Deep fried pork intestines, rawr beef salad

Honeyy have I got the place for the best bun bo hue. But there are rules on how to attain this bowl of noodZ. You must cross a bridge and be in between the hours of pre-gaming and singing your heart out. That is the way to attain these noodZ. Firstly, this restaurant?cafe? karaoke bar? Is on the westbank. Yes you have to cross the bridge to get here... but don't let that deter you. In a shopping mall at the far end on Stumpf there is di Vang. They do have their own parking lot. They have so many good eats that's so good and authentic to me. We ordered to go and got fried pork intestine with pickled veggies and also a raw beef salad. These dishes are so simple and fantastic I am just so happy I've found this place!

Late night Vietnamese eats is a rarity in New Orleans and this place is open until 5AM! There are so many options here, but I can never steer away from the bun bo hue. If you guys read any of my other reviews, that's really all I ever order at any Vietnamese restaurant. And it's definitely how I determine if I'm coming back or not. Their BBH is SO. DAMN. GOOD. You can taste every element. I love how I can taste the lemongrass in their dish because most places drown it out with all of the other flavors. It's not as spicy as I'd like it, so I always get their chili paste and it is so spicy! Just the way I like it. My nose is literally dripping as I'm eating and I wouldn't have it any other way. This is also a karaoke joint and it's pretty dark inside. Also, a bottle of Hennessy is $140!

Small neighborhood Karaoke and Vietnamese food bar. Good for late nights belting out classic Vietnamese or American songs and having drinks with your friends. They serve alcohol as well as Vietnamese food here. It's really smoky in here, so be prepared for a shower when you get home. The Bun Bo Hue is super spicy and delicious, and the Chao is really good as well.

Can the Asians bring this type of karaoke up here to Baltimore? My cousin brought me here as a last hurrah ending my mini Mardi Gras vacay. I did not think we would end up here as late as we did since we had a really early flight, we left three hours prior to our flight. Team no sleep. You have bars with karaoke nights or the Korean noraebangs but the set up here is different than what I'm usually use to. There's multiple screens lined up against the wall. You don't pay for the singing or viewing experience but you do have to at least purchase food or drinks. There isn't a book with a list of songs you can choose from rather you write down your hearts desire to sing and they will pull it up for you. What I also love is the Vietnamese food they offer here. We had the rice porridge, papaya salad, and shaken beef. I recommend coming during a week night because we had the whole place to ourselves, majority of the time. I can't comment about the weekends.

The food is amazing. The vibe is amazing. I felt like I was actually in VN. I wish I had been invited to this place earlier.

Ask the Community - Di Vang

How big is this restaurant? Can you sit a group of 20 people? Thank you!

Our business can fit up to 50 people. Yes we can sit 20 people but you will need to give us a call to reserve a table ahead of time. Thank you!

For the karaoke is it private rooms? Do they have Chinese songs?

We dont have private rooms. And we use youtube for karaoke.

Planning to come over tonight but their phone line isn't working. Anyone knows if they are open after 10pm on a Saturday night? It's a 30' ride from where I stay so just wanna make sure it's not close. Thanks

Ok, another karaoke bar on the 'wank that I think no one knows about…read more Welcome to Aloha Shores. It is another "buzzer" bar...gotta get buzzed in to enter. Makes you feel cool and exclusive at first. Though it might be to keep whats inside, inside. Its pretty typical of a very small westbank bar. Though it does have a bit more character than most, because this place has been around for a very long time. Has a few pool tables, kinda kidney shaped bar, Christmas lights, smokey and of course, some Frank Sinatra song being song by a Gretna-mafia type. Sometimes its filled with single or almost single semi divorced women. And always filled with the best men Gretna has to offer. Don't know what I mean, look up 14:42.1 & 14:43 There is a few guys here that frequent this place with them magic numbers, so I wouldn't consider it a place for single intelligent women , that is unless you are a....... Ok, I'll just stop, too negative for me :-) I wouldn't say there is any hub bub here, it is Gretna and Gretna's finest respond with the quickness, so I don't think you have anything to worry about here. A few blocks away, maybe. Sometimes there is hogshead cheese on a table or meatballs in a crockpot. Yumm. Good place to pop your head in once and grab a drink but not a great one. But if its on your bucket list, by all means check it out, probably never knew it was there all this time, unless you are a real Westbanker...like me ;-)

It was a slow night so the result was us having this quaint karaoke bar all to ourselves. And it was a blast! Karaoke DJ "Mad Hatter" is an enthusiastic guy who will bend over backwards to play any song you wish to sing. His dedication to karaoke is a thing of legend. Fast forward 4 months later, I return with a different group of friends after an enthused speech about how Aloha Shores will change their life. And it did... but not for the better. Lo and behold, Aloha Shores' patrons came out in numbers. The cigarette smoke was thick. Like, tangibly thick. I found myself genuinely worried about the pregnant barkeep who was having a colorful conversation with a man who I swear killed a pack within the first 10 minutes I was there. DJ Mad Hatter was in attendance & still delightful, but it was a lot harder getting our name into the rotation this time. The wait was longer, which I didn't mind - but after sitting idly for an hour the smoke started to get to us. After only two songs we left, our eyes bloodshot & jackets reeking like a 90s bowling alley. Closing thought: I thought I found a gem, but all I found was a dive. UPDATE: So, I went back with a large group (11) on my birthday and it was a blast. I think the trick is - and this may sound horrible - to show up drunk. I tacked another star based on the experience.

This particular Monday night we opted to eat a 5:30P dinner in a relatively quiet, open restaurant with Kaitlyn C. as our server. Sake and water for husband and soda for myself all delivered quickly. Also ordered apps at same time explaining husband was famished. Pork gyoza showed up in less than 5 min, and our spring rolls with yummy chili sauce arrived before the gyoza was gone. Husband's Beef Yaki Udon arrived in a reasonable size bowl - no overfilling with too many noodles. I thought the beef was good quality and the cabbage was just the right amount and not too strong. The Crunchy Dynamite Roll w/soy paper and Tsurai Roll (suggested by Kaitlyn when I was overwhelmed with choices) w/sriracha on the side were the last to make it to the table but worth the wait. I'm so glad we asked for a recommendation because otherwise the Tsurai would have been overlooked - and it was the bomb! Not a cheap meal ($71.30 w/tax w/o tip) but eating out generally isn't. With that said, only had a small amount of Udon leftover which means we didn't pay for any wasted food. Plan on eating in again rather than doing take out. Thanks, Kaitlyn C.!

I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately my experience fell pretty short. My clear soup…read morewasn't clear at all, it was full of soy sauce. The tuna tartare was very underwhelming--far too spicy to the point that it completely overpowered the flavor of the tuna itself. Instead of tasting fresh and balanced, it just felt like heat for the sake of heat. The rice was another letdown. I asked for stir fry, but what I got was basically fried rice, lacking that fresh, wok-fired flavor and texture you'd expect from a proper stir-fry. It didn't taste freshly prepared and felt more like a shortcut than what was advertised. My girlfriend's meal was even more disappointing than mine, which really sealed the overall experience for us. When both dishes miss the mark, it's hard to overlook. The service didn't help either. I'd give our server two stars as well--he was short, dry, and largely inattentive. We were mostly ignored throughout the meal, and he only really came back when it was time to bring the bill. Ironically, the most attention we got was when we were already leaving and our waters were finally refilled. The price point was actually good, which makes it even more frustrating that the food and service didn't live up to expectations. Overall, a disappointing visit with plenty of room for improvement.
