I have used this company several times over the years. They cut trees on my farm when I lived in Knoxville and have cut down 3 trees here in Des Moines. They did a fantastic job removing one tree and trimming another and did a great job cleaning up. The only issue I had was the guy driving the large truck not noticing the 3 cameras around our property when he decided to make fun of us for spending money on tree's while our driveway was torn up (he missed the paint line on the grass, which mapped out where the new driveway was getting paved the following week lol). For some, thats a minor incident but it didn't give me a great first impression when he showed up that morning. read more

A very large limb about 30 feet long fell off my tree and into my neighbors yard. I called John's and a representative was out to assess the damage within a few hours. Had a large elm tree removed from the far end (lot line) of the back yard in the Des Moines area. Jesse and two other workers arrived on time and the tree (24 in. diameter trunk) was down in just under three hours. They spent the remaining time cleaning up the large logs, branches and debris. When the job was done, the yard (and neighbor's yard behind us) looked better than before they started. The crew was very professional and did quality work. They ran into a couple of challenges with gaining access to the back yard and couldn't park the wood chipper near the tree but kept true to their quoted price. John's Tree Service did great work on trimming the trees that overhung my house, and also dead limbs in a big walnut tree. Cleaned up after perfectly and even sawed a few logs for fire pit. Very reasonable. I'd highly recommend them. read more

Had a dying tree that needed removed and some stumps. Was quoted a price less than half my expectation after some internet research (could have been bad research, but seemed like a very fair price if I had done no research). Tree was cut down and disposed about 3 weeks later (seems like a reasonable time line). Stumps were removed about 3 weeks after that. I was initially concerned they forgot the stumps, but they told me the ground had been wet, and they didn't want to damage my yard. They did not bill me until the entire job was done. I just had Johns tree service come out to my home to trim up my two front trees and remove a mulberry tree in back. The two gentlemen that came out were on time and super friendly! Great customer service! They confirmed with me what I needed done before starting any work. I loved that while they were trimming my two front trees they would stop and periodically check with me to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it. My dreaded mulberry tree is gone and stump removed! They were both very efficient. One would cut and the other would haul away the branches into the chipper. My front and back yard were both cleaned up perfectly! No branches, wood chips, etc anywhere. The pricing for this job was very reasonable! I HIGHLY recommend everyone to use this company to have your trees trimmed or removed or anything! I couldn't have asked for a better company to get the job done.
