I never do this. I am never "this person." But I think people deserve to know our experience.
In March we contacted Diamond Comfort to install mini-splits in our home. Before we could start the work, we suffered a house fire that derailed us entirely. Diamond Comfort was completely understanding and we contacted them about converting our electric heat system months later when we began to rebuild.
On November 1, we sent a signed contract back to DC to formally begin the work. They had been on site numerous times before and after 11/1 to measure and assess. We assumed everything was set.
On 11/29, someone from DC called our general contractor to say they hadn't received the contract. We searched through and found the sent email and re-sent it. Laurie from DC then responded to say they were offended by a comment our GC had said and no longer wanted our work. We were furious. In subsequent phone calls and emails they refused to acknowledge their error and continued to blame us. Unfortunately, emails do not lie. They had the contract. They failed to schedule us and then panicked and looked for any excuse to cancel. They have additionally gone to impressive lengths to avoid accountability. You cannot run a business if you have zero customer service skills and continue to blame customers for your error. Truly, all this company had to do was apologize and try to make it right. Laurie, the person who caused all of this, responded with "I am sorry you feel that way" to an email I sent in an outrage. That is not an apology. That is a civil way of telling someone off. Truly, I am sorry for this organization. I am sorry they are so disorganized, I am sorry they don't know how email works, I am sorry they don't know how to properly run an organization, and I am sorry that I even had to write this. They truly left us no choice. We have a hard deadline for the repairs on our home as our insurance company will not pay for our temporary housing beyond a certain date and we are now at square 1 with our HVAC work. We now have to explain to our insurance company what happened and pray they extend us in our current temporary home, but trust in that we will also be filing a complaint with the BBB. Do yourself a favor and find a different company to work with. If they don't take accountability for this error, heaven knows that else they won't take accountability for. read more
