This was my first time going to Rosie's and I was very disappointed…read more Stacy the manger treated myself and many other guests very disrespectfully. I would like to start off by saying I was the sober driver this night. We live 20 minutes away and we were looking for a karaoke bar to go to. As per the website it says open till 2am on Saturdays. We showed up at midnight. A bunch of others were already outside complaining how Stacy was shutting down the place early because "she wanted to". I am unsure if this is a regular occurrence that she shuts this place down early despite there being multiple people who still wanted to be there and the place still being busy. There were at least 25 people still in the bar. We asked why they were closing and she was very short tempered, rude and confrontational. The only positive thing about this whole experience was the male staff who understood our frustration and attempted to try and convince us to come again and hopefully this won't happen again

We went here for the crab boil and I think for 30 bucks pretty good bang for your buck…read more We also ordered a couple of appies. The calamari and the roasted broccoli. Atmosphere was a typical pub ambiance. Really not remarkable. I liked though that the music wasn't blaring and I could have a conversation. Server was friendly and helpful. Food was quick to come out. We both loved the calamari. They were thick pieces that were well seasoned. Definately need to order this again. Broccoli was perhaps a bit underdone, but flavour was good. When the crab came out it looked a little skimpy in terms of potatoes and the other shellfish. However with the appies we were filled up well. Crab was tasty and well boiled. Potatoes were okay and the few mussels and clanms on the bottom. I would come back here for that still. All in all a good meal.

Customer service was great and all staff were friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were also great and I enjoyed their specials. Definitely a great place to hangout and enjoy the food and drinks and I'm sure I'll go back there a lot! :)

Great patio for getting full sun. Dog friendly too and they provide water bowls as well…read more We were there for quite some time but staff were great and not pushing us at all. Drinks: Corona Sunrise: tastes like a corona with lemon and ice cubes. White sangria: 8/10, was okay not the best. Food: Chicken Gyoza: 9/10. Boyfriend thinks these are the best in the city. I admit they are good. Fried perfectly and sauce is very food but I prefer more chicken in mine. Dynamite Shrimp: 9/10, had a sample from a friend and it was delicious. Brussel Sprouts: 8/10. Sauce was great but I found them a little undercooked for my liking - if you like them a little hard and chewy then you might enjoy them more! Friend asked for no bacon due to his values but still found a piece in his. A.C.E burger: 10/10. I wish the menu specified the patties are smash patties and VERY small so even though it says 2 it tastes like no more meat than 1 normal patty. Friend said he did not get this burger cause he thought it would be too much protein and more like 1/4 lb of beef. Patties were cooked great, flavor was good, bun was good. Sesame brown rice this time was underwhelming, not enough sesame sauce so rice was very bland. Broccolini was a side available (not on the online menu) and was cooked perfectly. Boyfriend got same burger but with crinkle fries and Cesear salad. Salad was meh but fries were so fresh and cooked perfectly. Overall food was really good and patio was great.

Like Rosie's off Whyte, I have grown to love Hawkeye's Too for its great service, and unpretentious…read morefood and atmosphere. Hawkeye's Too has delicious (and amazingly cheap) food. I've tried the pizza bread, nachos and both Cajun chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches, all of which were tasty and all of which were in the $6-9 range. The beer is cheap and cold, although I'll never forget the conversation when I first sat down: Waitress: "What'll you have to drink?" Me: "What kind of beers do you have on tap?" Waitress: "Canadian." Me: "I'll have a Canadian." Service here is very good. The ladies who have served me remember my name, and are always warm. Mary in particular is a totally amazing server, and one of my favourite waitresses in the city - I look forward to seeing her every time I go! Make no mistake though, these servers know how rough around the edges their clientele can be, and they don't take crap. I can tell. Karaoke nights are hilarious and just as unpretentious as the rest of the Hawkeye's experience. Go on a Thursday-Saturday night and find out for yourself! I'm always enjoy my visits here; great little spot in downtown Edmonton.

This is such an odd little place. It's barely a block off the really trendy part of Jasper Ave,…read moreclose to trendy spots like The Hat. It draws some of the same crowd in as those more popular bars, but it also has a real mix of people filling up the tables and booths. It's a lower-scale place that's part restaurant, part bar. The pizza was surprisingly VERY yummy here! Although they don't have very many beers on tap (I think it was a total of 1), we still had a really fun night with a big group of friends here. Out waitress (I forget her name, but everyone else seemed to know her) was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive (which was very impressive given how busy the place was). I would come by again for the pizza and a beer next time I'm in the mood for a very laid-back evening.

A gorgeous early-evening stroll brought me to Pip, my ole stomping grounds for 6 yrs at the OSYS…read moreround the corner next to Varscona and now the city has put the building for sale.. Tonight felt like a true homecoming. I arrived a little early and enjoyed walking through the neighbourhood before settling in. Madeline, our server, was warm, attentive, and absolutely lovely. Harry ordered his usual martini, and when it arrived looking so crisp and elegant, I couldn't resist ordering one myself. Madeline also brought out a purple martini with olives that looked divine and tasted even better -- one of the most beautiful cocktails I've had in Edmonton. We both chose seafood dishes, and every plate was fresh, flavourful, and perfectly done. Pip manages to be elevated yet relaxed, with a real community vibe. It's kid‑friendly, welcoming, and has a great patio for summer evenings. A memorable evening at a neighbourhood gem and with Pals next door it serves the community well with so many cafes closed following #Covid on #Whyte Ave #YEG

Very misleading hours posted we showed up there at 9:41 and were told that they were closing soon…read moreand that they shut their kitchen down at 9:45pm & that they had already done last call for food for the night. They were still willing to serve us food to go though when my friend initially asked for menus they said to go? . Super disappointing we drove a half an hour to make it on time and rushed and everything thinking that an hour and 20 minutes before it closes is more than enough time for a quick Dinner service for two people and obviously we're not a-holes so when the entire staff is ready to just shutter early and leave, we're not gonna be the two people that insist that they stay open. The guy working there was really nice to my friend apparently though. So nothing against the staff personally or anything. Oh, and the gazebo is getting wild. There's some guy out there screaming about cutting some girl named Kristen's head off so if there's any violent crimes tonight, we're audible witnesses lol
