As much as I love supporting local and family run businesses, sometimes it is better to pay more and have the resources, professionalism, and reliability that larger companies offer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DIAL SECURITY TO ANYONE -- ESPECIALLY IF YOU RELY ON THEM TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY AND HOME. (sorry for the all-caps) After having alarm monitoring services for over 5 years I had no choice but to cancel my service with Dial Security (DS). DS is a family run business, with many of the children having only mixed experience in security. I decided to finally cancel services and provided over a month of notice to Fallon Dundas (family member). At that time there was no mention of a premature termination fee. 21 days later, Blake Dundas (a family member, who graduated from high school just over 5 year ago), mailed me an unsigned invoice for an early termination fee. I explained that no signatures/initials were signed on the contract agreeing to any fees, etc., but with his lack of business experience, all he could repeat is "...my hands are tied [ted] as the contractual obligations need to be fulfilled as the contract itself as a whole is binding..." I am guessing he recited language he learned in school. Blake then threatened to forward this to their legal department (probably mommy or daddy) to pursue legal action for final payment of the disputed $357.62. Not to worry, I have a real attorney. It is my understanding that their "central station". or monitoring center is not UL (underwriters laboratories). According to UL, being UL certified is an alarm company's "declaration that the alarm system equipment, installation, maintenance and service meet, and often exceed, minimum standard requirements. Being UL listed is an industry standard for monitoring centers around the country. I can recall the alarm going off in the middle of the night awaking my entire family, believing we had a home invasion. I walked through the house knowing the safety of my family was in immediate danger and our lives were at risk. Luckily, it was just a fallen sensor from a door, which activated the alarm (more about installation further down). What is perhaps even worse, is that the company we relied on for our safety and security wasn't there when we needed them; we never received a call from DS. Had there been an actual intruder, no help would have ever come and my family could have been hurt or worse. On other occasions, DS did call, but only after 10+ minutes. I recall speaking to a representative who called after an activated alarm; she explained, "... business alarms take priority over residential..." Hence why going with a larger company makes sense. Other times when DS called after an alarm, oftentimes they didn't ask for our code word (used to indicate we are safe). Completely unacceptable and a complete disregard to my safetly. Regarding the original installation - it was a sloppy, disorganized, unprofessional mess that left the new system in an inoperable state. There were literally extra drill holes in walls/ceilings, sensors installed incorrectly, chipped paint, a sensor literally hanging off a wall by wires, and debris left at two entrances. During the installation, one technician advertised that "... this has been a, "chaotic, disorganized job from the start..." It was disconcerting to hear this directly from an employee even though this had been our impression. As you know, Scott actually walked off the job and left during the installation. John indicated Scott has a history of doing this on previous jobs. All of my complaints and issues were documented and immediately communicated to either Colby Dundas [former assistant sales manager, Melissa Dundas [sales manager], Fallon Dundas [central station supervisor, Blake Dundas [business manager], Bill Dundas [general manager] (all family members), and Bryan Buck [former operations manager]. Problems from the beginning. They left some areas unsecured and when their equipment failed at 5 am with the alarm going off they said they could not come out to make the repairs. Finally after pleading with them they sent someone and turned the alarm off, 6 hours later. When I terminated their service I got an invoice for over $2,200 to fulfill the contract. read more

Yesterday I found myself in need of emergency security protection for my home. I had already started the install process with Dial, and after a scare, Blake arranged 2 different types of cars, one stationary and one drive by. I cannot tell you how much it meant to me to have this ordered and set into place within 60 minutes. My install was easy and Griffen was amazing at explaining how to get things started. RUN!! AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! they are family run and protect their family over property and accounts. READ THEIR CONTRACT. If you let it go even one day beyond the deadline, you WILL be charged thousands of dollars to cancel. they hold to the 2 years and make no exceptions regardless of 6 years as customers with 3 different properties. Google them, the family is biased and attacked us verbally when we questioned their billing tactics. We have recordings of the family saying our contract was not up yet only to be billed 30 days later for thousands of dollars since the contract auto renewed after we told them we were moving! They are not kind and really promoted something different than what they are. They are indeed a family business, meaning whatever is in the best interest of the family, including covering up their families errors will be done at your expense. I wish they would have been less interested in the money and more on the integrity of the words of their sales reps (family). I would have written a 5-star review but don't want anyone to experience what we have! If on the rare occasion I have an issue they available over the phone usually right away and for service often its the same day. Dial Security monitors 4 systems at two different addresses and I would recommend them to anyone for home or business. Totally disappointed in Dial Security. Company lacking in ethical business practice and has not even had the courtesy to reply to a long time customer. We had service for years in side by side offices Suite A&B and canceled service in Suite B. Tech had book keeper sign that he had been there and disconnected the Suite B alarm. Eventually cancelled service entirely for Suite A when the business vacated and Dial Security refused to refund balance owed (we paid a year in advance-mistake) claiming a brand new contract had been started when disconnect of partial of Suite B occurred. The book keeper is not authorized to start new contracts and this was NOT A NEW CONTRACT. I've emailed and sent documents to Blake, Melissa, Dale, Daniel and owner Bill Dundas. Called several times and left messages for Bill Dundas to call to discuss-no call back. I copied all the evidence of their fraudulent holding of monies owed back to the company and on 2/14/22 handed all printed documents and explanation of claim for reimbursement to their technician to hand to Bill Dundas. Mr. Dundas still has not contacted me or refunded the money. It is now a YEAR since I started working on this issue. Bad business, Dial Security, please know I will continue to spread the word of your bad business dealing and cheating a customer. Karma will prevail. read more

We have been customers for over twenty years and wanted to update our hard wired system to something that was reliable and more modern looking on our wall. Melissa was terrific, she worked with us to choose the perfect model replacement for our needs. When Dial employees showed up to do the work we were extremely impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. They really were clean, efficient and very knowledgeable regarding the products. That said, if they couldn't answer a question we had, they knew who to call and get the answer right away. In this day of often weak customer service this is a five star operation of a business. Our office building has been battling after hours and through the nite tansients and vandalism. Even with great coopertation from our police it was hit and miss as to catching the offenders. Colby from Dial came on site and recommended new video technology with motion detection that is monitored 24/7 by Dial. Within 1 week police had cited four different offenders and the problem is finally being handled after 3 years of anguish. Highly reccommend them. read more
