumb nail was chipped! I left the salon all bothered and irritated with the overpriced service. I just couldn't handle the pain any longer afterwards and got it removed professionally the following day! read more

Wow! I'm super impressed with the face lift this place got. As you can see from my pictures, they took the time to offer a great detailed menu. I chose a fruit infused water as my complimentary drink and it was totally refreshing. I've been there before and it's hot in there and they just open the door but this time they had the ac running and it was nice and cool. I went here this past weekend and made an appointment through their website. When I got there it seemed like they didn't even know about my appointment as they asked me what I was looking for and even though I mentioned having an appointment they didn't really acknowledge. I told her that I was looking to remove my acrylic and do a gel full set. We sit down and then she asked my I didn't want to just fix my current acrylic set. I told her that a lot of them were lifting and I didn't feel like the previous salon did a good job. She said that she would just fix it so I ended up keeping my acrylic on. She seemed to be really rushed and actually cut me and didn't even really apologize that she did so. The only thing I can really commend is she did an awesome job on the design that I wanted, though I did have to mention to fully paint the sides of my nails because she initially only painted the acrylic part and left huge gaps on the side. I feel like she would have gotten 4 or 5 stars if she would have slowed down and took her time. ( I was in and out in less than 45 minutes) Not really sure why they have an option to book online if they don't really stick to it and rush through the experience anyway. Also not sure why she didn't want to make more money since I was willing to pay for the removal and a full set. Now of course 4 days later the sides of some of the acrylic is starting to lift. I guess I will continue to be on the search for a good nail tech. read more
