I received quotes from several companies to install a river rock bed around the perimeter of my home. I chose to go with K.J. Lawn Service because his pricing was fair and straightforward. Instead of opening a calendar so I could sign up for a time and date that fit my schedule, they assign you a time. Same with aeration. When the fall 2026 time was dictated to me I was away traveling. Their response was basically, "Be there or else. By the time I was notified of my appointment, they had filled their schedule and would not guarantee they could protect my system before they were done for the season. Not acceptable. I felt like I was doing business with a firm that ran by ''it's my way or the highway". They do it because it benefits them, not customer service-oriented I.

We…read morehave a beautiful lawn and our neighbors on both sides have started to use their fertilization services as well. They also have helped with our sprinklers and back flow checks. We get many comments on how lush our yards are. I only have positive things to say about our experience with Josh and Boersma's family owned business.

Being new to the area we hired Boersma Lawn Service to cut our lawn. Josh quoted us $50 a cut. We…read moreagreed. The day he came out to look at yard we showed him the cable company had laid out our cable but not buried it yet. Josh assured us his guy would work around the cable. When the bill came we were charged an extra $10 so someone could move the cable out of the way. That is a ridiculous charge and we were not informed ahead of time that there would be an extra fee. When we addressed this with Josh he said we had to pay more so someone could move the cable out of the way even though we had already pointed this out to him and he didn't mention the extra fee ahead of time. We decided to end his employment at that time. The next week, his company cut our lawn again and sent us another bill even though we had already fired him. We paid both bills in full just to get rid of him. Then when we turned our sprinklers on there was a leak in the pipe. We have a new house so we had to go through the warranty company in order to get it fixed. The warranty company called their sprinkler company and 2 weeks later the pipe was fixed. Two months later I got a bill for the broken sprinkler pipe from the sprinkler company because the problem was caused by a weed wacker hit. It took so long for us to get the bill because the sprinkler company sent the invoice to the warranty company first. Boersma Lawn Care was the only company at this point who had cut our lawn so I know they did it. When we submitted the invoice to Boersma Lawn Care Josh outright refused to pay even a portion of the bill. He called us horrible names and said he is not responsible to reimburse us for the broken pipe. This is an unethical company that only looks out for themselves. Firstly, you should never charge a customer for something you haven't mentioned to them in advance and secondly, you need to take responsibility for your actions. If you mess something up you should fix it. I am so dissatisfied and disappointed with this company that I implore you not to ever use them.

Our 3' river birches planted in 2017 are now 30' just 7 years later. The past 2 years the japanese beetles haven't liked to eat our birch trees nearly as much so we had full shade in our yard.
