This small business is so cute inside. They always have a nice spread of different flavored cupcakes and they also offer hot coffee. This customer service is great, everyone I've met there is wonderful. They're currently offering some Holiday themed cupcakes such as chocolate peppermint, egg nog, gingerbread, and rum toffee. Their teal and gold packaging is adorable. And lastly the cupcakes are always moist with flavorful icing. I would definitely recommend this place if you're near the Downtown Decatur area. read more

My teenage daughter told me that I needed to try these cupcakes. So glad I listened to her! The storefront is adorable- as well as the women who run it! Bonus--they had amazing music on- Stevie Wonder; because who wants to listen to elevator music while they're choosing a delectable treat? They had several different flavors to choose from. The cupcake lady informed me that she offers different flavors on the weekly. The packaging was impressive- my neighbors delighted at that, aesthetics aren't really my thing though. I visited this cupcake shop one afternoon after spending a few hours at Three Taverns. The Owner/Baker was incredibly kind and and welcoming. She has a few staple flavors that she prepares fresh every day (vanilla, double chocolate, strawberry, etc) as well as several unique rotating flavors. She makes everything homemade daily, including the candy chocolates that top certain cupcakes, salted caramel, and German chocolate coconut icing. These cupcakes are generous in size and very moist. We tried the Cookies and Creme, Vanilla, double chocolate, key lime, peanut butter, and German chocolate. You can purchase cupcakes in any denomination (singles to a dozen). All are delicious. I highly recommend this local shop! Stop by and visit this local baker, she puts so much pride into her cakes! read more

Our dear friends introduced us to Diamond Dust cupcakes when they bought a dozen of them for us to share at my birthday party. Holy Cow! I can honestly say, I think these are the best cupcakes I have ever had. These incredible concoctions are the perfect texture and just the right sweet level. The selection of cupcakes is spot on, and the combinations are heavenly. I couldn't tell you which one is my favorite (neither could my husband, and I asked) because every one is magical in its own way. So far, it's probably a tie between the strawberry shortcake and the caramel. But don't hold me to that, because the next time I might tell you something different. My husband is not a big sweet eater, but he can't stop talking about these cupcakes. He's not a huge dessert fan because he thinks they're usually too rich, but he says the frosting is the perfect sweetness to complement the cake and that they're definitely not too rich. The lovely man who put together our beautiful boxes could not have been more welcoming, and kind (and he had a great sense of humor, which always goes a long way with me). This place is amazing. It's adorable, everything from the inside decor to the cupcake displays. And the cupcakes are amazing. I'm pretty picky about cupcakes, and these are just right. Cake is moist and not overly sweet. Frosting perfectly sweet and just the right amount. They have your normal chocolate and white cake (which they call diamond dust) and also more exotic flavors like creme brûlée. My husband was a big fan of the carrot cake, and I loved the strawberry. We live in the neighborhood and have been waiting for this new location of Diamond Dust to open for months and months. We have two young kids so naturally we knew we would be coming. We went for the grand opening today and I must say, it was delightful and the cupcakes are seriously decadent. We got the chocolate, salted caramel and key lime. Each was unique: the key lime had meringue-like whipped icing, not at all too sweet, and the cake with rich with lime zest inside. The chocolate tasted like a flour-less chocolate cake--super moist with dark chocolate notes. The salted caramel might have been our favorite, with an equally rich, salty-sweet cake, whipped meringue-like whipped cream and caramel drizzle. I knew my kids would like it, but I think my husband and I loved it so much we would come back without the kids as well. Owner was so lovely and offered my kids a choice of sprinkles to add to their cupcakes. Highly recommend and can't wait to return. read more
