They train representatives to lie and even to pretend that they have cancelled your contract when you call to request an end to service. They harass the customers with repeated phone calls, letters to the house, and illegitimate billing. They repeatedly put you on hold once they've figured out that you want to cancel service. Their equipment is too expensive to buy and install and needs expensive replacement and service often. Once you have bought the equipment you still are really not the owner of it because you can't use it with any other service. We are calling repeatedly to cancel now, even though we are all paid up and they keep lying to us on the phone that they have cancelled our plan even as I continue to receive daily harassing calls and bills in the mail. I cannot believe that this company is allowed to continue operating. We will now need to hire an attorney to respond to their predatory business practices. Do NOT even contemplate patronizing ADT! Now I'm talking real old. This thing still had a dial for changing channels! They fixed it up in no time flat! I think it just needed a new tube or something...I don't know the lingo! You can buy speakers, flat screen TVs, HDTVs, home lighting systems, sound systems, and even some furniture! I think this is a great example of a company that has successfully altered it's products and services to go with the changes in technology.
