I started calling for estimate To fix the problem. that's how I ended Up in contact with Nick from NRG. I explained to him what was going on with the gutter he said he would come and look at it. CLEARLY TOLD HIM I JUST WANTED AN ESTIMATE! That night he sent a text saying he would stop by in the morning and look at again I said for an estimate? He said yes! I Have everything on text by the way. I said well let me get back to you by Friday cause I have other companies coming out and didn't want everyone to show up at once! He tells me he can come out the next day I said I won't be available he said I didn't have to be home for him to look at it.I said ok what time. he said 8 I said ok I'll be home he shows up and says all it needs it's flashing with out even getting up in a ladder he says I can do it for $100 since I'm here. I think he quoted me $175. But he said he would do it for $100 since it was just flashing that it needed. I called my husband and he agreed to the $100. To "fix" the problem.fast forward a week later 2-2-2020 we have heavy rain the gutter is still leaking I called him asked if he can come and look at to see what going on he says to send him video so I sent him a video. He's response is it must be a leak in the roof. I said how can you if you haven't looked at. He says if I go out I'm going to have to charge you. Charge me? I hired you to fix a problem and you did. He went on to be very rude and swearing telling me to leave him alone that he was not coming to look at the gutter and stop texting him. Please. Be very careful who you hire and make sure you have a contract and everything in writing. people like this are the ones who give other reputable contractors bad names and people won't trust again. Ps: I Do have all my text from him if he tries to say I'm laying.

He replaced at least 8 extra sheets of plywood as per quote if needed. He came the next day to collect payment which was done. He also mentioned a broken garage window which his crew broke by accident that he would fix. he removed gutters as requested but didnt fill holes in wood where gutters were secured so water would not enter home. upon presenting his bill he added an amount of $1680. for a second layer of shingles he claimed were on roof. roof was replaced 20 years ago and at that time I requested from roofer to remove shingles and not install over them which was done. I have exsisting pictures showing only 1 layer of shingles was installed at that time and old shingles removed. we went on vacation and when we returned no repairs were done either to window or filling gutter nail holes. he was paid promptly before leaving on vacation. leaving me to assume that you cannot rely on his word.. I had Marc Murphy here on a Sunday to give me an estimate and I gave him a small deposit. On Tuesday, the shingles arrived and then a few day later the crew arrived as expected. Team prepped the area, stripped the roof, installed the new shingles, as well as re-leaded and replaced flashing around chimney. They did a great job cleaning up! The night they finished the job, we had a major thunderstorm and down pour all night, and all is great with the roof! Looking forward to not having to do this again for another 25-30 years :) Marc provided great customer service and was on site for most of the time. Nice to have the owner of the company around, in case there were any questions/issues (and there were no issues). Based on my positive experience, I would definitely recommend Murphy Roofing!
