I'm proud to highly recommend this restaurant. My first date with my wife was here in 1989. I didn't appreciate the fresh-made pasta sauce and pasta. The trout raised in a neighboring spring or the home made cakes and pies like I do today. Three generations of the Devito family have made this restaurant what it is. Where to begin? It was loud and chaotic when we walked in. A line at the register to pay and no one there. The pasta dishes are overpriced. My husband ordered prime rib and wanted it medium rare but they said medium was the rarest they could do. What?? I had a piece of Italian sausage that was like no Italian sausage I've ever tasted before or ever want to again. DeVito's is a Harrison institution. It's easily Harrison's biggest and best culinary secret. Tucked away just off of old 65, the historic Bear Creek Springs Trout Farm and its sister restaurant, DeVito's, have been pleasing and serving local families for decades. All the restaurant's impressive trout dishes come from fish caught that morning at the farm-- which isn't surprising. What is surprising is that almost every other dish is made from scratch on location as well. Homemade pasta? Check. Homemade meatballs? Check. Sauce? Bread? Salad dressings? Desserts? Smoked prime rib? Check. It's all fresh, it's all made by the DeVito brothers (or, in the case of the chocolate cake, their mom), and it's all fantastic. We're especially fond of the lasagna, a rich and delicious dish that can easily serve 2-3 people with one entree; the house creamy parmesan dressing; and the divine chocolate bourbon pecan pie. Our toddlers can split a child's spaghetti entree (the staff will happily split any entree for you without any additional charges), and everyone leaves extremely full and happy. The prices are a bit higher than most area restaurants, but it is OH SO WORTH what you pay. Make sure you leave some time to stroll around the grounds before or after your meal. Go down to the trout farm with a quarter or two for some trout food (honor system) to throw in the water and feed the beautiful fish. And check out the beautiful cascading waterfall beside the restaurant, and the giant fish (goldfish? koi?) in the pool beneath it. The spring coming out of the mountainside makes for another quick but scenic stopping point. Amazing location! We're long-time fans and will be back to DeVito's again and again. read more

Found Devito's on yelp driving back from Branson. Great little Italian place that specializes in trout from the stream across the street. The adults in our family had the Cajun trout, roasted red pepper & garlic trout (the special) and the pesto trout. All were fantastic. I recommend the house zesty Italian dressing for the salads. The hush puppies were some of the best we've ever had (very light and flavorful). The kids meals were also very good and had amazing French fries similar to the hush puppies. Amazing food! Who can find fault with fresh-cooked trout? The food is simply delicious and the portions are large enough for two people or two meals. Food was awesome! We took our kids there so they could catch their fish for dinner. They caught three very nice size trout in a very short time. Kids wanted to fish more but it is not catch and release. You pay for what you catch and they will cook it for you at the restaurant if they are open. We had trout almondine, devitos trout (grilled), and fried boneless trout. I had never eaten trout and was surprised at how good it was! Not fishy at all. Very clean white meat fish. Even the skin was tasty! We had two salads with their two house made dressings and they were great! Family owned and most items were made from scratch. Wished I had room for desert! Looked at restaurants and reviews for the Harrison, AR. Area. Divito's sounded good and was not too far off the highway. Wife and I both had the trout, prepared differently. Both were cooked to perfection with good flavor. Tartar sauce, lemon wedge and cocktail sauce were all offered. Found just a little lemon was all that was needed. Great meal and service. We came late so we couldn't enjoy the view, but did have a nice conversation with our server Debbie. Very enjoyable evening. read more

Hands down favorite restaurant ever! Everything is made from scratch by the family. Every time I am in town it is a must to stop there. I do not have one negative thing to say and I have tried just about everything on the menu. It is a must to have an appetizer, main course, and try and save room for desert (or take it home). We live in Arlington Texas, but have property outside of Harrison. DeVito's has become a must stop each time we are in town. The food is fresh, the service is good and the prices are very reasonable. The location is bit out of the way but worth it. I dined with 3 of my coworkers and all of our selections were excellent (3 different trout dishes and my chicken selection). They all enjoyed thier fresh trout plates and I ejoyed my "Brandon's Chicken Paramasean" plate. The food was priced a bit higher than the competion and the decor was slightly lacking the "italian atmosphere". However the excellent wine (nice Malbec) and the food more than made up for the areas of opportunity. I will be back the next time I am in the area. read more

It was the first pasta place I have been to that I left fully pleased. Their Alfredo sauce was filled with rich flavor. Devito's is a Harrison mainstay! It has been my favorite restaurant for many years. I've lived other places: Rogers, Little Rock, Dallas and am presently in Fayetteville, but I still make a special trip to my hometown to eat at Devito's every chance I get! Their trout is unbelievable (especially the pate and the smoked trout!) and always made to perfection! Their Italian selections are authentic and ALL excellent. They are rich and robust in flavor and obviously homemade with quality ingredients. In this day and age, it's so nice to go to a restaurant where the food is made to order and not a frozen quick fix! The ambience sets the tone for the perfect meal...from the creek in the background and beautiful landscapes and waterfalls to the friendliness of the staff and owners. I have past this place uncounted times. I remember seeing it also as a Child, but we never stopped. Today we did. I am so glad we did! We started with the trout fingers. A perfect appetizer, fresh and delicious. We ordered the shrimp fettuccine and lasagna. Our salads arrived, I had the creamy Parmesan dressing, highly recommend it! Our entrees arrived, oh my! The portions were huge! The freshness and savoriness were a delightful combination. We had to get Togo boxes, but we thoroughly enjoyed the service and the food. I have wanted to come here and eat for almost 13 years. I finally made it me and my MIL's destination today. OMG the food is absolutely amazing. We started out with Trout Fingers for our appetizer and were not disappointed. Delectable fresh trout cut into fingerling size lightly cornmeal battered deep fried to perfection. Melted in our mouths. My MIL ordered her favorite dish of all Eggplant Parmesan and I ordered the Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo. Neither of us were disappointed in fact our taste buds were singing praises to the heavens. My alfredo sauce was a buttery, cheesy, creamy delight along with the shrimp and crab each bite was a succulent and tender delightful journey. The eggplant parmesan with 5 medallion's of tender, soft goodness, with a homemade red sauce is and was to die for. Everyone was super sweet, super nice and the entire experience from start to finish was perfection. These two gals will be eating here many more times I can guarantee it. We've been going to DeVito's for twenty years! Good food, good service, and really pleasant experience, especailly if you're seated at a window with a view of the creek and forest across the street. Are rarely disappointed, and usually only because the dish wasn't quite as good as last time. Great trout fixed a dozen different ways, and great prime rib. Easily the best place to eat within miles and miles (definitely rivaling anything found in Branson). As a matter of opinion, if you are staying in Branson, it is worth the 30 minute drive to eat here. Where to begin? Pesto Trout is stupid delicious. There is not real way to describe this. The trout is literally farmed ACROSS THE STREET PEOPLE, so it is the freshest trout you will ever eat, broiled to perfection. The second secret here is that the make and stuff their own Italian sausage. No matter what entree you get, add an Italian sausage for $3 or so. You must try it! It is by far the best and most unique Italian sausage it have ever had. Note that you must park below and walk a decently steep staircase to get to the restaurant- don't know if there is an elevator.
