The subcontractors Roman and Diana were excellent--they did a great job with communication, the fence looks fantastic and specific things I had asked for were incorporated (I wanted the rails to be a certain distance from the top, etc). On top of everything, their quote was substantially less than other contractors in the area and they had good ratings on the Better Business Bureau. He suggested adding copper on the top of the fence which looks fantastic and will make it less susceptible to weather. Want to add that I already had the posts installed and he was able to work with them. He suggested I paint the metal brackets a matte black, which will make the fence look even better. I have no complaints about the fence. They finished everything in one day. With that said, I am deducting a star because the crew tripped my breaker box. They plugged in a battery (Milwaukee? It was red. See photo) to the outlet I had a licensed contractor install to a recent closet extension in my backyard. I'm not sure how they even found that outlet as it's not close to the shared fence and is hidden by the A/C unit. I'm also not sure why they were that deep in my backyard when they were just supposed to be working on installing the new fence. If they had simply asked for permission to plug in the battery, this wouldn't have been an issue. I saw the battery charging as I was checking on the progress of the fence throughout the morning and thought nothing of it. It wasn't until that evening where I noticed that all the outlets in the back room didn't work that I started questioning the reason for the outage. After racking my brain and attempting to reset the breaker box, it dawned on me that it was because one of the workers was charging their battery. I don't know the voltage of the battery that they were charging, but it was too much for that outlet. They should've just used an outlet from my neighbor.

We knew they would need to break part of our sidewalk to complete the installation, and we were told it would be repaired professionally. Instead, the concrete was left rough, uneven, and unfinished. The worker didn't even bring a concrete float to smooth the surface, leaving it as a permanent eyesore. Even more concerning, one of the new fence posts isn't actually set into the ground. They appear to have relied on a single post for structural support while the other serves only as a cosmetic piece. That is unacceptable workmanship for a professional fencing contractor. Another newly installed fence post was left with a large mound of exposed concrete around the base. No form was used to create a clean, finished appearance. It looks incomplete and unprofessional. The most frustrating part is what happened afterward. I made numerous phone calls, sent multiple text messages, and provided several photos documenting the issues. Despite all of that, no one returned to correct the work. There was no meaningful follow-up and no effort to stand behind their workmanship. We hired a professional company expecting professional results. Instead, the quality of the work was so poor that we likely would have been better off hiring a handyman for a fraction of the cost. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Meza's Fence. I suggest looking at other companies that take pride in their work and stand behind the services they provide.
