When on the hunt to find a cake shop by our Airbnb, we found Cakes by keon! Upon walking in, the staff was super friendly welcoming me in and asking if i've visited before. Even though I already knew what I wanted to order, the lady still explained what they offer which brought me to purchase another item I wanted to try. I was on a mission to pick up 4 packs of banana pudding cupcakes which come in packs of 3 for $6 each; such a steal! They had so many other flavors too, cupcakes with Casamigos in it, strawberry shortcake slices, juices with or without alcohol. I decided to try out a juice called Sex on Candler Road which had one shot of vodka in it. The lady said if the juices have a star marked on the top then it has two shots in it. I should've gotten the two shots but it's okay, I know for next time i'm in the area. The juice was refreshing I would try their other flavors for sure. The banana pudding cupcakes were a HIT with my friends. The cupcakes were in the fridge for one day before trying them and they still tasted fresh out of the oven. OMG! My girlfriend just gifted me a peach cobbler from Cakes by Keon. I tried to behave and only sample it before dinner. Crust was so flaky and crisp, peaches were perfectly seasoned. Not too sweet, not even any juice...I believe we got the last bit of the pan. It didn't even matter because that cobbler was slamming and I couldn't help myself. It's all gone and now I can't wait to go back to get some dessert for Mother's Day!! read more

The cake slices are fresh and delicious when ever I visit.This is the new location. Walk,run, catch a bus or a Uber if you don't have a car. Ask your friend to take you there or mom and them. Food Stamps are accepted EBT somebody got some stamps for the groceries! Some of the best cakes on the east side make a trip for yourself and see. D@mn! I was on my last piece of keyline cake and what do you know a long piece of hair comes sliding out of the cake with my last bite. Omg so so disappointing. The cake was good and moist tho. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10. For the price I just expected better. I'd support tho. I always give businesses one more fair chance before I exclude them altogether. I was on this side of town so I decided to pop in and taste some treats. I had saw a few posts from this business on IG and everything looked good! This location is in a plaza with free ample parking. At first glance, you might get confused as you have to walk through an open gate to enter the storefront. There's a sign, actually two signs posted with only 3 customers at a time! I'm assuming because of the area.. maybe that's why the rule is made. The store is big enough to hold at least 10 people at a time. Nonetheless, I was the only one entering so that didn't concern me lol. As I entered, I noticed 3-4 coolers. One had eggs and milk so I'm not sure if they sell those items or it was for the bakery storage. I wasn't there for eggs or milk so I moved on to the other cooler. They do sell adult beverages like homemade punch with alcohol, etc. The cooler with the cake slices has an assortment. I noticed that the slices had been frozen. I still picked up a Key Lime slice for purchase. As I am going to the counter, I notice there's no price list posted. I don't like that. I think all businesses should have a clear and detailed posting of prices and what you sell. They had cupcakes on the counter with each container containing 3 small cupcakes. There was a bluish cookie cake with cheesecake that looked good! I asked how much it was and she said $10! I put it back promptly lol. $10 for a regular slice of cake is not for me lol. Well guess I should have asked how much the strawberry crumb cupcakes were before purchase. When she said $19 for my 2 items! I looked at the receipt and saw these 3 small cupcakes were $12! Nonetheless, I paid and left. I couldn't wait to try these delights. But I had about a 40 minute drive home. So by the time, I got home the cake has defrosted somewhat. First bite of the strawberry crumble cupcake was just meh! They definitely looked better than they tasted. They were not moist, not Sahara desert dry but dry nonetheless. The frosting was underwhelming! I gave the other 2 to my family. We unanimously agreed that these weren't giving us what it looked like it was supposed to give.... Unfortunately! The key lime cake was a little better. Maybe a C+. It was more moist then dry but not as moist as cake should be. The icing was just okay as well. The cake slice was $7 which is average. I'm more disappointed in the $12 small cupcakes that were worse than store brought. Customer service was good, unfortunately the items I brought were disappointing. read more

My mom brought me one of their crown royal apple infused cupcakes a few days prior to me going to their storefront and it was really good. I follow them on Instagram and when they posted the casamigos cupcakes, I knew I had to stop in! I arrived early on a Saturday afternoon. They had several individual servings of cupcakes and cakes on the counter. They do whole cakes as well and the pictures look awesome. I ordered the casamigo cupcakes and an "adult" beverage called sex on Candler road. Now if you know Candler road like I know Candler road, you probably don't want to be engaging in those types of activities on that particular road, lol. It can be a bit rough to say the least. The cupcakes were SO good!!!! They came with 3 small cakes. The cake is infused with casamigos, topped with the most delicious frosting and comes with a small tube of liquor on top. So i heard about this place and wanted to give them a try. Hmmm was not impress. The cupcakes were extremely small (3) for 7 dollar, just right if given to a toddler. The cupcake itself was moist and the lemon icing tasted like the grocery store icing ( my daughter said it didn't). So of the cake slices did not look appealing like they were just thrown in the containers. They also had drinks with alcohol with truly surprised me ( didn't get one since i was driving). So I decided, to try this bakery out today, to see what the hype was all about being that I love sweets. Customer service was excellent the "mature" lady behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I took my time pondering over which selection to purchase so, I went with the key lime and strawberry cupcakes and a slice of banana pound cake. The cupcakes were moist, but not the best or worst I ever had. They were just alright in my opinion. The icing had a nice flavor, with a drizzle of a Hennessey mixture to them. My total was $18.00. ..not really worth the drive, but if you're in the Decatur area like I was give them a try for yourself. read more

Found this bakery on Instagram and based on the rants and raves I made the decision to order a birthday cake for my husband. The reviews were so encouraging that I drove all the way from south Fulton to Decatur and it was well worth the drive. I ordered a 1/2 banana pudding 1/2 strawberry shortcake cake. Everyone talked about how delicious the cake was and no one had seen a cake quite like it. It was super moist, the icing and cake married perfectly. Both of those flavors were the perfect combination and it allowed everyone to basically have two cakes. I would highly recommend this bakery. Great customer service and each cupcake I purchased tasted fresh and delicious. Got to meet the owner Keon who was putting out freshly made cakes and cupcakes while being nice enough to explaining each cupcake flavor and the different adult only cupcakes and cakes that are infused with alcohol to me. It was my Birthday so we purchased 4 (3)pack cupcakes all different flavors which included chocolate, crown apple, strawberry, and blue velvet. I tried this place a few months ago and picked up an alcohol infused lemonade which wasn't good. The flavors were just completely off. I think that I may have enjoyed the nonalcoholic version of it. Then when it came time to pay, the lady at the front desk told me that I would have to do a split payment and the price went up to $60.
