Atwood's Ranch & Home - A promise to keep it clean

Atwood's Ranch & Home

Love coming into atwoods to get feed for all our animals on our ranch the staff is always so nice…read moreand helpful, however this past weekend we had our first negative experience and it was from a manager of all employees. We were returning a couple items we recently purchased because they were the wrong size. We got in line and immediately after we got in line about 9 other people got in line behind us. As we were returning the items with the cashier he needed an override for the return. To which the manager was the cashier on the next register over. He proceeded to take all 9 other guest in line behind us instead of just helping out with the override, and when the cashier asked him for an override he said they can wait, there are other people waiting to check out. The manager seemed to have some attitude for an unknown reason I believe his name was Ryan. I don't tend to write bad reviews but when he made us wait over 15 minutes and then to get a bad attitude, pushed me to write a poor review. Hoping this was just a fluke otherwise if it happens again we will start taking our business elsewhere.

They seem to have everything a homeowner would need there. I was a little surprised by the state of the bathrooms (in the photo). But we've had great service checking out the few times we've been in. Wonderful and professional moving company! Very reasonable prices. Manager was very helpful and…read morekind - especially when our move date changed. Our move crew was friendly and helpful. They moved quickly and didn't dilly dally around. They packed our belongings carefully and took special precautions to make sure our valuables weren't broken. Would highly recommend this company to anyone moving. We hadn't moved in over 20+ years and Christy made our move seem seamless!!

Unfortunately, my experience with First Step Moving was extremely disappointing. I read all of the…read morereviews and we specifically went with this company because of the amazing reviews. Our experience was quite different. I understand that the owners of this company are not present for the moves so they may be unaware, but these movers seemed to be amateurs. After the move was completed, the movers left their trash on the curb of our home, including water bottles, and also left partially empty tea bottles inside the house. That alone showed a lack of professionalism and respect for a client's home. During the move, they spent time talking on their phones, which slowed the process down. Several items were also left behind at the original house, forcing us to travel back after the move was completed to retrieve them. Many pieces of furniture were not placed in the correct rooms, which caused additional frustration and ultimately required us to hire another set of hands to help reorganize and move items properly. There was also damage to our belongings. My daughter's $400 dollhouse was broken during the move, mirrors were not attached back to the bedroom sets, and the bed was not put together properly. In addition, multiple parts of our furniture were left at the old house. To make matters even more concerning, my wedding ring also went missing during the move. This entire situation created far more stress than relief on what was already a very demanding day. I explained that as we hired movers specifically to make moving large items easier and less stressful. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. I truly hope the company takes these concerns seriously and improves their professionalism, accountability, and care when handling customers' homes and belongings. The owner Kristy reached back out after I left a vm and she credited one hour due to certain complaints expressed but after the movers left, we found several other issues. Christine was absolutely amazing with scheduling the move but there has been no follow up since I've expressed several other concerns.

Utterly WOW! I had been running around to every stone warehouse and talking to almost a dozen…read morefabricators over a period of several months, based on Google research and Facebook ads. We had resigned ourselves to pretty basic (ie "UGLY") granite due to our budget. But I drive past this fabricator almost every day near my house, and decided to stop in on a whim to see if they could beat a price that another fabricator had quoted me on a slab I had seen at a warehouse. Isa greeted me cheerily and said she'd do a little research. By the end of the day she had sent me quotes on several slabs, including the one I was interested in. Her quote beat out the other fabricator (and she didn't know the competitor's price!), but she suggested I take a look at another showroom in The Colony called Verona Marble, to see if there was anything there I liked. Pulling up in front of the place, I quickly realized they would have NOTHING in my price range, but I went in anyway, and fell in love with multiple slabs I knew I could never afford. I sent her the ones I liked, and to my shock, one was square in my budget range, and the other 2 I could have pulled off. However, my favorite slab was the one that she quoted within my budget, and that's the one we picked. It's a new type of finish called "iced," which is a combination of the new, trendy "leathered" finish (which offers a coarse, almost pebbly surface) with a final polish that only shines up the larger, highest patches of the stone. It's utterly breathtaking to look at, AND touch. Visually and texturally stunning. Their quote on this slab was lower than quotes for even the basic, cheap slabs I was getting from other contractors, I could not believe it. (The base granite in the slab was an otherwise drab, basic, grey granite you see everywhere, but the finish transforms it into something that looks super high-end and perfectly matched the look in my new kitchen. This is why it was in my price range, the granite itself is cheap, it's the finish that elevates it.) They scheduled measurements/templates for the day after my contractor was supposed to finish installing my cabinets. Unfortunately, he had to come back that morning for a couple of hours to finish, so he was present when Granite Fabricators came to template. This meant I had to reschedule templating for later in the day, incurring an extra fee. (My cabinet contractor's fault.) However, they measured at 2pm, and the countertops were installed THE NEXT DAY. (Keep in mind, this was in January, which is the slowest month for countertop fabricators.) As a chef, not having a kitchen means not having income, so I was SO impressed with this turnaround time. Something to note is that their people showed up early for EVERY appointment at my house, so if you have a 2pm appointment time, please be ready to expect them up to an hour early. As someone who works from home, this was not a big deal for me, but if they had arrived at their stated time (or a bit later, as most contractors do), I might not have had to pay for a reschedule when they showed up while my cabinet guy was finishing up. Overall, I am utterly thrilled by Granite Fabricators of Dallas. Their prices can't be beat, Isa and Elva in the office are super friendly and follow up quickly, and our new countertops have astounded everyone who has seen them. They look ultra-luxe, far beyond what we expected to get with our budget.
