Another year has passed with my home being very uncomfortable in cold temperatures causing me to resort to using space heaters....NOT WHAT I WAS ASSURED OF! They repaired the loose and broken ductwork by replacing some, repairing other sections, tightening up joints, re-taping and insulating all the ductwork. Bob & Ed's was on a maintenance contract for two years for our home HVAC equipment. After the…read morerecent furnace inspection, their technician advised that our furnace might not make it through the winter because the heat exchanger was about to fail, so I had the furnace replaced. When the old furnace was removed, it was discovered the evaporator coils on the old furnace were completely stopped up (see photo). They were supposed to be inspected and cleaned so the equipment would operate efficiently, per the maintenance contract. Bob & Ed's acknowledged they messed up and refunded my money for the current year's contract. The technician from the company that installed the new furnace said the clogged coils contributed to the shortened life of the old furnace. Bob & Ed's disputed that. Lesson learned: Just because a Bob & Ed's technician tells you he's done the work, that's not necessarily so.
