We stopped by for coffee and pastries and were not disappointed. Ordered almond croissaints and the goat cheese, spinach breakfast sandwich which were both delicious. There are so many other specialty food items that is offered at the store. What an awesome find!

The Burrata Experience
Gabriella W.

Stopped by to grab lunch at Alimentari, the bar located in the center of the Di Bruno Bros farmer's market style space. My sister and I shared the Caesar Salad, Burrata Experience, and the pizza option for the daily special and the sausage options. We especially enjoyed the burrata, the cherry tomatoes were perfectly ripe! The sausage pizza was okay, but not my favorite because the broccoli rabe was too bitter and charred. The pizza of the day had peaches, whipped ricotta, prosciutto, and a balsamic glaze. I felt there was a bit too much balsamic. Both pizzas were very crisp and doughy at the same time, which is a great combo. I used some of the pizza crust to dip into the remaining burrata. The caesar salad was good, but the dressing was lighter. I prefer a creamier caesar dressing. One note is that one order of pizza is two large square (more rectangular) slices. They are very generous portions that are filling! My sister and I cut each one in half to share them. This paired with the fact that I ate burrata and salad left me unable to finish both of my portions of the pizza. I was skeptical that we had ordered enough, but everything was very filling! Other aspects of this Di Bruno Bros location that you should not miss: - A great pastry selection featuring items from Isgros! Those riccotta cookies are delicious. - The local beer selection has a great variety and you can make your own four pack. - Some of the most beautiful Olive Oil bottles I've ever seen. - The cheese selection and the ability to sample cheeses before buying them! What more needs to be said about this?! They also have a small cafe with tables to sit and enjoy your coffee, or any other food items you buy in the store. This location is like taking a trip to Philly, but with way easier parking!

Like it's counterparts in Philly and elsewhere, Di Bruno Bros. is part market, part cafe, part wine store, part bakery, part bar, part take out. A lot of great options here warm dishes such as pastas, meats, chicken parm, meatballs, fish, etc. I recommend the Pasta Carmella for sharing. It's a cheesy pasta dish with a kick and really hits the spot. The deli area features delicious sandwiches, fresh cheeses, veggies, salads and more. You can pick up supplies, or sit down and have your charcuterie experience in the seating area. I love grabbing some Crostini crackers with a good cheese from the deli section, or otherwise love their sandwiches paired with a nice green salad or potato salad. The seating area is located right near a bar where you can enjoy a cocktail or mixed drink. The nearby cafe offers coffee, teas and light baked goods, in addition to those available in the store. The wine section has some unique bottles that aren't as commonly found in Chester County, but you pay a premium. For example, some labels are a good 30-50% higher than you can find elsewhere, albeit not always immediately nearby. I don't mind paying for the convenience, but going from $80 to $120 for the same bottle can be a bit much. During peak times the place can get a little crowded, with seating at a bar in premium. During off-peak, it can be very relaxing a chill. The lunch crowd begins to break the further into the afternoon you go. I find this is the best way to enjoy your visit to Di Bruno Bros. Consider stopping by for brunch, or in the mid-afternoon. Admittedly this location could probably use a little more staff training. On several occasions I've had staff slap the wrong receipt on a food item (always more expensive) and I've had to have it corrected so I didn't overpay. It can also be hard to get the attention of someone behind the counter if you require assistance. Everyone is helpful, but there's always a lingering sense of disinterest at this location compared to others. Di Bruno Bros. brings together the best aspects of Italian food and drink under one roof. I'd recommend it for just about any casual dining occasion, or if you're looking to find certain ingredients and items that aren't as common in chain grocery stores.

Adding a high profile, modern, city-like eating and shopping space does tremendous service to a strip of dated storefronts. Walk in and senses kick in, like a mini Eataly from NYC. Beautiful meats, cheeses, breads, and prepared foods line the walls. Exquisite olive oils and vinegars beckon in kiosks in the middle. Desserts and wines end the journey. A masterful variety fro grapes to wine, olives to oil. Get in and get some.

Our waitress!!

Such a great place to shop!…read more When you think farmer's market...normally you think outdoors...but this was inside. Apparently, this is a common type of shopping venue here...and it's fantastic! There were many rows of vendors here, and all were pleasant! The first thing that really hit me (walking down every aisle), was the variety of vendors. Yes, there was some overlap, but overall, it was a very wide selection of food and merchandise....my wife even bought a purse here! The second thing I noticed was the high quality meat and produce. If I lived close by, this is where I would shop. You could tell the people that worked here took pride in their food, and there was a visible difference in how their customers reacted, trusted, and relied on the vendors for recommendations. We were able to sample a bunch of items, thankfully....and everything was good...but of all the items we tried here, the pretzel dog and draft Appalachian root beer was the best! So fun to visit...will be back for sure!

They are making pretzels hot and fresh right before your eyes as you walk in!…read more They have a cheese corner with the items made in Lancaster Amish country, Pennsylvania ! I was on the hunt for something called cheese for a gift. I was able to put in an order and come back the next day and pick it up. I wonderful to have such great service and such wonderful, delicious food items. I also picked up a chunk of goat cheese with cranberries and cinnamon... Because we're expecting a snowstorm and I wanted to have a nice cheese plate. Let me tell you that cheese was absolutely delicious so flavorful and wonderful wonderful . There was a Tea booth, and I picked up some Bengal tea which is my favorite . Wonderful service. Another delightful surprise was a Greek stand that had delicious sandwiches made with falafel and baba ghanoush . I got a baba ghanoush sandwich. I also bought some. Za'atar Man'oushe bread. What a thrill how flavorful and so exceedingly delicious. I am so happy with that purchase and I wish I lived just a little bit closer to the store so I can pick up this bread at least once a week !! Soumaya and sons bakery . I am a fan. I can't wait to come back.

Literally a Mom and Pop shop! Mom is Marion, and we didn't get Pop's name, but he is super friendly…read moreas is Mom. Loads of care and love go into this food, and as Pop told us, he aims for the best ingredients he can get. They are butcher and baker here, and candlesticks are for sale up front, but makers they are not. In addition to the fine prepared foods, this is also a convenience store and deli. We tried the chicken salad, chicken marsala, and chicken pot pie. Everything was great. We were lucky enough to get the marsala freshly made, and still hot. The whole store smelled of the marsala and it was heavenly! We ate it immediately at home, and it was amazing! I was even obsessed with getting every drop of broth from it, because the flavor was so deep and good. It was $16 for 4 cutlets, two larger, two smaller. Basically 2 entree portions for $16, without sides. It's a good deal, especially when you don't feel like cooking, but don't want to go out, but yet you want something with more sophistication than burger takeout. There was so much more we wanted to try, but it will take a few visits to peruse it all. The desserts looked great, particularly the banana cream pie. I really want to sample the Mediterranean chicken next time, as well as the Shepherd's pie, and the roast beef, which Pops told us is also made fresh there. Apparently everything, including crusts, seasoning blends, etc. -- all made from scratch! Amazing! I am so happy we stopped, but sad we didn't do it sooner. So glad to have found them! * * * UPDATE 6/6/18 * * * Went back the next day to try some desserts. Got the banana cream pie and the brownies. YUM! The banana cream pie was delicious, and recommended. The brownies, were AMAZING! Totally fudge-y in a chocolate ganache way, and PACKED with chocolate, including shavings baked in. DELICIOUS! Must try!
