Makeup recommendation: The makeup artist they recommended (Abbie) was good, provided us polished makeup, and she was attentive and responsible with touch-ups. Major Cons 1. Big attitude shift after we signed. Before we signed, communication was quick and friendly. After signing, there was a period when they became extremely difficult to reach. I understand wedding season is busy, but going 1-2 weeks with no response is not acceptable. It made us feel like our wedding simply wasn't important to them. 2. Rude, harsh tone on the wedding day. Right before the ceremony started, the coordinator (CJ) sharply asked me, my husband, and my dad: "You didn't practice the handoff?" That kind of accusatory, sarcastic comment is the last thing a couple needs moments before walking down the aisle. It's the coordinator's job to guide the process, not blame the family. It immediately put us in a bad mood. 3. Dismissive of the bride's requests. I wanted the family members to walk down the aisle, and I had already discussed it with the band. CJ responded with an unpleasant, challenging tone--"They're walking too?" To avoid conflict and protect my mood, I gave in and said only the groom would walk. That also meant we lost the moment we planned with Canon, a piece I really love. I'm still sad about that. 4. Poor vendor coordination. Even something as basic as the cake delivery became something I had to worry about myself. If there was an issue, it should have been communicated ahead of time, not brought up last-minute on the wedding day. 5. Weak handling of time changes / emergencies. We were delayed by a little over ten minutes due to circumstances outside our control. Even with that, we still should have had a short pre-ceremony photo window to breathe, listen to the music, take photos, and settle our nerves. Instead, because the coordinator didn't clarify details with the band in advance, they immediately rushed everything when we arrived. Many songs I carefully chose were never heard. The priority felt like "finish the schedule," not "help the couple enjoy their wedding." 6. Package items not delivered. There should be musicians playing/singing a few songs during post-ceremony photo time to keep the atmosphere lively. That never happened. 7. Edited photos delivered very late, and then they stopped responding. After the wedding, I had to ask twice just to receive the retouched photos, and they looked rushed and rough, like they were done quickly before sent out. We then requested re-edits. At first there were replies (though I still had to keep following up). But after the last round of feedback, more than two months passed and I still never received the updated photos. I sent multiple follow-up emails and got no response. Minor Cons 1. Inconsistent pricing and a depends on mood feel. Small add-on services kept changing price, sometimes the same service was quoted at $100, other times $40. That lack of consistency felt unprofessional. 2. Limited vendor recommendations. I ended up finding most vendors myself. The florist they recommended was also significantly more expensive, over 60% higher than the florist I found. Overall If I had to score it out of 100: * Coordination: 50/100 * Photography: 80/100 * Photo editing/delivery: 50/100 The biggest issue is that the planner/coordinator and photographer they provided were the same person, and unfortunately neither role was handled well. I wouldn't recommend this setup. For future couples: it's much better to hire different specialists rather than one person trying to cover multiple vendor roles.

They were super receptive when we said we wanted to also have a friend officiate the second part of the wedding (vows and the pronouncement of man and wife). I especially love that she let us have a few private moments to just enjoy the sunset after taking all our photos...it was beautiful and special. Eric was not only the office contact, but he was our on-site coordinator, which was a nice surprise to meet him in person. He was great at wrangling all 29 of us together and guiding us to the ceremony site. He was awesome at keeping me informed of what to expect for every step of the way....before and after. I especially was appreciative of him reminding us about the marriage license....I filled out the application, but I almost forgot to schedule an appointment! The ceremony site itself exceeded my expectations....majestic Diamond Head in the background! So beautiful!! The ceremony officiant, Lindsay, was sweet and patient with us. We paid a $200 deposit online via PayPal to hold our date then paid the remaining balance a few weeks before our wedding date at their home. This gave us time to apply for our wedding license at the Department of Health DOH (about $13) downtown. Coco gave us guidance on the best times to go to the DOH to avoid long lines as we talked story on his porch. On our wedding day, everything was done for us and we just had to show up. We were married on Makapu'u. Coco played Over the Rainbow and the Hawaiian Wedding Song for us as he sang with his Ukulele. Our photographer, Dave was exceptional. We loved the way Coco officiated our wedding and our vows. His humor and his many Hawaiian blessings made it a beautiful wedding morning to remember. What I liked the most was their bundles- for reference my husband and I purchased the diamond package which came with both photography and videography. We also purchased their love story video, which is a 5 minute video to tell the story of how we met, and where we are today with wedding planning. The love story video experience was awesome. It was my and my husband's first time being in front of a videographer, but Rob made us feel so relaxed. We ended up doing two different shoots because I felt the first shoot didn't match the overall vibe of the wedding (which was on US not Dream FX Media), I also felt that I wanted to prioritize different angles (since I'm a bit self conscious) and have the video be shorter (originally the first video was about 8ish minutes long). And yes, this sounds like a lot of requests, because it was. And I knew that, yet Nicole and Rob didn't make us feel that way at all. They were so accommodating, understanding, and never made me feel bad for wanting to reshoot it. The second shoot, was literally perfect. It captured the vibe we wanted (elegant and romantic), and was the perfect length (5 minutes long). They were also open to editing certain parts of the video based on my requests which made the whole process so easy for us. Nicole and Rob truly made us feel like they cared about us and how we felt about the final product. During our wedding, we were so happy with their team. They were all kind and friendly. Nicole even helped me when I had a dress incident which is totally not part of their job description! But that's the type of people they are- willing to go above and beyond for their clients. We truly could not have been happier with Dream FX Media. They also sent us our sneak peek photos literally the day after the wedding, and sent us our highlight/instagram videos AND 600+ edited photos within one month! When I chatgpt'd how long it would take, it said on average 3-6 months. When I tell you Dream FX Media was working overtime, they were (sorry Nicole and Rob). But the videos came out BEAUTIFUL. And the photos were magical. I can't explain it, but both the highlight video and photos just brought me back to the day of my wedding and ALL of the feelings I felt. They captured the entire day- getting ready, our private vows, pre-photos with my family and bridal party, the ceremony, the reception- I mean everything, and looking at it all truly took me back to every moment. It was SOOO worth it. Yes, photography and videography can be pricey, but Dream FX Media are literal artists. Our photographer, Tristan recommended an amazing spot near where we were staying. Communication was very easy. He contacted us before our shoot to make sure we knew where to go and where to meet. Everything was scheduled perfectly and he was prompt for our session. During our shoot, Tristan meticulously posed us to get the best view of both the scenery and us. Even with some other photographers and couples in the area, we were able to shoot across 8 or so areas. It was a whirlwind of photos with action shots and posing, the hour went by so fast. We couldn't believe the photos in the end. The edits and raws were incredible. The beach shots looked like we were totally alone despite all the other people around. We picked the "moments" package which gave us well over a hundred shots. We haven't gotten the physical photo album but I'm sure it's going to be great.
