Paid for express overnight $152 Hawai'i to California, 4 days later the tracking shows it is still in honolulu. This company should never be trusted with time sensitive packages. Will update after I ask for my refund and my package back. Update: The package took 7 calendar days / 4business days to arrive. I filed a claim but have not heard back yet. Update 2: they took 14 days to review my claim even though the website said 10 days. They stated the claim does not meet the parameters for their money back guarantee policy. So no accountability for giving false information, no transparency on expected delivery times. They don't care how important it is to you. Had they been clear that it would take a week I would have used air cargo which is next day. What a BIG disappointment!!!!! read more

Be cautious if you are using this service. Need to be diligent with tracking. Had an international package come in. I signed up for alerts and it sent me an alert with a picture of where the package was placed on the porch once it was delivered. Only problem was that it was not my house. I rang DHL immediately and they said they would have the closest driver come back and correct the error. That did not happen at all. The person whose home it was left at, brought it to my house as it had my address on it. Thank goodness they were honest. DHL never attempted to come back and TEXT me 4 days later to see if I had ever got it. They never made an attempt at any point to come back and look for it. Unprofessional. read more

No customer service. This is a delivery company that is requiring a signature but they only deliver on weekdays. Can't tell you a time, and they only have one pickup location that closes at 5pm on weekdays and isn't open weekends. Most people work normal hours. How do I get a package if they can't leave it at the door after I sign the door slip and talk to the driver on the phone and ask them to leave it but he says he can't. Why have a door slip then? It's impossible to get ahold of them due to their robot answering machine, and limited hours. Just give a number for the local manager. All of these inconveniences can be avoided with UPS, USPS, and FedEx. read more

DHL guy tried to deliver in a high-rise apartment that has a very large prominent reception desk that handles all parcels. He completely bypassed the reception and went straight up to the apartment. And of course nobody was home so then he just took the package back and who knows when I'll get it now. I have never had this issue living in this high-rise all couriers just leave it with the front desk reception who has a secure mail room sometimes if it's a signature delivery, they might not do it, but this package in particular was not signature delivery. My daughter ordered a swimsuit from China. China! I know. Needless to say, they shipped via DHL. The first day, we missed the delivery. They called and left a message and requested she say whether she wanted the package to be redelivered or picked up at the station. She said she would be home during the specified delivery time (2-4pm) so requested redelivery. What time did they come? 500 pm. Again, they left a message. This time I said I would pick it up as their station is right near the airport. How hard could it be? OMG. I tried to read reviews before I left so that I could get a better idea of where they were. NOTHING could have prepared me for the maze and the ridiculousness of the directions next to the elevator. First, DO NOT park in the main Airport Trade Center parking fronting Starbucks. DHL won't validate (and why should they, there office isn't even on this side), and the office is SO far away from that lot. Second, when the map says "rear" of the building, they mean the west (Ewa) side. Third, the way to get to DHL is this: 1) drive down Koapaka Street until you get to the end of the building. You'll see a fence and a parking lot, then the driveway, and to the right, a ramp on the next building with a sign that says road to A ground level, D ground level, F second level, and G third level. TURN HERE. DHL will be about midway on the left, right next to the commercial fueling station. Park in the customer parking stall. Yep, one stall so far as I could tell. Once inside, the lady was so nice and very efficient, but when I remarked at how difficult it was to find them she kinda sounded like she had heard it all. Sigh. The package itself seemed to be delivered in a timely fashion - no complaints there. But seriously, don't ask for the package to be delivered to your house. Just pick it up at the station. read more

I had excellent DHL service in Germany but this DHL in Honolulu has been extremely frustrating. There doesn't seem to be any way to speak with a human. They only have automated voice and chat. The DHL website lists only the DHL 1-800 number not the number for the Honolulu site. I received an email that DHL attempted to deliver a package but I wasn't called or contacted. I received another DHL email that the package was on hold at their office then directed to go to the DHL website to schedule delivery which I did. The package wasn't delivered. I received another email the package was on hold then called the robot at the 1-800 number only to be told the package was scheduled for delivery but it wasn't. Now, after days of trying, I'll have drive to the their Honolulu site to speak with a human and, hopefully, get my package. read more

