When it arrived, the burger looked like a substantial meal but it wasn't all that great. The patties were too big and overpowered the bun. Plus I suspect the patties were cooked ahead of time and just warmed up on the grill as they were really dry and barely warm on the inside. The wedges were nothing special. I think this would be a fun place to go on a Friday night for drinks and music but not for a meal.

I'm taking a crowler of the Salted Caramel Lager with me. For lunch, we ordered a bowl of Island Blue Mussels ($9.99) and a Fish Burger with Fries ($10.99) which was served to us in under 15 minutes. The PEI potatoes used for the fries have that distinct sweeter flavour than other potatoes we've had. It must be that red soil here! Several young sandboxers were seen having a great time playing in the sandbox near our table, and there were tracks of reddish sand on the floor leading to the washrooms. In comparison, the next night at Yvonne's I ordered steak medium and a) the waitress knew what I was talking about and b) it came out perfectly. The fries were good, service attentive, the side salads fresh and crispy, but what really saved the meal was the strawberry shortcake. Very nice.

I was able to get a somewhat tasteful vodka cran. Music playing was questionable at most. After what felt like 4 weeks, a group of people walked in. When reading on Lonely Plant I didn't know that large cats lived on PEI. However, with my own eyes I spotted 3 (three!) cougars. They were several years older than me and wanted to take my meat to presumably their den. I quickly tried to evade them, however cougars are clever beings. I tried to escape out the front door, but I needed a cab. I wanted to ask the bouncer, but I'm assuming he finally got a chance to relieve his bowels. I was lost in this confusing community. Through several evasive manovers, and walking faster than the brittle bones of these cougars could move, I was safe. I can not thank Michael's pizza enough for providing me shelter and calling me a cab. I'm surprised this bar isn't a level on a Cabella's arcade hunting game. I will never return or recommend to anyone again.

I didn't even notice until we were leaving but there's also some slot machines! My friend said that on weekdays it's always empty and it was exactly that. We were the only ones playing pool along with a few others at the bar. Apparently it does get packed on weekends though! Also, it was nice that we could order pizza from the place next door and bring it to our table at Doolys and eat there. Where I come from (Toronto) that would be a big no-no, no outside food allowed. On a side note, the pizza and fries were great from the place next door. Overall great tables and we had a great time shooting around. We were there for almost 3hours and the bill came up to be $24 (also ordered a pitcher of soft drink) so it was very affordable. All of the seafood spots we had looked at prior had closed for some reason or another. Our air bnb host recommended this place and it was very tasty seafood, good value and great service! It was a rainy day but the patio looked to have great views too! Great food and great atmosphere, I definitely recommend!
