Came here today to pick up a truck for a few items that I needed to grab. It sits back off of…read moreSparkleberry but it can be seen from Two Notch. Upon entering, I was greeted with a smile that was helping another customer. I took a seat and waited my turn. It took about 15 minutes for her to finish up with them. While waiting, I took a gander at the products that were posted around the establishment for purchase. When it was my turn, my check out was pretty quick. She pulled my truck around and I was off. A few hours later when I returned, she was still there along with another young man. Again, I was greeted with a smile. I turned in my key and I was off again!! Great experience and it was quick! Will definitely be back!

CHECK YOUR FINAL RECEIPT AND TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR FUEL GAUGE AND MILEAGE…read more I am writing this review to warn other customers about my experience at U-Haul Moving & Storage at Sandhill, 1117 Sparkleberry Ln Ext, Columbia, SC 29223. I received the truck with 1/4 tank of fuel and returned it with AT LEAST 1/4 tank, possibly slightly more. Before returning it, I stopped for gas and paid $29.05 to make sure the truck was returned with the required fuel level. However, my final U-Haul receipt showed the truck as being returned NEAR EMPTY. That is simply not how I returned it. Based on that incorrect fuel reading, I was charged for 8 additional gallons of fuel ($44.00), PLUS a $30.00 Fuel Service Fee. With the applicable taxes and charges, the total additional amount charged to my card was $79.92. This was not a minor difference between two neighboring marks on the fuel gauge. There is a significant difference between 1/4 tank or more and nearly empty. Fortunately, I had taken photos documenting the fuel gauge and mileage at the time I returned the truck, and I kept my gas receipt. My husband had to call and dispute the charges. The $79.92 was ultimately reversed, but those charges should never have appeared on my bill in the first place. What concerns me most -- and the reason I am posting this review -- is: WHAT HAPPENS TO A CUSTOMER WHO DOESN'T CAREFULLY CHECK THE FINAL RECEIPT? Had I not reviewed my bill and had documentation to dispute it, would that $79.92 have simply remained on my card? An unexpected charge of almost $80 is not insignificant. For someone with limited available credit who has carefully budgeted for the expected rental cost, a charge like this could create a real financial problem. This experience caused me unnecessary stress, anger, and anxiety, and it seriously affected my confidence in the accuracy of the return and billing process. My advice to anyone renting from U-Haul: Take a photo of the fuel gauge AND odometer when you pick up the truck. Take another photo when you return it. Keep your gas receipt. Carefully review your final invoice AND your credit card charge. Do not assume that because you returned the vehicle correctly, the final bill will necessarily reflect it correctly. Keep your own proof. I am very glad I did.