Rarely do we encounter genuine kindness, but my non profit hit a bump in the delivery of a large package from DHL, so I called. Dianne answered and I told her that we were expecting it that day and were tracking it and it said it was in the truck, but never came. She told me not to worry because they could have it out in 2 days (we were closed the next day). Ordered something from Seoul, South Korea and scheduled to be delivered on Friday, July 17th. Today is Tuesday, July 14th and I received a text message at 11:34am that my package arrived in Honolulu early. The update says package is now "With Delivery Courier" and will be delivered today by the end of the day. I waited all afternoon...no delivery yet! At 9:23pm, package shows still "With Delivery Courier" (I screenshot the tracking details). At 9:41pm, I tracked the package again (screenshot this detail too). The delivery date was changed from today back to the original delivery date Friday, July 17th. New update now says Scheduled for Delivery as Agreed...WTF!?! I didn't agree to this change? I rearranged my schedule today and waited all afternoon for DHL to deliver my package...and they didn't show up! Why text me that you will deliver my package today, but you didn't! This location was a bit tough to find but was great! Great customer service, empty and super clean. The office door is located where all of the loading docks are. I was a bit worried because I had never shipped anything via DHL and was doing a return on luxury items. I had to print a ton of copies that the merchant emailed me prior but the lady at the front was so nice and helpful. I just gave her all my prints, they inspected my package and within a week I got a confirmation from the merchant in Italy of my items along with my refund. Conveniently located near the airport, the parking and entrance is on the other side of the small shopping center. The staff is thorough in inspecting your package. They will open it up and check the contents. Afterwards they will repackage it up in their packaging. read more

Love this place more then the post office! They make tracking and picking up shipment so much easier and they are so quick to respond and resolve any concerns! I have a dog so when I get deliveries at home it can be an issue because if no one is home my dog will definitely not allow anyone near my front porch and we all know leaving the mail packages outside can risk theft but in order to keep the dog from biting my package or the courier I like to request pick ups from the DHL station and they are really quick and easy to arrange and pick up items actually it's a lot faster then waiting for it to arrive at my home. DHL has TOTALLY REDEEMED ITSELF from the fiasco of 2017, if anyone has read my prior review! Whenever I need to order anything from Asia, it seems that the sender uses either DHL or UPS. I'm always super relieved when it is the yellow DHL truck pulling in with my shipment because, unlike with UPS, the DHL delivery guys tend to be properly masked, which is a huge relief in case a signature is required and still lovely to see even if they're just setting the package down. I commend this company for having drastically improved the quality of its employees since 2017. read more

I was really concerned, going into the DHL location here and having read previous reviews, but I actually had an amazing experience for which I was super-grateful. I had a shipment coming en route from India, and despite my communication with the company that I needed it to arrive before a certain date, it was shipped much later than expected. I also know that packages coming here wind up taking a day more than the tracking website says. So when the website said my package should arrive on Tuesday the 18th, I knew it was more likely to arrive the 19th. And I was leaving for a neighbor island the 19th - and I had specifically ordered this item to take with me on that trip. Ugh. So I decided to try my luck with the local office. I thought maybe I could hold it for pickup on my way to the airport, or maybe even ask if it could be redirected (hoping hoping hoping). The gentleman who was working at the front desk that morning was SUPER HELPFUL. He looked up my tracking number, saw it was at LAX and knew when flights were expected in that it could be on, and told me it wasn't likely that it would arrive in time for me to pick it up. Before I even got the words out, he offered to redirect it to my hotel on the Big Island which was just PERFECT. It arrived there the day before I needed it, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I was expecting to have to beg and plead with unhelpful staff, given the prior reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite of my expectations. I wish I'd gotten his name. :( read more

Easy to get boxes and ship. I took some extra boxes for future shipping (this is free). This is a hidden location behind Big Kahuna Pizza (go around the small shopping center). It's hard to rate this company at this time as I haven't received my shipment. The issue is procedure isn't always clear. If i put my Bill of lading # in i get that it's moved to the next port. Not what port or how long it will take to arrive. You can't get a live person on the line and they are closed on weekends. Everything is on line these days but you still should be able to contact an agent for help. My delivery is past due and I'm sure I'll get it, it's just a matter of when. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I was buying some stuff from China and they chose DHL for shipping. I don't have any previous experience with DHL, so this first impression just killed it completely. Someone was home the whole day my package was supposed to get here. I got super excited when I checked, and apparently my package was delivered. Got home a couple hours later, nobody saw any package. Tried calling the DHL call center, whose office was already closed. Next day, they put me in touch with DHL Express (Honolulu), who told me it looks like it was delivered, but let me call you back tomorrow, because no managers are in and we can't check the GPS location of the truck. WHAT?! Mind you, this was in the morning. Since there was nothing I could do, I decided to wait it out. Lady I talked to said they would call me back the next morning. The next day, it's almost noon, so I give them a call. "Oh yeah, I was just going to call you". Riiiiiiight. But apparently the guy dropped it in my gate, probably right in front where everyone can see an easy target (live on a pretty busy street), and the GPS was just to confirm he was at my house during the time of the delivery. Apparently since they're so sure they delivered it to the right place (and we've checked with the surrounding neighbors), it could only mean that my package was stolen. Now, I have to get the company I ordered from to file a claim and they said that will take about 2 business days. 6 days (since I have to wait out the weekend) just to resolve this. It was a small package. Not at all hard to walk up to the front door. Or at least drop it behind some of my plants or something! Not right on the inside of my fence where someone can see and easily grab it. Update: After waiting for the company I ordered from to do their "research" they told me that I was the one who needed to file the claim with DHL. Funny, because that's not what DHL told me! Anyway, just before I was about to file the claim, my package suddenly appears. After the run around with them saying they were at the right address, my package suddenly turns up a week later, with no explanation on where it was this whole time. What a nightmare of a shipping company. If you messed up by sending it to the wrong house, own up to your mistake! I waited all day for this delivery, and then I get a text that the Delivery Person had contacted me...NOT. With the text showing that the message was from 20 minutes ago, I contacted the main DHL number (800) 225-5345 and explained my situation. I was told that the DHL Delivery person does not have a cellphone number, is not allowed to call package recipients, and can not deliver to my floor. The address on Paiea hasn't been used since about 1990! Current address is 3375 Koapaka St... drive up the ramp on the side of the building; you'll find 'em on top. Did you know that this enormous international brand was born in Honolulu back in 1969? Local company! I was hired at the old Paiea St location in 1989, and worked for the company for 21 years. Everyone was wonderful, a real ohana, until DeutschePost bought the company in 2000 and laid off all but a few staff NATIONWIDE, BY VIDEO. The company hasn't been the same since, but it's crawling back. DHL is the most famous courier in most other countries, sort of like UPS and Fedex here, so DHL is nearly all international. I always get shipments for remote areas and countries that a US carriers will not deliver. When I reached out to DHL, Service Agent, Ms Tiqui-Ontalan is always there to help. Emails were quick to reply to anything I sent. She ensures that she prepares the paperwork for the shipment, so that it is seamless from the time it has been process and received. I have a great contact now if I have further problems. DHL and the staff have been very helpful in getting shipment to areas that other carriers will not go. Couldn't track it and then found out it was put on hold and was waiting for a flight. Have to go thru website, live chat, and automated phone systems and still not get any help. It is 6 days later and it is now in my city so I wanted to pick it up and they said it couldn't be picked up until tomorrow, 1 week past the day it was to be delivered. Super Star costumer service. Above and beyond.. I got a voice mail that I had a package and that I could pick it up that day until 7pm. Now , I didn't have a tracking number and was not sure what the package was. I headed out to find this location. Not gonna lie location was kinda confusing I parked at that small mall lot. But had to walk all the way around. Which I thought for sure I was walking the wrong directions because all I saw was trucks, delivery trucks. The.n right before I am about to give up I see a DHL yellow van. Once I get there its 0648pm. N the office looks closed. Which is fine because they close at 5PM NOT 7PM . Which google did tell me but I figured the driver said. Anyway, not mad just glad I found it . So I'm trying to pin the location so I don't have to go all crazy trying to figure out later. This gentleman in car says hey did you need a package? Let me call someone they are still there. Now I work at costumer service so I had no problem comming back later.
